All eyes turned to the scene below.

The dozens of blood-bone figures were in the process of slaughtering the warriors of the Qinglong Hall. Warriors fell one after another. However, some of the blood-bone figures were seen dragging the corpses of the fallen away from the battlefield, heading towards the city center.

“Those corpses, they still need them!” Jiang Yihan exclaimed in astonishment, “Could it be that they’re planning to create even more blood puppets to kill us?”

“I feel like we’re being herded like pigs,” someone muttered, and the words hung in the air, leaving everyone speechless. It was a chilling thought, but it seemed all too true.

The Tianlin Ancient City had been invaded by so many people, yet no one had discovered any precious opportunities or treasures. Instead, the city was sealed off, and the blood-bone figures emerged to take their lives. Moreover, the fallen warriors were being transported to the city center by the blood-bone figures, for reasons unknown.

“Such bizarre changes have never occurred in Tianlin Ancient City before,” Mu Zi Li sighed. “Even if it was dangerous, it was usually confined to a specific area. But this time… the entire city has become a deadly trap!”

Within the city, battles raged everywhere. Some people had taken refuge in pavilions and palaces, only to be hunted down and slain by the blood-bone figures. Compared to them, the dozen or so people in their group were in a relatively better situation. Although they were surrounded by blood-bone figures, they were protected by the azure pillar, and for now, they were safe.

However…

This couldn’t go on forever. Sitting idly by, waiting for something to happen, was not a solution.

“Hmm?” At this moment, Ye Wushuang’s eyebrows lifted as he gazed at the surrounding azure light.

“What’s the matter?” Mu Zi Li, Ji Ou, and Jiang Yihan all turned their attention to Ye Wushuang.

“This azure light… it seems… about to dissipate!” Upon hearing this, everyone was taken aback.

Dissipate?

Once the light faded, the blood-bone figures would surely swarm them immediately. What would they do then?

The faces of the disciples of Lingjian Mountain turned pale.

“Don’t panic yet,” Ye Wushuang said calmly. “We can still hold on for a while.”

Mu Zi Li continued, “So it seems these azure pillars are not permanent. Once we enter this place and the protection is activated, it is limited in time.”

Ji Ou immediately added, “In that case, we need to find the next azure pillar.”

Ye Wushuang had the ability to break through the azure pillar’s seal. As long as they could find the next pillar, they would be safe for a while longer.

But even so, this was not a sustainable solution!

The entire city was filled with blood-bone figures, and there were only a hundred or so azure pillars. Now, some people had already realized that the azure pillars were safe and were heading towards them. If this continued, in the end, everyone might still… die!

At this moment, Ye Wushuang landed on the ground. His gaze was fixed on the pavilion where everyone was standing. This pavilion was the tallest in the entire mansion. The entire residence was a grand courtyard with nine sections, looking quite imposing. However, the range of the light pillar only covered this one pavilion.

Seeing Ye Wushuang land, everyone followed suit.

“Junior Brother Ye, what’s wrong?” Mu Zi Li, Ji Ou, and Jiang Yihan had already come to trust Ye Wushuang quite a bit, given his foresight and judgment earlier.

“I just observed the surrounding light pillars, and they all seem to envelop a tall tower, pavilion, or palace. These azure pillars are not randomly including these structures. There might be something important here.”

Upon hearing this, everyone began to carefully examine the pavilion in front of them. It was a square structure, nine zhang wide from east to west, with four stories and a height of a hundred meters. Upon closer inspection, this pavilion indeed seemed quite extraordinary. Compared to the other buildings in the mansion, it felt completely out of place!

Earlier, everyone had been so focused on the blood-bone figures and the current situation in the city that they hadn’t noticed it.

“It is indeed strange,” someone remarked.

“Should we go inside and take a look?” another suggested.

“What do you think, Junior Brother Ye?” they asked.

Ye Wushuang looked at the surrounding light and said, “This light won’t last much longer. Let’s first see what mysteries this pavilion holds.”

“Alright,” everyone agreed.

The group approached the pavilion’s entrance and pushed the door open. There was no barrier on the door. As they opened it, a musty, long-sealed scent wafted out. At that moment, *whoosh whoosh whoosh*—dim flames suddenly ignited within the dark pavilion, illuminating the entire first floor. The sudden burst of fire startled everyone, who immediately brandished their spiritual weapons, eyes scanning the vast first floor warily.

The first floor was nearly fifty meters deep and twenty meters wide. With just a dozen people standing there, it felt eerily empty. Moreover, apart from the stone pillars supporting the structure and the walls around, there was nothing else! The emptiness only added to the sense of gloom and terror.

Mu Zi Li quickly said, “Let’s split into pairs and stay close. Look around and see if there’s anything unusual.”

Everyone nodded in agreement and quickly formed nine teams to search the hall. Yun Yin and Ye Wushuang were a team. At this moment, Yun Yin was carefully examining the stone pillars and walls, her expression dimming as she said, “It doesn’t seem like there’s anything strange…”

“Maybe not,” Ye Wushuang replied with a hint of certainty in his voice. “This pavilion has four floors. The first floor may look empty, but it’s not really.”

“What have you found?” Yun Yin asked, her face brightening with excitement.
