After Xuan Qingyi’s words, Mu Ge was momentarily at a loss for words.
The two walked side by side under the moonlight in the manor, their shadows stretching long behind them.
  ”Actually…”
Mu Ge opened his mouth, but stopped halfway through his sentence.
  ”What?”
Seeing her husband hesitate, Xuan Qingyi couldn’t help but ask.
  ”What’s wrong with you?”
  ”I… I… well… you and Ye Wushuang…”
  ”What are you thinking about?”
Xuan Qingyi looked at Muge, her face full of astonishment, then covered her mouth and let out a giggle.
Then, Xuan Qingyi said earnestly: “Back then, I was still young, and of course, Ling Shengtian was also young. When we met, it wasn”t at all like the rumors outside suggested. It was more about my respect and admiration for him, like… seeing him as an elder brother.”
Xuan Qingyi slapped Muge’s chest and couldn’t help but scold: “What’s going on in your head? If I didn’t love you, would I have married you? Would I have had children with you? No wonder I’ve noticed you’ve been a bit off these past few days.”
Muge grinned and said: “My bad, I overthought it.”
”If you keep overthinking like this in the future, I really won”t stay with you.”
  ”I won’t, I won’t…”
The couple embraced and strolled along the garden, peaceful and content.
Under the night moon, Tuotian City looked incredibly serene.
At this moment, Ye Wushuang stood atop a high tower, gazing into the distance.
During the day, the entire Tuotian City appeared majestic and solemn, exuding an air of lofty nobility everywhere.
But at night, within the city’s districts, the pavilions, palaces, and towers faintly bore unique swirling patterns, appearing and disappearing intermittently.
It is these patterns that protect the houses within the Tuotian City.
During the day, no conflicts can occur.
At night, every house becomes like a safe haven.
This is likely due to some alteration in the natural order, most probably influenced by the effects of an array.
Earlier, groups of people arrived here, surely having considered this point, yet until now, the root cause remains undiscovered.
Such a method, capable of enveloping an ancient city spanning hundreds of miles under an array and operating by unique rules, is beyond the reach of even ordinary Sages.
  ”Have you noticed anything?”
A voice sounded by his ear, tinged with amusement.
”Although Elder Zhou no longer possesses the strength of a Sage, he should have discerned more than I have.”
Ye Wushuang looked at Zhou Yuan, who had appeared beside him, and said with a chuckle.
Zhou Yuan teased, “When you need something, you call me ‘Elder Zhou’ so eagerly, but when you don’t, ‘Zhou Yuan’ rolls off your tongue quite smoothly!”
Ye Wushuang laughed heartily but said nothing.
Gazing at the Tuotian City under the night sky, Zhou Yuan remarked, “First, tell me how you recognized the three characters ‘Tuotian City’?”
Those three ancient characters were also unfamiliar to Zhou Yuan.
Yet Ye Wushuang recognized them at a glance—this was anything but ordinary.
”Actually, those are the simplest characters we all know, but… they contain a touch of immortal aura, making the strokes complex and causing everyone to not recognize them.”
Ye Wushuang said directly: “To put it plainly… those are characters written by an immortal!”
  Written by an immortal!
Zhou Yuan exclaimed in astonishment: “Do immortals truly exist in this world?”
  ”Of course!”
Ye Wushuang pointed to the heavens and said solemnly: “The immortals above are watching us, Elder. You must not doubt the reality of immortals.”
”You brat…” Zhou Yuan chuckled and scolded, but seeing Ye Wushuang’s still serious expression, he paused and asked: “Really?”
  ”Really!”
Ye Wushuang continued: “Elder, you hail from the Xuanyu Realm, but do you know how vast the world beyond Xuanyu is?”
  Zhou Yuan shook his head.
Ye Wushuang went on: “Just within Qingzhou, a region under the Tianyuan Continent, there are hundreds of millions of humans living. How many humans are there across the entire Tianyuan Continent?”
”And how many Tianyuan Continents would the Xuanyu Realm compare to?”
”Beyond the Xuanyu Realm lies an even more boundless world, where mortal realms hold countless trillions of living beings!”
As he spoke, Ye Wushuang pointed at the night sky and couldn’t help but say: “Just like these countless stars, they are beyond numbering.”
”And among these trillions upon trillions of living beings, whether human or beast, to become immortal, one must tread step by step to the pinnacle of the mortal world. This single requirement alone eliminates ninety-nine out of a hundred people and beasts.”
”And of the remaining less than one percent who reach the pinnacle of the mortal world, perhaps only one percent of them can truly ascend, shattering the void, stepping into the heavens as immortals, reaching the mysterious and unfathomable… Immortal Realm!!!”
Listening to Ye Wushuang’s words, Zhou Yuan momentarily felt his own insignificance.
After a long pause, Zhou Yuan asked, “You mean this is a trace of the immortals? But how could that be? The gap between mortals and immortals is so vast. How could there be traces of immortals on this mere Tianyuan Continent?”
”That”s exactly what puzzles me too.”
Ye Wushuang said, “The black jade held by Tao Qingyang we encountered earlier was actually the blood of an immortal—though diluted countless times, it was genuine!”
”The three large characters on the ancient city gate also contain traces of immortal principles, which is why no one could recognize them.”
”Based on these two points alone, this place is indeed a trace of the immortals.”
Ye Wushuang looked around and said calmly, “I have a rough guess.”
”Do tell,” Zhou Yuan replied with great curiosity.
”There is a vast difference between mortals and immortals, an immense gap, but this world is not entirely unchanging. Perhaps… within the immortal realm, an immortal might encounter some mishap, and by sheer coincidence, perish, then for unknown reasons, fall into the mortal world. This ancient site could simply be what that immortal left behind before death.”
”Of course, it’s also possible that this Burial Saint Grotto is just an exceedingly tiny fragment of what they left behind, and in the broader expanse of the world, other ancient relics remain.”
Hearing this, Zhou Yuan’s eyes lit up as he said, “It suddenly occurred to me—I once read in ancient texts that celestial anomalies sometimes accompany inexplicable, supernatural events. Perhaps it was precisely an immortal descending from the immortal realm into the mortal world.”
  ”Hmm…”
In truth, Ye Wushuang couldn’t definitively conclude that this was an immortal’s ancient site based solely on the two points he mentioned.
After all, he knew all too well the enormous chasm that exists between mortals and immortals.
A small place like the Tianyuan Continent was indeed unlikely to bear traces of immortals.
But in this world, nothing can be said for certain.
If an immortal perished, perhaps caught in some spatial turbulence within the immortal realm, they might truly leave traces behind in the mortal world after being swept along.
Yet even if this place truly was an immortal’s ancient site, for one, it’s impossible to know how many years have passed, and for another, what remnants still remain. Any traces of the ancients that could be uncovered would likely be exceedingly sparse…”
But even so, for those at the Star-Plucking and Reckless Realm levels, it remains a tremendous opportunity.
And such an opportunity is rare and hard to come by.
Ye Wushuang looked at Zhou Yuan and smiled, saying, “I’m not here with you, elder, to admire the moonlight or engage in idle speculation. There must be an incredibly vast and magnificent grand array covering this place. Though the array’s power may have waned over time, it’s still far beyond what you or I can easily alter.”
  Zhou Yuan nodded.
”So…” Ye Wushuang continued, “Elder Zhou, have you figured out which part of this ancient city feels the most off to you?”
