Chapter 160: The Demon-king-castle-like City!
On the desolate and deteriorated plain, Tina continued her journey along the black gravel path.
As she progressed further, discomfort grew within her.
Her bodily functions were increasingly declining, and her magical shield and spells were rapidly depleting. The weakening of her connection with the “Spirit of Stars and Moon” rendered her spells less effective, compounded by the extremely deficient magical environment, which was causing Tina’s mental and physical strength to wane.
She sensed that she was exhibiting symptoms of illness.
“Cough, cough…”
Her cough was soft, her steps becoming increasingly strenuous, and her head felt warm and brittle.
Every joint and organ in her body ached, yet she could not pinpoint the source of the pain.
As a royal member of the Moon Elf clan, her bloodline endowed her with a naturally robust physique, and she had not experienced any “illness” since childhood. After becoming an epic priest, instances of weakness were exceedingly rare for her.
But now, for the first time, Tina experienced this strange feeling—weakness and pain.
This feeling is, of course, very bad.
This significantly hindered Tina’s progress.
Tina clearly understands the source of these challenges.
It remains the unique “magic” of this location, which appears entirely contrary to the life force.
But it doesn’t just affect the life force; it also weakens all magic equally, and this state of weakness has a very terrifying ability to spread.
The so-called Curse of Weakness is really just a “weakening” effect achieved through a spell, not something that depends on the inherent properties of magic itself.
The effect is far from aggressive.
As she approaches the city, this feeling intensifies.
It was this that Tina found fascinating about the different kinds of creatures that reside in this urban area.
What kind of residents can adapt to such an environment?
Even the undead clan would probably not be able to endure such an extremely harsh environment.
Thinking this way, Tina continued to move forward.
The bones along the road gradually lessened, replaced by more rubble, dead trees, and scattered ruins, along with strange-looking monsters that wandered about.
Large Raven with six eyes and three legs, Hyenas with bony spikes on their backs, two-tailed mice, and bipedal lizards that seemed to have half their bodies cut off, all shining with an unusual greenish glow on their fur.
From the way they staggered and their unnatural postures, Tina inferred that the deformities of these monsters did not seem to be due to their own evolution or inherent traits.
Simultaneously, by detecting the more pronounced magical energy emanating from these formidable monsters, Tina started to comprehend why they could exist normally in this environment despite not belonging to the undead clan, they also lacked any life energy, as if their bodies were infused with an unusual form of magic, resembling a parasitic entity.
These monsters were neither hunting nor resting; they wandered aimlessly, as if waiting for something.
Initially, Tina was apprehensive and wary of the monsters; however, upon realizing they exhibited no hostility and completely ignored her, she ceased her concerns.
She was almost at the edge of the city—a city without walls.
To be exact, not only did it lack walls, but the shape of the city was also quite unusual.
Even though much of it had been destroyed by an unknown force, Tina could still guess what it looked like when it was whole.
It must have been a city formed by tall towers standing closely together, with sky bridges connecting them, varying in height and arrangement, dividing the entire city into different areas.
This shape of the city always made Tina feel a strange sense of familiarity…
“It looks just like… Demon King Castle…”
Having lived in Demon King Castle for a month, she clearly understood the similarities between the two structures!
“Is it a coincidence? Or something else…”
Tina felt even more puzzled as she continued towards the city, passing by the outermost tall tower.
The dark blue tower was mostly intact, but it still had serious damage, with many large holes in its body, as if something powerful had scratched it and pierced through several times.
Her feelings of doubt and confusion made her temporarily ignore her poor physical condition, and she did not notice that after she passed the dark blue tower, pairs of glowing green eyes lit up in the holes of the tower.
There were about ten pairs of eyes hidden in the darkness, all looking down at Tina, who was moving along the road.
Then, they started to move!
They poured out from the holes in the tower, revealing frightening human-like figures, dressed in ragged clothes, with most of their flesh gone, exposing black bones at their joints. Their faces were as thin as skeletons, and green light shone from their deep-set eye sockets.
Their arms and fingers were also a bit too long, and those long fingers and toes gripped the surface of the tower, allowing them to move around on the vertical surface like geckos.
They crawled quickly towards the ground, and once they landed, they switched to walking on two legs, although their hands still almost touched the ground.
Tina had taken only two or three steps when strange, distorted creatures poured out from the towers she passed.
Even though Tina was dizzy, and her senses were seriously dull, she noticed the rustling sounds as they hit the ground.
After she turned around, she saw about thirty or forty distorted figures with emotionless green eyes staring at her as they quickly approached. Her face turned pale with fear.
“What are these?!”
Tina exclaimed, but as a capable elf priest, her first reaction after being frightened was not to run away, but to quickly form a spell.
“Moon Arrow Scatter!”
“Falling Stars!”
“Dispel Spell!”
Although the power was reduced, the speed of casting did not slow down. Tina instantly unleashed three skills.
The Dispel Spell pushed back the monstrous figures within five meters of her, the Falling Stars rained down and struck the monsters behind her, and the Moon Arrow Scatter shot out from behind Tina, accurately piercing the necks and heads of over ten monsters, causing them to fall to the ground, never to rise again!
