Ye Wushuang raised his sword, preparing to strike, but the figure lunged into his arms instead. A rather beautiful and aloof face, now pale and haggard, met his eyes.

“Save me!” A faint voice pleaded as the fragrant, soft body collapsed into Ye Wushuang’s embrace, unconsciousness overtaking her.

After gently lowering the woman to the ground, Ye Wushuang examined her more closely. Her skin was fair but now appeared quite pale. Lying there, her graceful figure was still evident beneath her light blue dress, with her dark hair tied around her waist. A terrible sword wound marred her chest, disrupting the overall beauty of her appearance.

Holding his sword, Ye Wushuang slowly squatted down and placed his hand on her pulse. He could sense the chaotic energy within her; she was indeed not pretending.

Looking at the corpses in the stream and then back at the woman, Ye Wushuang finally decided to gently lift her and head back to the secluded valley.

The moon hung high in the night sky, its soft light bathing the valley. Ye Wushuang placed the woman by the edge of the valley’s pool.

“Forgive me,” he murmured as he carefully undid her dress. Her porcelain skin and perfect figure were laid bare before him. However, Ye Wushuang did not linger his gaze for long. Instead, he scooped up some water from the pool to clean her wound.

Next, he crushed some medicinal herbs with his spiritual energy and gently applied them to the sword wound on her chest.

“Mmm…” The unconscious woman’s face twisted in pain, making her look even more pitiable.

If a man with weak self-control were to see such a beautiful and vulnerable body, he would likely be overwhelmed and act impulsively. But Ye Wushuang, having been the Emperor in a past life and having seen countless beautiful women, remained composed.

He patiently applied the herbs and took out a bone-healing pill, helping her swallow it. The woman’s injuries were not just on the surface; she had broken bones in her back, which caused the chaos in her spiritual energy.

After tending to her, Ye Wushuang removed her tattered dress and covered her with his own clothes.

The night passed quietly.

The next morning, Ye Wushuang awoke from his meditation to find a cold glint of steel at his neck. It was the woman he had saved the night before, her face still pale but with a hint of color returning.

Her pretty face was slightly cold, and her large, dark eyes regarded him with caution.

“Are you planning to kill your savior with a sword?” Ye Wushuang asked nonchalantly, flicking his finger to send the sword flying away. The woman, having expended too much energy, fell back to the ground.

“Don’t blame me for not warning you. Your broken bones haven’t healed yet. If you move around recklessly, the medicine I gave you might lose its effect, and your spiritual energy will become chaotic again… You might end up unconscious again,” he said.

The woman looked at him and asked, “Who are you?” Her tone was condescending.

“I’m the one who saved you,” Ye Wushuang replied, looking at her. “Don’t you even say thank you to your savior? Instead, you point a sword at me and act so high-and-mighty. Do you even know who I am?”

“Do you know who I am?” she retorted.

Ye Wushuang’s voice rose sharply as he said, “I don’t care who you are. I saved your life out of kindness. If you don’t know how to treat your savior properly, I suggest you go back to your mother’s womb and learn some manners!”

“You…” she stammered.

“What about me?” Ye Wushuang stood up and suddenly moved closer to her, grabbing her wrist with one hand. He looked straight into her eyes and said with a smile, “You have no strength left now. In this secluded valley, with just the two of us, if I were to suddenly feel lustful… Who do you think would save you from something unspeakable?”

Her face changed dramatically at his words. She quickly shut her mouth, trying to retreat, but he held her wrist firmly. Her heart pounded like a frightened deer, filled with terror.
