Chapter 45: Concerns of the Residents of Hillenbrand Town
As Lolth looked down at the ordinary and neatly arranged buildings of Hillenbrand Town, the residents of Hillenbrand Town also noticed the sudden appearance of the black spire on the high slope in the northeast corner of the town.
The first to notice were several children playing on an open space at the foot of the high slope.

A little girl in a rough cloth dress with short black hair pointing at the torture tower that suddenly appeared on the high slope, shouted.

The children became more and more frightened as they ran quickly towards the town, shouting and screaming.
Kano hesitated for a moment, but eventually followed her friends back.
Soon, the children returned to the town, and the sound of their shouting could be heard in the streets and alleys.
“The Abyssal Demon is coming! The Abyssal Demon is coming!”
“The Abyssal Demon is coming to eat people!”
Some of the adults had already noticed the appearance of the black spire, but the children’s shouts alerted everyone even more.
Hillenbrand Town was quite isolated, with very few outsiders visiting except for the tax officials during tax season.
But before fleeing, the nobles and defeated soldiers who passed through this place let it be known that the Abyssal Demon had captured the western front.
However, the people of Hillenbrand Town had never imagined that the Abyssal Demon would actually come!
