“Hmm.”

“Interesting, truly interesting,” Mo Xiao chuckled, “This morning, you were on the brink of death, and now in the afternoon, you’re here at my Soul-Devouring Hall, participating in the Life-or-Death Arena.”

Mo Xiao continued, “The rules of the Life-or-Death Arena are quite simple. Once you step onto the arena, you’ll fight against a warrior of the same cultivation level. For those in the first to third levels of cultivation, if you win a match, my Soul-Devouring Hall will reward you with a hundred taels of silver. If you lose, well, you’ll be dead, and naturally, there won’t be any silver for you.”

Mo Xiao reached out and picked up a token from the table, which bore a number.

Number ninety-seven!

“This is Prince Ye’s token,” she said. “If you win, use this token to claim your silver. If you die, well, that’s not your concern anymore.”

Ye Wushuang took the token and fastened it to his waist, then casually asked, “I’d like to know, how much is the reward for winning a match at the fifth level of cultivation?”

Upon hearing this, Mo Xiao was taken aback for a moment, her eyes filled with astonishment.

“Interesting, truly interesting!”

Mo Xiao looked at Ye Wushuang with a smile and said, “For the fifth level of cultivation, the reward for winning a match is five hundred taels of silver!”

“Then arrange a Life-or-Death match for me at the fifth level,” Ye Wushuang declared. “I am currently at the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage.”

Mo Xiao’s eyes brightened. “Very well.”

“Wait a moment,” Ye Wushuang interjected. “There’s no rule here that requires us to show our true faces, is there?”

“No, there isn’t,” Mo Xiao replied.

With that, Ye Wushuang took out a mask he had prepared and placed it over his face. He spoke calmly, “I’ve heard that the Soul-Devouring Hall is extremely strict about its rules. I trust that you, Miss Mo Xiao, won’t casually reveal my identity to others.”

“From now on, I am Number Ninety-Seven, Extinguishing Clouds.”

Mo Xiao, as the head of the Soul-Devouring Hall, was well-informed and knew about Ye Wushuang’s connection with the Yun family. She now understood why Ye Wushuang wanted to conceal his identity.

“Don’t worry, I’m looking forward to your performance,” Mo Xiao said, her slender waist twisting gracefully as she opened the door and led Ye Wushuang to a large arena.

On the arena, two figures were locked in combat.

The rules of the Life-or-Death Arena at the Soul-Devouring Hall were simple: killing your opponent meant victory.

At that moment, both combatants were at the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage.

One of them wielded a broadsword, and with each swing, the wind howled and the blade’s technique was powerful and domineering.

The other fought with bare hands, his boxing skills formidable.

The two warriors at the same cultivation level were surrounded by a crowd, shouting and cheering.

These onlookers were not just spectators; they were also gamblers who had placed bets.

This was how the Soul-Devouring Hall profited from the Life-or-Death Arena!

The winner of the match between two warriors of the same cultivation level would receive a reward from the Soul-Devouring Hall, while the hall itself made money from the bets placed by the audience.

The fight between the two had reached a fever pitch, with the bare-handed warrior currently holding the upper hand. His punches were relentless, severely hindering the momentum of his opponent’s blade, preventing the latter from unleashing his true strength.

At the fifth level of the Physical Refining Stage, the sheer physical strength alone was equivalent to that of thirty-six oxen. Combined with martial techniques, the power was truly terrifying.

Ye Wushuang stood by and watched without saying a word.

Mo Xiao, standing next to Ye Wushuang at the edge of the arena, leaned closer and smiled, “Mr. Ye… Mr. Extinguishing Clouds, who do you think will win?”

“The one with the blade,” Ye Wushuang replied simply.

“Oh? But right now, it seems that the one with the excellent boxing skills is in the dominant position…” Mo Xiao smiled but said nothing more.

At that very moment.

Boom…

Suddenly, the warrior with the broadsword swung down his blade, aiming directly at his opponent. However, the bare-handed warrior sneered, having anticipated the move. He brought his fists together and unleashed a powerful strike.

As the blade and the fist energy were about to collide, in an instant, the blade-wielding warrior’s hands suddenly surged with an additional force, increasing his speed and causing the blade to fall even faster, striking directly at his opponent’s forehead.

A sickening sound rang out.

The bare-handed warrior’s head was split open, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere as he collapsed onto the arena floor.

The crowd erupted into a cacophony of curses and ecstatic cheers.

Mo Xiao glanced curiously at Ye Wushuang.

A Soul-Devouring Hall warrior responsible for recording the match announced loudly, “Number seventy-six, Lu Meng, wins!”

Lu Meng, shouldering his greatsword, walked off the arena.

At that moment, Mo Xiao stepped onto the arena.

Her tall and graceful figure, her voluptuous form, and her captivating aura left some onlookers drooling.
