Chapter 504 Su Rui’s Uncompromising Stand

    “What an idiot.”

Su Rui curled his lip and tossed a stack of red Huaxia currency wrapped in paper into the trash can with a flick of his wrist.

If a sanitation worker found that stack of cash, Su Rui actually hoped they would keep it for themselves — at least it would improve their quality of life a little. As for why it was wrapped in tissue paper — he just wanted to make the money less conspicuous.

Robbing the rich to help the poor was, to Su Rui, an utterly routine affair.

But just then, the beautiful woman named Hua Ling came storming over, her face full of fury!

“You fat bastard, was it you? Did you steal my man’s wallet?”

Cao Tianping looked completely baffled: “What are you spouting off about? You stepped on my foot and I’ve been crouched on the ground ever since — I never even stood back up! What wallet could I possibly have stolen?”

“You’re the prime suspect! You’re holding a grudge and looking for revenge! I don’t care, you’re coming with me to the police today to explain yourself!”

Hua Ling was a shrew to her core — once she started making a scene she couldn’t stop. Getting stepped on by a woman like this, Cao Tianping must have done something terrible in a past life.

Su Rui stood to one side and shook his head.

His right hand slipped into his pocket, two coins pinched between his index and middle fingers.

It looked like nothing more than a casual flick of the wrist, but those two coins shot out like darts, spinning through the air and leaving two silver arcs of light in their wake, drilling straight into the heels of Hua Ling’s shoes with pinpoint precision!

    Snap! Snap!

Two crisp cracking sounds rang out!

What happens when a ten-centimeter stiletto heel gets sheared clean off at the base?

With her support suddenly gone, Hua Ling completely lost her balance and toppled sideways!

    Thud!

With a dull crash, the woman who had been so arrogant just a second before fell flat on her back with zero dignity!

As she went down, the hem of her skirt flew up to her waist, exposing her lower half — clad in a pair of risqué thong underwear!

Nearly everything was on full display, and the eyes of everyone around went wide!

This woman was way too bold — dressed that provocatively!

The onlookers could clearly see that although Hua Ling’s underwear was technically called a thong, the total amount of fabric combined wasn’t even the size of a palm, and it was made entirely of transparent gauze — it did virtually nothing to block anyone’s view!

It was pretty obvious she and Li Pengcheng had been planning to head straight to a hotel after the concert, and to save herself the trouble, she’d worn the lingerie directly under her slip dress!

“So wild,” someone in the crowd muttered.

“This is the quality you get from Prada shoes? Must be fake.”

“What are you all staring at?” Hua Ling snapped, her face flushed red with anger, then scrambled to her feet and hastily straightened her skirt. She didn’t even bother picking up the broken heels off the ground — now wearing her Pradas as flats, she shoved through the crowd and stumbled her way toward the venue!

The truth was, both heels snapping at the same time was far too strange to be a coincidence, but the situation was too mortifying right now for her to stop and figure out why!

Behind her, Cao Tianping was laughing so hard tears were nearly streaming down his face!

They say karma comes around, but he never imagined it would come this fast!

    Deeply satisfying!

Thinking back to the sorry state Hua Ling had been in after she fell, Cao Tianping couldn’t stop laughing!

When Cao Tianping and Su Rui got to their seats, they were surprised to discover that Hua Ling and Li Pengcheng were sitting right behind them!

Being able to get second-row front-section tickets to a concert said quite a lot about Li Pengcheng and Hua Ling’s status and financial means.

Of course, when this couple saw that fat bastard Cao Tianping was actually sitting in the front row, they were even more annoyed.

“Hey, fat ass, where did you steal those tickets from?” Hua Ling said from behind them, her tone imperious. “Do you have any idea how much front-row tickets cost? Can you even afford them? Are you sure you’re in the right seat?”

To put it politely, she was looking down her nose at people. To put it bluntly, she had no manners whatsoever — no different from a complete idiot.

In truth, the woman named Hua Ling was a bit haughty in her everyday life, but not quite this brainless. It was just that she was carrying a lot of pent-up anger right now, which made both her words and actions less than rational.

She figured that if it weren’t for this fat idiot causing trouble, her expensive heels would never have broken, she would never have fallen flat on the ground in such a humiliating way, and her intimate underwear would never have been exposed in front of everyone.

Hearing this, Cao Tianping was nearly beside himself with rage — he was, after all, the business team leader of Bikang’s marketing department, and even without Su Rui’s help, he could certainly afford a front-section concert ticket!

But before he could respond, he heard Li Pengcheng continue: “And setting the shoe thing aside for now — did you steal my wallet? You owe us an explanation today, no matter what!”

This guy was still fuming — losing that much money out of nowhere would upset anyone. Cao Tianping was the prime suspect, so naturally all the blame was being directed at him.

“Are you two done?” Team Leader Cao had had enough. His foot was swollen badly — he could barely squeeze into his sandal — and the two people responsible were still here running their mouths. Did they have no shame?

“I owe you an explanation? What gives you the right to demand one from me?”

Hua Ling crossed her arms, seemingly having forgotten the humiliation she’d just endured. “This is absolutely not over! You do owe us an explanation! If you don’t compensate us for our losses at full price, we are not letting this go!”

