Chapter 91: Demonic Spirit
by Ink Hub“Senior Brother Lu Jin, I am Yan Mo, a disciple of the outer sect. May we become acquainted?”
Yan Mo seemed indifferent to the massive crowd surging around the Ten Thousand Swords Sect once again: she had taken the initiative to befriend Lu Jin. There was no trace of the inferiority in her eyes that typically arose from seeing Lu Jin’s transcendental performance.
Long Xiwei, however, had that look in her gaze. In this moment, when she saw Yan Mo approaching Lu Jin in front of everyone, that sense of self-doubt involuntarily magnified within her.
“Yan Mo? I witnessed your methods earlier: they were quite impressive,” Lu Jin replied indifferently.
Yan Mo smiled and got straight to the point. “After seeing Senior Brother’s skill, I truly wished to give you something. However, this item cannot be brought out in front of everyone. Please allow me to keep you in suspense for a moment: this is my transmission talisman. I will trouble you later, so I ask for your forgiveness in advance.”
After finishing her sentence, Yan Mo placed a transmission talisman directly into Lu Jin’s hand and turned to leave.
Watching her departing figure, Lu Jin frowned slightly. He quickly stowed the talisman and turned to look at Chu Tianxiong. “Sect Master, the matters of today are not yet concluded; however, I will not concern myself with the rest.”
Chu Tianxiong laughed. “You boy: you handed the entire Mo family over to this Seat on a silver platter. How could I bear to let you go! Once the Mo family delivers their treasures, I will personally bring them to you. Go on and attend to your own business for now.”
Chu Tianxiong patted Lu Jin on the shoulder. Lu Jin nodded and turned his gaze toward the group from Carefree Valley.
Long Xiwei was nowhere to be seen.
He flew over, and the people from Yun Chaomu’s group, as well as the representatives from the Drunken Immortal Pavilion and Great Wind Hall, immediately surrounded him. Yun Chaomu, seeing Lu Jin’s searching eyes, shook her head slightly with a smile.
“Young Friend Lu Jin is truly a dragon among men. Today has been quite the eye-opener! However, you are looking for that girl Xiwei, aren’t you? As her Shifu, I understand her heart well: the girl felt inferior and left early. Before she went, she asked me to hand this over to you.”
As she spoke, Yun Chaomu placed a spatial ring into Lu Jin’s hand.
“By the way, that girl named the Thunder-Devouring Mist Demon ‘Little Jin.’ I wonder what the reasoning behind that is? Hahaha! Young Friend Lu Jin, this one shall take her leave now!”
After Yun Chaomu finished speaking, she flew out with Feng Mengdao and the others. They bid farewell to Chu Tianxiong and departed from the Ten Thousand Swords Sect.
“Little Jin? Heh, that girl…”
Lu Jin took a deep breath and then soared into the air, heading into the depths of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect to reach his private cultivation dwelling.
“This sachet… it is so fragrant.”
When Lu Jin took out the item Long Xiwei had sent from the spatial ring, he was immediately captivated by the scent of the sachet. A refreshing aroma wafted through the air in delicate curls. Lu Jin suddenly knit his brows.
This fragrance seemed to be exactly the same as the scent on Long Xiwei’s body. It wasn’t the scent of an external perfume, but rather… her natural body fragrance.
*Is this girl giving me a sachet with this scent because she wants me to remember her?*
Lu Jin shook his head with a smile and put the sachet away. But the moment he stowed it, Empress Qinglian’s words surfaced in his mind.
*Rejuvenate your spirit and come find her of your own accord!*
With a sigh, Lu Jin composed his mind. Then, he took out the spatial rings belonging to the Mo Family Ancestor, Mo Tuojiang, and the other Mo family experts! These people were high-level members and top-tier existences of one of the Four Great Families of the Blood Moon Holy Land. The contents of their rings were bound to be extraordinary!
Filled with anticipation, Lu Jin inspected everything inside the rings. After his search, he was nearly grinning from ear to ear.
“Hahaha, I’ve struck it rich! The foundation of the Mo family is truly immense! The personal assets of a single elder are enough to rival half the reserves of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect’s treasure pavilion! The Family Head’s ring alone contains three heavy treasures at the Heaven-tier. As for other medicinal pills and Spirit Stones, there are as many as a hundred thousand!”
“The Ancestor’s ring, however, is somewhat plain and unadorned. Aside from a hundred thousand Spirit Stones, there is only this bow and arrow: and this severely damaged… demonic manual?”
Lu Jin’s brows furrowed as he looked at the fragmented demonic technique in the Mo Family Ancestor’s ring.
*If I’m not mistaken, this Mo Family Ancestor was certainly a member of the Blood Messenger Alliance! Just what kind of monster is this Blood Moon Ancestor to be able to manipulate so many cultivators to serve him? I will definitely find out your secrets and kill you to avenge my Shizun! Demonic techniques are things that should not exist: burn them.*
Lu Jin didn’t care to think further. A flame manifested in his palm, and he brought out the fragmented manual to incinerate it.
*Buzz!*
The moment the flames licked the demonic manual, a humming sound erupted from the book. A streak of black light emerged from within and shot out like a bolt of black lightning!
“What? This is… a Mo Ling?!”
Lu Jin was greatly shocked. He never expected that a Demonic Spirit had already been birthed from this demonic manual!
“And the grade isn’t low either!”
*Wooo!*
Lu Jin was quick. A mental power barrier condensed instantly, enveloping the space where the black light was attempting to escape. The powerful mental energy fluctuation sent the black light recoiling back, but the Mo Ling did not hesitate, immediately lunging in another direction.
“Where do you think you’re going!”
The Mo Ling was extremely fast; however, under Lu Jin’s mental power lockdown, it had no path of retreat. When it sensed it was sealed in, it began to vibrate violently!
Black demonic light erupted in a surging wave, spreading abruptly. A startling fluctuation swept out, crashing against Lu Jin’s mental barrier.
*Boom!*
The sound of the explosion erupted instantly. The impact force of the Mo Ling actually caused Lu Jin’s expression to shift significantly! He seemed to have underestimated the destructive power of a Demonic Spirit.
Amidst his shock, the Mo Ling had already blasted a hole through his mental seal and was about to escape.
“You won’t escape!”
Without a moment’s delay, Lu Jin released a burst of mental power, forcibly dragging the Mo Ling into the space where his mental roulette was located.
The Mo Ling was essentially an entity of mental energy. When the two forces entered the empty space, the gargantuan mental roulette activated instantly, grinding down toward the Mo Ling with frantic force.
“Wooo! Wooo! Wooo!”
Under the crushing weight of the mental roulette, the Mo Ling had nowhere to hide. The entire space was nearly filled by the wheel; there was simply no room to flee. Under this level of grinding, the Mo Ling could not help but let out a series of piteous shrieks.
*Buzz…*
As the Mo Ling was being crushed, a small portion of its mental energy was actually swallowed by the roulette. Then, miraculously, a surge of mental power was backfed and added onto Lu Jin’s own mental strength.
“Can it do this? Is this a type of backfeed?”
Lu Jin’s brows unknit as a look of joy appeared on his face.
*Mental power can be added to one’s self just like spiritual Qi! This way of becoming stronger is much more pleasant than enduring painful tempering!*
*Kacha!*
While Lu Jin was immersed in his surprise, a strange sound suddenly reached his ears. His brows furrowed instantly.
