Chapter 9: The Cruel “Truth”
Looking at Tina pointing at her own made-up and random map, Lolth was startled.
She didn’t understand what Tina was saying.
Of course, she thought of it herself—she hadn’t hidden anything from her!
And if she didn’t cooperate, why would she need to make things up out of thin air?
Making up these things consumed a lot of her precious brain cells!
So, seeing Tina questioning her in return annoyed Lolth, even if she had a good temper.
“It’s all thanks to you passing out, and then waking up excited.”
She couldn’t help but complain to the Elf Princess.
An interrogator’s job was very tough!
However, after Lolth finished complaining, she unexpectedly discovered…
Tina had fallen silent again.
She stood there as if frozen by a snake-haired gorgon or soul-piercing demon, looking dazed.
Lolth was puzzled by what had upset the girl and felt a bit worried.
After a while, Tina murmured in a trembling voice, “No… this is not right…”
Hearing this, Lolth couldn’t help but find it amusing.
Of course, she knew it was “not right”; it was just some nonsense she had made up—how could it be “right”?
But soon, Lolth started to feel nervous.
Could this Elf Princess be too open, trying to correct herself directly?
It would have been fine if she had been willing to cooperate earlier, but now…
I’ve finished writing the information I need to hand in!
If she tells me the “correct” information, I’ll have to redo everything?
This goes against Lolth’s way of being lazy.
After thinking it through, Lolth decided it was better not to send the “correct” information if it meant having to rewrite and redraw so much.
The Demon King and the frontline generals wouldn’t even look at it—so why bother?
So, she decided to act first and interrupted Tina’s words.
“Now, have you thought it through? It’s too late—as you can see, my task is already complete. The information in your mind is now useless; there’s no need to say it.”
After hearing this, Tina, who had stood up, seemed to lose all her strength and sat back down.
“When did this get finished…”, she asked, showing a pained expression and holding her head.
“Oh, it’s just now!”
Lolth’s voice drifted softly, completely shattering Tina’s spirit.
Details of being captured flooded Tina’s mind.
There were no other elves or captives in the Demon King Castle…
She knew the layout of the entire alliance’s west defense line and even the secret of the Dragonspine Mountain mine…
Suddenly falling into a coma…
The Moon Elf Interrogation Chamber’s environment made her relax due to its familiarity…
Unconsciously eating the food…
This succubus, who had been playing with her all along…
Sister Froer’s teachings came to her mind again:
“Succubi are the most terrifying among all Abyssal Demons. They can make you fall without realizing it. You may think you can resist, but that’s just their twisted amusement.”
Tina finally realized the “truth” that she didn’t want to admit.
“I am the one who leaked the information…”
From the start, she had been manipulated by this succubus named Lolth!
Her “interrogation game” with herself was just for the succubus’s twisted amusement.
Perhaps, in the next moment, she would lose her last trace of consciousness and become like a dog on the ground, barking at her!
No, maybe such a scene had already taken place…
After all, in the hands of a succubus, even “memories” were no longer reliable.
“Since I’m no longer useful, why are you keeping me alive?”
Tina looked at Lolth, speaking in despair.
Lolth observed Tina, who had been fine just a moment ago but had suddenly broken down, losing the glint in her eyes once again. It made her feel even stranger.
Why does this elf’s mind work that way?
But upon careful thought, she understood.
After all, Tina had just experienced defeat in war and then been captured by the enemy’s main camp—a little trauma was normal.
So, she patiently comforted her once more.
“Whether to keep you or not, I didn’t plan on killing you just because you’re no longer useful… Besides, you may be useless to the Demon Army, but you’re still useful to me! As an interrogator, I can protect you and keep you here! We’ll have many collaborations in the future!”
Lolth smiled and reached out her hand toward Tina, wanting to shake hands to show goodwill.
Tina knew that Lolth wasn’t lying—after all, Lolth hoped she would help her taste different foods.
Tina was now the only living creature in the entire Demon King Castle with normal taste buds besides Lolth!
However, when Tina heard these words, her mind twisted them into more mature or even explicit meanings.
She trembled as she looked at Lolth’s delicate and boneless left hand, which was stretched out toward her.
