At the end of the street, at this moment, there seemed to be a rumbling vibration echoing through the air. However, in the blink of an eye, everyone saw several figures, moving at an astonishing speed, dashing towards the direction where the crowd was gathered.

“Who are they?”

“It seems they’re coming from the city center!”

“They appear to be of no small cultivation…”

In a short while, the figures had already appeared a hundred meters in front of the crowd.

“Wanyan Chuxue!”

“Li Yanran!”

“Hua Yuliu!”

As everyone recognized the identities of these individuals, their eyes widened in astonishment. These three were no ordinary figures.

Wanyan Chuxue was a prodigy from the Heavenly Mechanism Hall. Li Yanran hailed from the Li Clan. Hua Yuliu was a sacred maiden from Taiqing Palace. All three possessed formidable talents and strengths, and each had a unique charm that could captivate the heart.

Li Qingyao and Li Baifeng, upon seeing Li Yanran, quickly called out, “Yanran, what’s happening?”

Li Yanran, hearing their shouts and spotting the two, immediately responded with a single word: “Run!”

What?

Run?

Prince Yu Hao turned to Hua Yuliu, but before he could utter a word, she spoke in a cold and stern voice, “If you wish to live, run now!”

Shang Yunshang and Duan Xingqing also inquired of Wanyan Chuxue. With a seductive lilt in her voice, she replied, “Dear senior brothers, it’s best to flee swiftly. If you tarry, it will be too late to escape.”

At this point, even a fool could grasp the gravity of the situation. It was clear that something terrifying must have been chasing these three exceptional young women from the city center, where the blood-red pillar stood. Otherwise, why would these three, the finest of the three major powers, all concur in urging everyone to run?

Ji Ou slapped his bald head and shouted, “Don’t just stand there! Let’s get out of here!”

With that, over twenty disciples from Spirit Sword Mountain immediately turned and followed Mu Zili, Ji Ou, and Jiang Yihan as they began to flee.

“Brother Ye!”

Seeing that Ye Wushuang hadn’t moved, Ji Ou hurried back and grabbed him, urging, “Run!”

By this time, the others had already started running towards the city gates. They were only a dozen or so miles away; they should be able to make it out in time. Wanyan Chuxue, Hua Yuliu, and Li Yanran, coming from three different factions, surely wouldn’t deceive everyone like this!

“We won’t make it!”

Ye Wushuang, however, gazed at the distant blood-red pillar and said, “We can’t leave this place. Instead of running towards the city gates, let’s head for that green pillar and see if there’s a chance of survival!”

“Huh?”

Ji Ou was taken aback. They couldn’t escape? That was impossible! The city gates hadn’t closed yet; they had plenty of time to get out.

At this moment, warriors from the Seven Great Hegemons and various forces, though unaware of what was happening, were all retreating towards the city gates.

Ye Wushuang continued, “When that blood-red pillar rose into the sky just now, the entire city, both above and below, was sealed by an invisible barrier. There’s no way out!”

“Follow me!”

With that, Ye Wushuang took the lead and sprinted towards a green pillar to the left front.

Mu Zili, Jiang Yihan, and Ji Ou were all stunned.

“Brother Ye, you’re running the wrong way!” Jiang Yihan couldn’t help but shout. That direction led deeper into the city. Wasn’t that courting death?

“What do we do now?” Ji Ou wore an expression of utter helplessness.

Mu Zili glanced at the crowd heading towards the city gates, then at Ye Wushuang running towards the green pillar, and said, “Let’s follow Ye Wushuang!”

Immediately, the three of them, along with over twenty others, followed Ye Wushuang towards the green pillar.

Though the other disciples didn’t understand why, they chose to trust their core members.

When Ji Ou caught up with Ye Wushuang, he couldn’t help but say, “If you’re wrong about this, we’re all going to be done for because of you.”

Ye Wushuang, however, replied earnestly, “Escaping is definitely impossible. We can only hope to find a safe place within the city.”

Even as he spoke, they still didn’t know what the danger was. But as Ji Ou looked ahead at the streets, his mind went blank.

“Good heavens!”

Ji Ou stared in disbelief and muttered, “What on earth is that?”

Less than a hundred meters ahead, on the streets, figures in blood-red appeared. These figures looked like normal humans, but their clothes were tattered, and their flesh was severely decayed and corrupted. They resembled corpses that had been buried for several months, having rotted to a certain extent and then crawled out of their graves—terrifying and nauseating. Some were so decayed that there was no flesh left, just pure bone. Moreover, the bones of these figures were all blood-red.

These figures were also wielding spiritual weapons, their auras filled with killing intent as they pursued the crowd from the outside…
