Is this guy really that easy to deal with?

He agreed to go to the Qingliao Tower for a month just like that?

The Qingliao Tower was specifically built by the Qingyun Academy to punish disciples who had committed grave mistakes but did not deserve death.

It was a living hell.

Some disciples thrown into the Qingliao Tower couldn’t survive a month; they might go insane.

“Are you playing mind games with me?” Li Changqing raised an eyebrow.

Ye Wushuang, however, smiled and said, “I killed Chu Mingyan within the academy. Although he deserved to die, it wasn’t my place to kill him. I made a mistake, and it’s only right that I be punished.”

Li Changqing continued, “The rewards you received for ranking first in the initial test and for being the top in this assessment will both be revoked.”

“Fine.”

“……”

Li Changqing felt something was off.

Ye Wushuang didn’t seem to care about the punishment and agreed readily.

Now, even when his rewards were being canceled, he didn’t seem to mind.

After all, both the Ximi Pool and the Shengyun Valley were coveted cultivation sanctuaries that inner court disciples dreamed of entering.

Yet Ye Wushuang walked forward and said with a smile, “The sword strike I promised Deputy Dean Li, I’ll demonstrate it for you now!”

Upon hearing this, Li Changqing’s eyes lit up.

He had been waiting for this moment for over a month.

Ye Wushuang took the sword from Li Changqing’s hand, stood in the valley, and gently raised his palm, causing the sword to gleam.

Then, he struck with a single sword slash.

It was light, faint, and seemingly powerless.

After the strike, Li Changqing looked somewhat bewildered.

However, Shangguan Rong and Bu Chenfeng, standing nearby, had strange expressions on their faces.

What was so profound about this ordinary sword strike?

There was nothing!

Ye Wushuang returned the sword to Li Changqing and said with a smile, “I’ll be in the Qingliao Tower for a month and won’t come out. But I need to go home first.”

With that, Ye Wushuang left.

In the valley, Li Changqing stood there, lost in thought for a long time.

It seemed like he had grasped something, but at the same time, it felt like he hadn’t grasped anything at all.

“Uncle Changqing…”

“Don’t speak.”

Li Changqing immediately raised his hand, grasped the sword, and struck with a single slash, frowning in confusion.

“Strange…”

Li Changqing’s brows furrowed as he seemed to be caught in a cycle of self-affirmation and self-doubt.

At that moment, figures approached from outside the valley.

“Shangguan Rong!”

“Bu Chenfeng!”

Chu Mingjie, accompanied by more than a dozen Chu clan elders, arrived with a menacing aura.

“Where is Ye Wushuang? Hand him over to me!”

Upon hearing this, Shangguan Rong and Bu Chenfeng merely glanced at Chu Mingjie without responding.

Chu Mingjie was an inner court elder, and so were the two of them. No matter how powerful the Chu clan was, they were not afraid!

“What are you shouting about?”

An annoyed voice rang out. Li Changqing was deeply immersed in contemplating Ye Wushuang’s sword strike, and Chu Mingjie’s arrival was truly irritating.

“Vice Dean Li!”

Chu Mingjie immediately said, “Ye Wushuang killed Chu Mingyan in public and even…”

“I already know about it,” Li Changqing interrupted directly, “I have already dealt with Ye Wushuang.”

Dealt with?

Killed?

Chu Mingjie continued to ask, “May I ask, Vice Dean Li, how did you deal with him?”

Li Changqing replied impatiently, “I sentenced him to a month in the Qingliao Tower!”

What?

Hearing this, Chu Mingjie was completely stunned.

The Qingliao Tower was a place for punishing disciples who had committed serious offenses, but what Ye Wushuang had done was not just a serious offense—it was a capital crime!

“Vice Dean Li, Ye Wushuang killed Chu Mingyan and Chu Gan in public and slaughtered fellow disciples. This is a capital offense. How can such a light punishment be given?” Chu Mingjie shouted, “Please, Vice Dean Li, hand this villain over to me. I will personally take him to the Qingyun Enforcement Pavilion and execute him!”

Hearing this, Li Changqing’s brows furrowed.
