Chapter 96: It Was Indeed Master Tina
When Tina heard reports from the townspeople about strangers from the Holy Alliance, she felt a slight shock.
“Are there really remnants of the Holy Alliance…” she murmured.
Construction in the Southern New Development Zone was almost complete. Beyond selecting and training staff for the agricultural center, most facilities—farms, ranches, breeding grounds, and fishponds—were already operational.
Tina’s daily work had become quite manageable. Along with Uncle Maider, whom she hired for twenty copper coins a day, and the Hillenbrand Town residents who volunteered as “temporary municipal officials,” all had settled into the leisurely pace of life that Lolth envisioned.
They were so relaxed they could only idle away their days!
Even the residents managing partial projects in various areas discovered that, with the help of automatic irrigation, feeding systems, temperature control magic arrays, and convenient new farming tools, their daily work required minimal effort after completing their training.
Everyone once again praised Master Lolth’s generosity. Despite their light workload, they owned a substantial portion of the agricultural products they produced! Moreover, planting the new crops on Master Lolth’s land would, according to Master Tina, increase the harvest several times over!
Not only had famine become a distant memory, but they now had surplus food to sell or exchange! The residents of Hillenbrand Town gradually understood Lolth’s far-sighted vision in establishing the “agricultural market.”
So when news of the “Holy Alliance” appearing outside town reached the Southern New Development Zone, most people began taking action before Tina could even issue instructions.
“What? The Holy Alliance?”
“I know, it’s the alliance formed by those nobles who oppose Master Lolth!”
“They constantly slander Master Lolth and the demon race!”
“Yes, they even dare use protecting us from the demon race as an excuse to collect taxes…”
“I think they’re just protecting their own interests!”
“Let’s grab our tools and show them who’s boss!”
“Exactly! Some people have already seen them—there were only seventy or eighty individuals, and they all looked like vagrants!”
“Even if they’re Superoperators and noble lords, we still have Master Tina on our side!”
With everyone talking at once, Tina paused her not-so-urgent work and made a decision.
“Since Master Lolth entrusted Hillenbrand Town to me, I will take good care of it for her! The townspeople’s loyalty to Master Lolth is remarkable—she truly deserves her title! Let’s go check the north side of town!”
After making this decision, Tina left the temporary City Hall on the farmer’s market’s third floor.
“Let’s see what these Holy Alliance deserters are up to!” she announced to the gathering crowd below, drawing cheers.
“Yes! Master Tina!”
“For Hillenbrand!”
A group of around seventy to eighty people marched northward in a grand procession. At the town’s edge, the two groups finally met!
From several tens of meters away, Tina observed the eleven elves among the diverse group, feeling an unusual stirring in her heart. However, she quickly suppressed her inner turmoil! The Hillenbrand Town residents stood behind her, barely noticing the other group’s condition.
Indeed, this group, having been on the run for over a month, looked quite disheveled!
On Rayleigh Collin’s side, watching the residents pour out of Hillenbrand Town left everyone increasingly shocked.
“Captain, these residents seem very hostile toward us—they look aggressive!”
“Indeed… and they’re carrying hoes, shovels, axes… should we fight back?”
“It looks like we’ll have to subdue them first!”
But as they drew closer, Rayleigh Collin and his team members, who had been prepared to quickly subdue these seemingly hostile human civilians, found their confidence wavering.
“Are those enchanted farming tools?”
“Seems so… and the enchantment level is not low…”
“This is really bad!”
Beyond the enchanted weapons, an even worse revelation awaited them. Leading the humans was a beautiful silver-haired girl, clearly an elf—and a powerful spellcaster at that.
Mora and the other elves immediately recognized her.
“Lady Tina Leinster Newmoon…”
“The Princess of the Moon Elves!”
“She wasn’t captured? Could she have escaped too?”
“Master Tina doesn’t have anti-magic shackles!”
“Wait, why is she so hostile toward us?”
“Could Master Tina have fallen…”
“No, from the looks of it, she’s fallen deeper than Her Excellency Isabella!”
The dwarves and humans finally understood the young girl’s identity as their elven teammates’ emotions shifted from surprise to sorrow.
The Princess and priest of the Moon Elf clan, Tina Leinster Newmoon! A powerful magician just one step away from legendary status. She alone could easily defeat their entire unruly group!
Rayleigh Collin felt his strength drain away. “What should I do…”
They had expected to find no demon creatures here, yet they encountered an Elf Princess who had long been “captured.” After the incident with Isabella, seeing Tina’s obvious hostility, no one believed she had escaped the demon creatures’ control.
The current Tina was essentially a demon creature herself.
Now, after encountering Isabella, it was the elves’ turn to experience Rayleigh Collin’s pain.
“But Master Tina must be under mental magic control. Perhaps… I can try to awaken her consciousness!” Mora suggested desperately.
As a White Elf, he had met this Moon Elf Princess several times when she visited to learn from and play with the White Elf tribe’s Grand Priestess Froer.
Mora remembered the innocent girl and believed she couldn’t have completely fallen. Maybe… there was still hope!
While Mora contemplated this, Tina suddenly fixed her gaze on Rayleigh Collin and spoke.
“There seems to be some residual magic from Master Lolth on you!”
Before anyone could react, she unleashed a massive surge of magic.
“Rustle—”
Tiny sounds emerged from beneath Rayleigh’s feet as green vines broke through the ground, instantly growing thick and strong, binding him firmly in place.
At the vine’s end, a Token was pulled from Rayleigh’s arms.
“Is this… a Token from the Interrogation Department?”
Tina examined the Token’s design, sensing Lolth’s presence on it, and her expression softened slightly. She knew, without doubt, that this group couldn’t have stolen or taken it from Master Lolth!
A turning point had indeed arrived.
However, it was completely different from what Mora had expected.
