Ye Wushuang’s脚步 (steps) halted abruptly, his entire body stiffening as every ounce of strength surged through him. He raised his fist and unleashed a thunderous blow.

**BOOM—**
A dull explosion reverberated.
Ye Wushuang staggered on the spot, nearly rolling down the stairs. Blood trickled from the back of his left hand as his fist unclenched.

In an instant, the howling wind returned, condensing into blade-like gusts sharper than steel, slicing toward him.
**”Seven Revolutions Saint Body Technique!”**
He barked, and six spiritual meridians shimmered across his skin.
Drawing the Taiyuan Spirit Sword, he unleashed streams of sword qi. By now, Ye Wushuang realized the Yu family group ahead must have endured similar trials—and while they’d passed, the ordeal would repeat for anyone following.
In other words, he had to traverse the same path they had.

The wind-blade attacks were colder and more brutal than the sword sea. Even with his immense strength, Ye Wushuang sustained multiple gashes, his clothes staining red. As he climbed, bizarre attacks came in endless waves. But with the three-legged cauldron nullifying the repulsive force, he could focus entirely on defense. Though wounded, he finally reached the summit safely.

On the black steps, he found残破的肢体 (mangled remains) of Yu family warriors—clear evidence they’d had no chance to recover their fallen.

Reaching the top, he found not a peak but a vast plaza.
The plaza was paved with pale青色 (azure) jade, scattered with irregular stone pillars. Each pillar, over ten feet tall and several feet thick, bore carvings of strange spirit beasts at their tops.
No sign of the Yu family remained.

At the plaza’s end stood a row of magnificent palaces. Instead of rushing in, Ye Wushuang sat cross-legged and swallowed a Nine-Flower Jade Dew Pill.
As the pill dissolved, his meridians and blood surged back to life. This seventh-grade spiritual pill, requiring nine rare灵花 (spirit flowers) to craft, was rarer than most eighth-grade pills despite its lower rank.

Half an hour later, he exhaled, rose, and changed into a clean white robe, fully rejuvenated.

Stepping into the plaza, his脚步 (steps) faltered. From the outside, it had seemed ordinary, but now mist coiled around him, and eerie sobs echoed, sending chills down his spine.
**”An illusion array…”**
He gripped the Taiyuan Sword, nerves taut.

A sudden *whoosh* cut through the air, the hair-raising aura intensifying. From the left mist surged a nine-foot stallion, its body covered in obsidian scales and blazing flames, hooves pounding toward him.
Without hesitation, Ye Wushuang swung a fist.
**BOOM!!**
The ground trembled as shockwaves rippled outward, dispersing much of the fog. He staggered, a dull ache lingering in his core.
Studying the creature, he frowned—it was identical to the spirit beasts carved atop the pillars.
**”So it is an illusion array!”**
His grip on the sword tightened, killing intent blazing. Since the climb, every crisis had forced him to push his limits, and now he felt his control over sixth-realm spiritual power steadily improving. Such a rare opportunity for growth couldn’t be wasted.

**”Come!”**
He charged, blade drawn, clashing with the flaming stallion.
**Seven Revolutions Saint Body Technique!**
**Nine Heavens Profound Fire Sword Technique!**
The two peerless techniques merged seamlessly. By now, Ye Wushuang wielded them with mastery, their combined power devastating.

**BOOM BOOM BOOM…**
Spiritual energy erupted around him, shattering as his sword struck the beast again and again. After relentless assaults, the massive stallion collapsed, its life force fading. In its final moment, it condensed into a stream of pure spiritual energy that surged into Ye Wushuang’s body.

Instantly, a磅礴之力 (tremendous power) flooded his meridians, igniting his spiritual energy like a bomb.
**”What the—?!”**
He stood stunned as his energy reserve surged, catapulting his sixth-realm capacity to a terrifying new level.
**”Breakthrough?!”**
His脸色 (expression) darkened. Though he’d adapted to sixth-realm power, he hadn’t reached perfection. Rushing the breakthrough would weaken his foundation—a grave risk. In martial cultivation, prioritizing speed over stability might boost progress short-term, but it would stall advancement later, even for those who relied on pills.

Steady, incremental growth was the only path to limitless potential. A hasty leap to seventh realm now would leave flaws he’d have to spend years fixing. But the energy flooding his body was impossible to expel.

**”Fine then.”**
He sighed, sitting to guide the energy through repeated cycles. Less than half an hour later, his eyes opened—not in triumph, but in frustration.
This opportunity was the last thing he wanted! The transition from sixth to seventh realm had been too abrupt, even for him.

Clenching his fists, he murmured, **”I’ll have to put in extra effort to mend these flaws…”**
Before he could dwell, a sudden whistle pierced the air, and a figure emerged from the thick mist…
