“Miss Mo Xiao, why are you personally stepping onto the stage today?”

“Is that so? Could it be that you’re planning to join a match yourself?”

“If you were to fight, I reckon no one would dare step onto this arena!”

Clearly, Miss Mo Xiao held a significant position within the Soul-Devouring Hall. Although people spoke to her, none dared to make any indecent remarks.

Mo Xiao smiled gracefully and announced, “The next match will feature Number Ninety-Seven, Prince Extinguishing Clouds, at the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage!”

“Who dares to step up and face him?”

As Mo Xiao’s words hung in the air, the crowd fell into a momentary stupor.

Extinguishing Clouds?

Who is he?

Never heard of him.

They then looked at the figure standing beside Mo Xiao, clad in a clean, plain white robe, wearing a mask, and appearing somewhat slender—obviously a young man of sixteen or seventeen.

Is this the person?

“Miss Mo Xiao, you’re not joking, are you? Him? The men here could crush his little bones to dust!” someone shouted.

Mo Xiao responded with a serene smile, her expression captivating. “Once on the Life-or-Death Arena, the Soul-Devouring Hall never jokes around!”

“I’ll take him on!”

At that moment, a thin and gaunt man, looking to be in his thirties, with yellowed teeth and a dagger tucked into his waist, stepped onto the arena.

“Seems like this young fellow doesn’t know his place, coming here for fun. Be careful, or you might lose your life,” the gaunt man sneered.

Ye Wushuang glanced at the man and said indifferently, “Let’s begin.”

The gaunt man was taken aback. Typically, first-timers on the Life-or-Death Arena would be nervous to some extent, but this young man seemed utterly unfazed.

“Quite the show-off, aren’t you?”

The gaunt man grinned, revealing his teeth. “Number Ninety-One, Wang Yuan.”

Ye Wushuang looked at him and repeated, “Number Ninety-Seven, Extinguishing Clouds.”

They took their positions.

Mo Xiao descended from the arena and smiled, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t forget to place your bets.”

“Wang Yuan is a seasoned veteran. He’s gotten lucky again this time…”

“This Extinguishing Clouds is going to be minced meat.”

“Why are you hesitating? Hurry up and place your bets. It’ll be too late if you don’t.”

At that moment, the crowd rushed to the registration corner of the arena to place their bets. Almost unanimously, they bet on Wang Yuan’s victory.

Veteran warriors who frequented the Life-or-Death Arena knew a thing or two. Wang Yuan, at the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage, had been stuck there for years. He was a slippery character, never stepping onto the arena when he faced tough opponents, but always eager to fight when he saw an easy target.

Wang Yuan had fought several times on the Life-or-Death Arena and had never lost, earning several thousand taels of silver in the process. His skill with the dagger was extraordinary, and he never relied on brute force.

Now, as the two combatants stood ready, the crowd watched with bated breath.

A spiritual formation rose around the vast arena. After all, a match at the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage could be highly destructive, and the formation was necessary to maintain the stability of the arena. In fact, the entire Soul-Devouring Hall was interconnected with numerous spiritual formations.

The Soul-Devouring Hall was involved in some shady dealings and was prone to retaliation. Without the protection of these formations, if someone came to cause trouble today and another person tomorrow, the hall wouldn’t be able to function.

“Kid, the Life-or-Death Arena is not a place for fun. It’s a place where lives are on the line. Be careful, or you might lose yours,” Wang Yuan chuckled, his hand already reaching behind his back.

Ye Wushuang remained silent, clenching his fists and slightly bending his body.

Seeing this, Miss Mo Xiao’s eyes lit up again, and her expression turned even more astonished.
