Upon hearing the question, Tan Yuner snorted but remained silent.
Ye Wushuang wasted no time. He withdrew the Tianya Sword and slashed across Tan Yuner’s abdomen. Blood gushed out, and her face turned even paler.
“Answer what I ask, and don’t try to hide behind your status!”
At that moment, looking into the clear eyes of the young man in white, Tan Yuner felt an eerie chill.
“They’ve led a group into the ruins,” she finally said.
“Did they all go in?” Ye Wushuang pressed.
“No. We were ten, sent to hunt down Qing Shiyu. They went into the ruins first to check the situation,” Tan Yuner replied.
“Are there no others?” Ye Wushuang demanded.
“No more,” Tan Yuner quickly assured him.
“Very well,” Ye Wushuang said coldly, his sword flashing once more. Blood sprayed as Tan Yuner clutched her neck in disbelief, staring at Ye Wushuang.
Qing Shiyu, who had been sitting on a rock, leaped to her feet in shock. “Why did you kill her?”
Ye Wushuang countered, “They came to kill you. Would you spare her life?”
“Moreover, you mentioned Chu Yunsheng, Li Xiangwen, and Tan Yun’er, along with twenty other disciples from Qingyun Academy and their family reinforcements. But Tan Yuner claimed there were no others. Clearly, she wasn’t going to tell us the truth. Why keep someone like that alive?”
Qing Shiyu was momentarily speechless. It did seem logical, but Ye Wushuang’s ruthlessness was something she couldn’t process right away.
“But at least… we could have kept her as a hostage!” Qing Shiyu argued.
Ye Wushuang ignored her. A hostage? If Tan Yun’er had been in charge, holding Tan Yuner might have made sense. But with Chu Yunsheng leading the group and the involvement of a powerful Tian Gang realm relic, they wouldn’t change their plans for just one person like Tan Yuner.
With swift, decisive moves, Ye Wushuang dispatched the other two disciples at the eighth level of the Refining Body realm and disposed of their bodies. Then he turned to Qing Shiyu. “Stay here and heal. I’ll go check it out.”
“No…” Qing Shiyu quickly stood in front of him, her face anxious. “If those three could find us, others might too. What am I supposed to do if you leave?”
Ye Wushuang smiled. “You didn’t believe me when I said I’d help you avenge them. You’re afraid to stay here alone. So what do you want me to do?”
Qing Shiyu’s face twisted with indecision. “Wait a moment,” she said, sitting cross-legged on the ground. A faint glow from her fingertip revealed a pill in her hand.
Ye Wushuang’s eyes widened slightly. A second-grade spiritual pill! A Restorative Pill! A pill that would make even a Yuan Fu realm cultivator’s heart race.
Qing Shiyu was clearly more than just a disciple of Qingyun Academy.
With a look of reluctance, Qing Shiyu held the pill and said, “If I take this Restorative Pill, I should be able to recover most of my strength. I’ll go with you.”
She was about to put the pill in her mouth when Ye Wushuang’s voice stopped her. “If you don’t want to die, don’t take it yet.”
Qing Shiyu froze, the pill hovering at the edge of her lips. “But this is a second-grade spiritual pill, a divine healing pill. It’s the best for treating my internal bone injuries and external wounds…”
“I didn’t take it earlier because it’s too precious…” she added, though she didn’t mention that her severe injuries had left her unable to even open her storage ring until now.
Ye Wushuang shook his head. “Someone has injected their spiritual energy into you, disrupting the flow of your own energy. The foreign energy hasn’t been expelled yet.”
“This Restorative Pill is indeed a divine healing pill, but if you have someone else’s energy inside you, it will only amplify the damage that energy is causing to your body and kill you faster.”
Hearing this, Qing Shiyu was left stunned and speechless.
