Gazing at Mo Xiao, Ye Wushuang spoke once more: “This Yuanwu Five-Element Array is far from stable. Relying on such an array to seal away a berserk Condensation Realm practitioner is, of course, impossible.”

With these words, Ye Wushuang stepped outside the secret chamber. At that moment, around the Life-and-Death Arena, several guards of the Soul-Devouring Hall lay dead, their bodies mutilated and their flesh scattered, a gruesome sight to behold. Meanwhile, Mo Xuan, along with the others, continued to surround and attempt to subdue the frenzied Xiao Yuan.

“Hall Master Mo, please step back!” Ye Wushuang called out. As he spoke, he clenched his palm, and eight spiritual runes gathered within, interconnecting to form the character for “seal.”

“Seal!” he shouted, clenching his fist once more. Instantly, the spiritual runes hidden throughout the Soul-Devouring Hall’s Life-and-Death Arena, as if awakened, began to glow brightly. They converged, channeling their spiritual energy to resonate with the runes in Ye Wushuang’s palm. Around the raging Xiao Yuan, five beams of light suddenly appeared, coalescing into five talismans that swiftly enveloped his body.

Xiao Yuan roared in fury, pounding his fists against the talismans. Despite his immense strength and formidable destructive power, he found himself utterly powerless within the confines of the five talismans.

“Suppress!” Ye Wushuang bellowed, clasping his hands together. The character for “seal” within his palm merged seamlessly into the five talismans. With a loud bang, Xiao Yuan’s massive frame was pressed to the ground as if by a colossal mountain, immobilized.

At that moment, Mo Xuan, Mo Xiao, and the others stared in astonishment at the young man in white. Seeing Xiao Yuan subdued and unable to move, Mo Xuan approached Ye Wushuang and Mo Xiao, his voice filled with amazement. “Young Master Ye, you are also proficient in arrays?”

“A little bit,” Ye Wushuang replied modestly. Mo Xiao, however, inwardly scoffed. “A little bit”? A complex array composed of a spiritual array and more than ten ordinary arrays, effortlessly repaired and perfectly controlled— even a first-class spiritual array master would find that difficult!

In the entire Flowing Moon City, there were very few ordinary array masters, no more than ten, and not a single spiritual array master. If the Qin, Yun, Wei families, or the City Lord’s Wang family wanted to create protective arrays for their residences, they had to invite first-class spiritual array masters from the Imperial Capital. Sometimes, even with exorbitant payments, those masters would refuse to come.

Mo Xuan’s eyes widened in even greater astonishment as he looked at Ye Wushuang. “It seems that what the Yun family said is not the truth!” he said, bowing deeply. “Thank you, Young Master Ye, for your assistance. Otherwise, not only would the Soul-Devouring Hall have suffered more casualties today, but if Xiao Yuan had broken out, many in Flowing Moon City would have perished as well.”

Ye Wushuang simply nodded, without uttering a word. Mo Xuan bowed again and said, “Young Master Ye, I have a rather unreasonable request, and I hope you will agree.”

If it’s unreasonable, then don’t even mention it, Ye Wushuang thought to himself.

“Our Soul-Devouring Hall’s arrays, since you can repair them, you must be able to create a suitable protective array for us,” Mo Xuan continued. “I hope you can help us rebuild a new set of linked arrays. Of course, it won’t be for free.”

Mo Xuan immediately declared, “Ten thousand taels!”

Ten thousand taels?

Ye Wushuang’s heart skipped a beat. He was in dire need of money. The Ye family mansion needed repairs, and he needed to hire maids and servants. He also had to lay the foundation for his sister’s cultivation and pay for his uncle’s medical treatment. All of these required funds.

Seeing Ye Wushuang’s silence, Mo Xuan gritted his teeth and said, “If Young Master Ye can help us create a linked array stronger than this Yuanwu Five-Element Array, I am willing to pay twenty thousand taels, twenty thousand taels of gold!”

Huh?

Wait a minute?

Gold?

For just a first-class spiritual array, is it really worth that much?
