The blood on the ground bubbled into grotesque humanoid monsters, each wielding twisted replicas of real weapons. Without hesitation, they surged toward Yu Long, Yu Tong, and Yu Mingxing.

Of the three, Yu Tong and Yu Mingxing were both at the seventh level of the Void-Transcending Realm, while Yu Long’s spiritual energy surged with greater intensity—though he had not yet reached the Star-Severing Realm. The blood monsters matched them in strength, mostly at the Void-Transcending level.

At first, the trio held their own, but as more monsters materialized, they were gradually surrounded, trapped with no escape. Wounds began to dot their bodies, despair creeping in as they realized survival was impossible. In less than a quarter of an hour, three mutilated corpses lay crumpled in pools of blood.

Their blood merged with the ground’s crimson tide, flowing back into the blood-red eye and intensifying its eerie glow. Soon, the scene reverted to its original state—no trace of blood remained, only the干瘪 bodies of the three Yu warriors.

Another hour passed before Ye Wushuang emerged from the mist. Approaching the hovering blood eye, he met its gaze, but it remained inert. Glancing briefly at the corpses, he dismissed them—they had brought their deaths upon themselves.

Sitting cross-legged before the eye, Ye Wushuang channeled his spiritual energy, tracing intricate spirit runes in the air. These runes coiled into complex characters, forming chains that wrapped around the blood eye. Only when fully prepared did he rise.

**”Blood Eye Celestial Nether Array!”** he declared. “A newly established array would crush my seventh-level Void-Transcending power, but your reaction to those three suggested weakness. This array is ancient, its core damaged. Perhaps I can… *control* you.”

With a clench of his fists, the rune-chains snapped tight around the eye.
**BOOM—**
Blood mist erupted, a deafening roar shaking the sky. Ye Wushuang flicked a beam of light into the eye, which retaliated by spewing blood to dissolve the chains. Man and eye strained against each other, a silent battle of wills.

When the dust settled, Ye Wushuang stood pale and gasping beneath the eye. Its crimson gaze still burned, but now countless runes swirled within its pupil.
**”Success.”** He smirked. “Now, let’s see what you can do.”

With a wave, the eye projected crystalline light screens, each revealing figures lost in the mist.
**”All Yu family members…”** Ye Wushuang noted, eyebrows rising. Though Yu Feiyun and three others were dead, eleven or twelve remained, struggling to navigate the fog.
**”I’ll do you a kindness—send these lost lambs home.”**

The eye unleashed torrents of blood mist, which morphed into ferocious beasts that vanished into the fog. Moments later, in one mist-shrouded corner, two fourth-level Void-Transcending Yu warriors fell to a pack of similarly ranked monsters. Across the array, identical scenes unfolded—the remaining Yu family members were torn apart, their blood absorbed by the eye to fuel its power.

**”Feeding on their blood strengthens you. Interesting.”**
As the array’s core, the blood eye served as both brain and枢纽 (hub), with the fog acting as sensory tendrils to detect intruders and dispatch hunters.
**”What if the fog spread beyond the plaza?”** Ye Wushuang mused. **”Worth a try.”**

At his command, the thick mist began to thin, rolling outward to cover the mountain’s summit.

Meanwhile, on another part of the peak, Qi Zhenzhong, Qi Zhentian, Qi Zhenshan, and Zhao Tianqing stood before a stretch of残破宫殿 (ruined palaces) with their group.
**”Where are Yu Feiyun and his men?”** Qi Zhenzhong asked.
**”Could something have happened to them?”** Zhao Tianqing fretted.
**”Unlikely,”** Qi Zhentian reasoned. “Nine teams climbed the mountain. Our eight teams lost some Void-Transcending warriors but made it up with Star-Severing leaders. They must be here somewhere.”
**”Speculation won’t help,”** Qi Zhenshan interrupted. “Let’s search these palaces. Maybe they arrived ahead of us.”

As the group nodded and advanced, a thin layer of mist began to swirl around the ancient ruins…
