**Peril Beckons?**

Yè Wúshuāng’s brow furrowed, a sign of impending trouble.

Yún Xīngjiàn sensed it too.

His gaze shifted forward.

Between the clouds, it seemed as if a web of swords lay in wait, ready to ensnare Chì Yuān and the four of them.

“Let’s land!” Yè Wúshuāng rose to his feet and spoke, “This time, it must be someone from the Seven Great Sects.”

Chì Yuān’s massive form began to descend slowly.

Below, in a forested area, his enormous body touched down, sending up a cloud of dust.

At that very moment, figures in the clouds looked on in astonishment.

“Huh?”

One of them exclaimed in surprise, “We’ve been detected? How is that possible!”

Another cursed, “Damn it, this Yè Wúshuāng—does he have such a strong sense of vigilance?”

“Stop wasting time and go down and kill him.”

“Right.”

Instantly, the figures plunged straight down from the clouds.

A terrifying aura spread throughout the forest.

A hundred or so figures dispersed in an orderly fashion, surrounding Yè Wúshuāng and his companions.

They were not scattered randomly; each one exuded a powerful, oppressive aura.

The realm of Wàn Fǎ!

Many of them were at the Wàn Fǎ level!

The two leaders had an especially formidable and domineering presence.

Yún Xīngjiàn’s expression changed slightly.

“Wàn Fǎ level seven!”

Such a level of warrior was almost nonexistent in the various empires.

Even within the Seven Great Sects of the Qingzhou Continent, those who reached the Wàn Fǎ level seven were highly esteemed.

“Little Leaf, you really do have a lot of enemies…” Yè Wúshuāng looked around.

These people were all disguised, making it impossible to tell which of the Seven Great Sects they belonged to.

“Dean, do you know which faction they’re from?”

Yún Xīngjiàn shook his head.

He knew very little about the Seven Great Sects.

“Yè Wúshuāng, facing death, do you still want to know whose hands you’re dying at?” A middle-aged man on the left, his face covered in a black veil and dressed in purple, sneered coldly.

“Isn’t it better to die knowing who your killer is?” Yè Wúshuāng smiled.

“You can still smile!”

The man on the right, with a hoarse and stern voice, said, “I’ll crush your skull and devour your heart with my own hands.”

“Human flesh doesn’t taste good.”

Yè Wúshuāng remarked, “Everyone can make threats, but… are you sure you can kill me?”

Upon hearing this, the onlookers were all taken aback.

Was this young man delusional?

They had received intelligence.

Yè Wúshuāng had the Eight-Winged Chìliàn Jiāo and Yún Xīngjiàn with him.

Yún Xīngjiàn was at the Wàn Fǎ level three.

The Eight-Winged Chìliàn Jiāo was merely at the Wàn Fǎ level one or two.

Their side had a dozen Wàn Fǎ warriors, and the two leaders were at the Wàn Fǎ level seven.

The rest were elite warriors at the middle or late Tīangāng realm.

Yet Yè Wúshuāng still thought he could escape?

The man in purple on the left said coldly, “Do you think Mù Jūnlí can save you?”

“Let me tell you the truth. Mù Jūnlí did send out a message and dispatched his confidants to escort you back.”

“But did you really think we wouldn’t anticipate that?”

“He is one of the Ten Protectors of the Jùjiàn Sect, but his abilities are limited.”

Upon hearing this, Yè Wúshuāng laughed and said, “So you’re not from the Jùjiàn Sect.”

“Tàiqīng Palace, Tiānyǎn Empire, Tiānjī Mansion, Shèngdān Sect, Lí Clan…”

The man on the right interrupted Yè Wúshuāng, snorting, “Stop guessing. The dead don’t need to know so much.”

The hundred or so people around them all looked cautious, their murderous intent palpable.

Yet Yè Wúshuāng was unfazed. With a step forward, he raised his hand and pointed ahead.

“Since you’re here, none of you… need to leave!”

Upon hearing Yè Wúshuāng’s words, the two leaders on either side furrowed their brows.

Was this guy scared out of his mind?

But then, in an instant, Chì Yuān’s body, which had shrunk to a few zhang in size, suddenly expanded by several times, even tens of times.

“Roar!!!”

A deafening roar echoed through the air, shaking the very ground beneath their feet.