At this point, Su Rui turned around, his gaze moving back and forth between Hua Ling and Li Pengcheng, then let out a cold snort and said: “My friend got stepped on by you two, and not only are you refusing to cover his medical expenses, you’re turning around and demanding he compensate you for your losses? What kind of logic is that?”

Honestly, Su Rui was at a complete loss for words — why did he run into people like this no matter where he went?

“I already gave him a hundred yuan for medical expenses! Don’t be greedy!” Li Pengcheng glared at Su Rui.

“A hundred yuan — what, are you tipping a beggar?” Su Rui didn’t get angry, he laughed instead, and for some reason that smile made both Hua Ling and Li Pengcheng feel a sudden inexplicable unease.

“A hundred yuan can buy at least two hundred band-aids!” Hua Ling said indignantly. In her view, Cao Tianping shouldn’t have been given anything at all — whose fault was it that his feet were so fat and took up so much space?

“Two hundred thousand yuan. Compensation for my brother’s medical expenses. Otherwise, neither of you is leaving this stadium today.”

Su Rui had developed quite a taste for extortion — having just failed to squeeze fifty million dollars out of Li Chen, he turned right around and demanded two hundred thousand from Li Pengcheng.

Even Cao Tianping was startled by that number! That was way too outrageous — his foot injury could be handled with twenty yuan worth of bruise-relief patches, yet Su Rui had just casually demanded two hundred thousand — a difference of ten thousand times. And he actually had the nerve to say it out loud!

“That’s so shameless,” Cao Tianping couldn’t help muttering under his breath.

When it came to shamelessness, the two people behind them were no match for Su Rui at all.

Hearing this, both Hua Ling and Li Pengcheng were taken aback — was this young man out of his mind? Did he even know what two hundred thousand yuan looked like?

“Are you joking?” Li Pengcheng stared hard into Su Rui’s eyes.

“I never joke with idiots.” That one line from Su Rui nearly choked the other man to death.

“You…” Li Pengcheng’s face turned red, but he found he couldn’t come up with a single word to fire back.

“If you can’t think of anything to say, then pay up. I mean every word I say.”

“Two hundred thousand — this guy really has some nerve.”

Just then, a graceful-looking middle-aged woman walked over and took a seat beside Su Rui.

She appeared to be under forty, but was exceptionally well-maintained — her skin smooth and fair, her looks quite attractive, her figure ripe and full. In her every glance and gesture, there was an unmistakable air of a powerful woman.

When Li Pengcheng and Hua Ling saw her approach, they both grew visibly excited and quickly said, “Hi, Sister Fen.”

The woman addressed as Sister Fen glanced coolly at the two of them. “You two have been causing trouble for me again?”

“It’s not us causing trouble, it’s them…” Li Pengcheng pointed at Su Rui, trying to get the first word in and shift the blame.

“Do I not know you two by now? I, Mo Bofen, worked so hard to bring Tang Ni Landor here for this concert — if you two ruin the atmosphere, what am I supposed to do with you? So inconsiderate!”

Su Rui’s expression sharpened as he listened from the side — so this woman was Mo Bofen, the one Li Chen had mentioned! The female boss of Borui Entertainment!

He had heard her name for a long time, but had never had the chance to meet her.

Rumor had it she had powerful connections in the capital — her reach extended to the highest levels. She wasn’t from any prominent old family herself, but several of Borui’s board members were all from such families. This entertainment company was tightly bound to several major clans — their fortunes rose and fell together.

Without those connections, could Mo Bofen have built Borui Entertainment to where it stood today on her own?

“My friend here, my two younger associates tend to be a bit brash and lacking in manners — I hope you’ll bear with them.” Mo Bofen said to Su Rui with a mild smile.

Hearing this, both Li Pengcheng and Hua Ling looked genuinely surprised!

Just who were these two people, that they could make Borui’s boss Mo Bofen apologize on their behalf?

In truth, Mo Bofen apologizing to anyone was an extremely rare occurrence. Ever since she founded Borui Entertainment, this formidable woman had been known for her iron-fisted methods — whether through scheming or direct confrontation, she always played the game with ease. Her assertiveness was legendary, and she never admitted fault. Yet here she was, actually apologizing!

Her words were understated and her face carried a smile, but there was little sincerity in her eyes — still, there was no denying that she had genuinely apologized on behalf of Li Pengcheng and Hua Ling, without even asking what had happened.

Su Rui could see that Mo Bofen wasn’t particularly sincere, but having someone of her stature in the entertainment world apologize to him was still quite a face-saving gesture.

She was giving him a way out.

If Su Rui took the hint and went along with it, both sides could bury the hatchet right then and there, and the unpleasantness from before could be treated as if it had never happened.

Unfortunately, Su Rui was simply not that kind of person.

His dictionary had always contained three words — no compromise.

“Ms. Mo, I believe we are all adults here, and each of us needs to take responsibility for our own actions.”

Hearing this, Mo Bofen’s expression stiffened slightly.

Su Rui glanced at Hua Ling and Li Pengcheng and said: “First, what I want is an apology from the two of them personally — not Ms. Mo apologizing on their behalf. Second, as I said before, two hundred thousand yuan in compensation for my brother’s medical expenses — not a single cent less. That still stands.”
