In the city of Liuyue, within the Yun Mansion, a courtyard was shrouded in an oppressive silence. Yun Qingyue stood there, her face pale with fury and her expression cold as she stared at the person before her.

“All twelve of them are dead?”

“Yes,” the guard replied, bowing his head. “The brothers Wang Xu and Wang Chang were both at the ninth level of cultivation. Killing Ye Wushuang should have been easy for them. But no one expected that another young man, around nineteen years old and at the Condensation Pulse realm, would appear by Ye Wushuang’s side. It was this youth who killed the brothers. Moreover, Ye Wushuang himself managed to slay four cultivators at the seventh level. He wields a sword with remarkable skill.”

“At that moment, I dared not get too close and could not see everything clearly, but I am certain that those ten men were killed by Ye Wushuang!”

“Silence!”

Yun Qingyue’s sharp command cut through the air. She crushed the teacup in her hand, tea spilling to the ground, but she paid it no mind.

“Ye Wushuang… how could this be…” Yun Qingyue’s voice was icy. “The Ye family must indeed possess some hidden treasures. Ye Wushuang has come back from the dead, and his martial prowess has increased dramatically. Everything about him seems suspicious.”

“What about the Qin family?”

The guard continued, “The Qin family seems to have already contacted the Qin clan in the capital. However, it will likely take a month for anyone from the clan to arrive…”

“A month, huh…” Yun Qingyue murmured to herself. “That should be enough time. No matter how talented this young man is, he can’t possibly reach the sixth or seventh level in just a month. By then, he won’t stand a chance against someone at the Condensation Pulse realm!”

“But I thought I had outsmarted Ye Wushuang, and instead, he has outsmarted me. How can I rest easy while Ye Wushuang is still alive?”

At that moment, someone from outside the courtyard entered and bowed deeply. “Miss, Young Master Qin Hao has arrived.”

“Understood.”

Yun Qingyue concealed her malevolent aura, stood up, and smoothed her dress. Her beautiful face broke into a smile that was captivating. She then walked gracefully towards the courtyard entrance.

“Brother Hao!”

Upon stepping outside, she saw a tall, dark-haired young man standing there, dressed in black and with an upright posture. It was none other than Qin Hao, the current rising star of the Qin family and the most prominent figure in the entire city of Liuyue.

“Qingyue…”

Qin Hao looked at Yun Qingyue with a hint of admiration in his eyes.

“Why have you come?”

Yun Qingyue’s voice was sweet as she said, “I heard that in a month, a mentor from Qingyun Academy will be coming to Liuyue City to conduct a disciple recruitment assessment. Our city has never been deemed worthy of such attention from Qingyun Academy before. I heard it’s all because of you.”

Qin Hao nodded. “That’s correct. When the news of my recall to the Qin clan spread, the clan decided to support me by arranging this special event.”

“The Qin clan is powerful, a significant force even within the Qingyun Empire. They have members who serve as mentors and elders at Qingyun Academy, so arranging this wasn’t difficult,” Qin Hao said with confidence in every gesture.

Qingyun Academy held an exalted status. The fact that this recruitment assessment was being held in Liuyue City solely because of Qin Hao was a testament to his extraordinary talent.

In reality, Qin Hao’s talent was not the only reason for his prominence. More importantly, he had awakened the bloodline power of the Qin clan. Bloodline power was an incredibly mysterious and potent force. Once a member of a family awakened their bloodline power, their talent and strength would be greatly enhanced. Such individuals were truly one in ten thousand, the cream of the crop.

Yun Qingyue then said, “Then I must congratulate you in advance, Brother Hao. You will be the star of this recruitment.”

“Qingyue, your talent is also exceptional. It won’t be difficult for you to enter Qingyun Academy. Make sure to show your best during this recruitment,” Qin Hao replied.

“Hmm…”

Yun Qingyue then asked, “How is Uncle Qin’s injury?”

At the mention of this, Qin Hao’s eyes darkened slightly. “His arm will never fully recover. Even after a month of rest, his strength will be significantly diminished. I truly underestimated Ye Wushuang…”

“But there is no need to worry,” Qin Hao continued, his tone turning light and dismissive.
