The two of them fell to the ground, one after the other.

The entire temple remained dilapidated as ever. On the ground lay the two men, and apart from them, there was only the incense, its faint smoke drifting and swirling within the hall.

“Hm?”

In a daze,

Ye Wushuang opened his eyes, feeling a heavy weight on his body.

He looked down to see Tang Bingwen lying on top of him.

“Bingwen, get up…”

Ye Wushuang called out softly.

Tang Bingwen rubbed his eyes groggily and sat up, exclaiming, “Oh dear, did we just fall asleep?”

“Look around and tell me where we are!” Ye Wushuang said.

Tang Bingwen took in their surroundings.

“This… is still that temple?” Tang Bingwen said in astonishment. “How has it changed completely?”

The temple they had entered earlier was in ruins, desolate and covered in dust. But the scene before them now was entirely different. The temple hall, with its seven statues, was lifelike and vivid. The offerings and burning incense on the altar were all in place. The floor looked clean and spotless, without a speck of dust.

Without a word, Ye Wushuang got up and walked toward the exit.

He pushed open the door and looked outside. The courtyard outside the hall had several ancient trees standing tall, and the bluestone floor was clean and tidy. A few young Taoist priests were diligently sweeping away the dust in the corners.

The main gate, which had been in ruins before, now looked solemn and majestic.

“Brother, what’s going on here?” Tang Bingwen scratched the back of his head, puzzled.

“We must have entered someone else’s dream,” Ye Wushuang said.

A dream?

Upon hearing this, Tang Bingwen raised his hand and slapped his face hard.

*Crack!*

The sound of the slap echoed clearly, leaving a red mark on his face.

“Brother, it hurts!!”

Ye Wushuang looked at Tang Bingwen, speechless for a moment.

“Of course it hurts when you slap yourself that hard!”

“But you said this is a dream! You’re not supposed to feel pain in a dream!”

…

After a pause, Ye Wushuang finally said, “This is a dream constructed by someone else, and we’ve been drawn into it. If we die here, we won’t be able to wake up in reality.”

Hearing this, Tang Bingwen stood there, stunned.

The two of them walked down the steps. At that moment, under an ancient tree with a sprawling canopy in the courtyard, a middle-aged man dressed in a blue robe was smiling and waving at them.

Ye Wushuang sized up the man and approached him.

“You can tell this is a dream I’ve set up. You have quite an eye, young man…” the middle-aged man said with a smile.

“Have a seat, don’t be too formal,” he added cheerfully. “If I wanted to harm you, I wouldn’t need to do it in this dream.”

Ye Wushuang sat down gracefully, while Tang Bingwen stood behind him, glancing around cautiously.

“To reach this place at the Ego-Tribulation level is truly remarkable,” the middle-aged man said with a smile. “The void space I left behind is difficult for anyone below the Saint level. Of course, those with exceptional talent can make it here.”

The challenges Ye Wushuang had faced along the way, including the encounters with Black Duck, Xiao Ziyin, and the strange beasts on the mountain, seemed simple enough. But if a Saint were to attempt the journey, the trials would not be limited to the initial Star-Plucking level beasts.

Different people, depending on their cultivation levels, faced different trials. However, one thing was certain: anyone who made it this far was undoubtedly qualified and possessed extraordinary talent and insight.

“My name is Tao Qingyang,” the middle-aged man said with a smile.

Tao Qingyang?

Upon hearing this name, Ye Wushuang’s eyebrows raised slightly.

Tao Qingyang appeared to be in his early thirties, with smooth, long hair and a tall, slender figure. Sitting on a stone stool, he exuded an ethereal and otherworldly aura.

Moreover, the occasional flow of energy from within him made it clear that he was indeed a Saint.

In reality, the Tianyuan Continent, along with the four surrounding continents, might not have a single Saint. Yet within the Burial Saint Cave in the Central Continent, the remains of numerous Saints lay buried.

In his early years, as the Ling Shengtian, Ye Wushuang had entered and exited the Burial Saint Cave several times, but clearly, there were many secrets here that he had not uncovered back then.

“My name is Ye Wushuang.”

“My name is Tang Bingwen.”

Tao Qingyang looked at the two of them, poured a cup of tea with a smile, took a sip, and then said, “I come from the Xuanyuan Domain!”

“The Tianyuan Continent is also a part of the Xuanyuan Domain, but it is a low-tier continent and not very prominent.”

The two of them did not ask any questions, but Tao Qingyang began to tell his story.

“Once, I obtained a meteorite that fell from the sky in the Xuanyuan Domain. This meteorite stirred with intent several times.

“I carried the meteorite with me day and night, nurturing it constantly. In return, it emanated a gentle energy that nourished my saintly soul and spirit, allowing my cultivation to progress rapidly.”

Tao Qingyang continued his tale.

“But over time, the meteorite began to disturb my thoughts daily, guiding me to leave the Xuanyuan Domain and come to the Tianyuan Continent, to the Burial Saint Cave.

“When I arrived on the Tianyuan Continent, there were very few Star-Plucking level warriors here. So, I had no worries about such a barren and remote place.

“Even so, I spent some time back then and established a force on the Tianyuan Continent, named Qingyang Hall. I wonder if it still exists…”

Ye Wushuang nodded and said, “It does. Qingyang Hall is now one of the top ten forces on the Central Continent of the Tianyuan Continent.”

Tao Qingyang!

The name sounded familiar to Ye Wushuang. He associated it with the history of Qingyang Hall’s development.

Many years ago, Qingyang Hall was not yet Qingyang Hall, but a force of the Qing family. It was said that they received guidance from a wise person!

The Qing family developed over the years and eventually formed Qingyang Hall. According to the records of Qingyang Hall, that wise person was named Tao Qingyang.

The name Qingyang Hall was chosen by the Qing family to honor this divine figure.

Ye Wushuang had not previously connected the dots to realize that the person before him was the very one recorded in Qingyang Hall’s history. But now that Tao Qingyang had spoken it himself, it was certain.

“One of the top ten forces?” Tao Qingyang said with a hint of curiosity. “So it hasn’t unified the Tianyuan Continent yet?”
