Chapter 4: Intelligence? I’ll Just Make It Up Myself!
However, bringing Tina to this Elf Interrogation Chamber was truly an act of kindness on Lolth’s part.
She never imagined that one day she would actually need to interrogate someone.
Lolth had no interest in torture, interrogation, or the use of force. She was not only a lazy person but also a morally upright lazy person. The reports she had written to the Demon King at that time were not entirely nonsense.
At least half—well, perhaps about thirty percent—of their content had some valid points.
Lolth’s plan was simple: calm the Elf Princess down, have a friendly conversation, confess that she was just doing her job, extract some unimportant information, and then relax over food and drinks together.
As for the outcome of the Demon Army…
Lolth figured it had nothing to do with her.
After all, the position of interrogator wasn’t exactly competitive. As long as she avoided making any significant mistakes, it was a secure and stress-free job.
The Demon King didn’t care about “information” anyway. The Demon Army always relied on brute force to resolve battles.
You send ten thousand soldiers, I’ll send thirty thousand demon warriors!
You deploy epic heroes, I’ll send legendary demon lords. If you use legendary heroes, I’ll respond with two legendary demon lords. If the numbers and levels matched, that would be ideal; they could have a proper showdown!
There was really no strategy involved—information gathering was just for show.
The Demon King probably assigned Lolth to question the Elf Princess because it seemed like something that needed to be done, even though it wasn’t truly necessary.
Lolth wasn’t good at interrogations, but fooling her superiors was a skill she had mastered.
She believed Tina understood the situation and was willing to cooperate.
With that said, Lolth looked at Tina.
Seeing that the Moon Elf girl seemed to have calmed down, she was looking at her softly.
Before Lolth could speak, Tina spoke first.
“I understand…”
Tina’s voice carried a sense of sadness.
“What do you understand?”
Lolth gave a puzzled look at the sentence and couldn’t help but ask.
Tina sat across from her and continued, “You designed this place to look like the Valley of the New Moon, to make me feel humiliated and accomplished at the same time… You want me to fall from grace in the very setting I know best, to completely shatter my mental defenses, don’t you?”
Lolth stared at Tina in surprise.
“No, you’ve misunderstood. I didn’t mean that,” Lolth cleared her throat. “Although the Demon King asked me to interrogate you about the Holy Alliance defenses, I’m not really interested in that information…”
“So you’re interested in my body?”
Tina interrupted Lolth, her voice tinged with resignation.
“Hold on, let me finish. You foolish little elf,” Lolth sighed and tapped the table, raising her voice to silence the timid Moon Elf. Seeing this, Tina froze in place like a statue, Lolth nodded in satisfaction and continued, “Let me repeat, I am also a woman and I am not interested in your body, and the Demon Army doesn’t need any information from you. So you don’t need to worry at all. Just cooperate with me as a formality, and you can continue living in this place that looks like your home!”
After finishing, Lolth observed Tina, who remained seated calmly. Satisfied, she asked, “Do you understand, Princess?”
“I understand…”
Tina only regained her senses when she looked at Lolth, paused for a moment, and continued to stay in despair.
“So you want to wait until I completely let my guard down one day, then you will turn me into a tool of lust for the demon race, and watch my spirit collapse in endless humiliation?”
Lolth sighed deeply. Looking at Tina, who was trembling slightly yet unwavering in her delusions, she realized any further explanation would be pointless.
“Forget it, let it be…”
She helplessly waved her hand, deciding not to argue with this elf who had severe delusions of persecution and couldn’t listen to reason.
Her gaze shifted to the map in her hand. The winding defensive and battle lines crisscrossed the parchment, yet the area representing the Holy Alliance remained almost blank.
Only a few basic markers indicated the countries or races responsible for specific regions.
The Demon King’s task had been clear: casually arrange the defenses on the western side, where the elves were stationed.
I could ignore her, but without the cooperation of this silly elf… how can this task be completed?
And this elf’s imagination is just too absurd, it’s impossible to work together with her!
As Lolth thought about this, she suddenly paused.
Wait a minute…
Imagination!
A breakthrough struck her. Imagination wasn’t exclusive to this elf lady.
After all, the Demon King likely didn’t care much about this information, and no one among the subordinates would bother verifying its accuracy. That meant Lolth could simply make something up!
She’d played plenty of strategy games in the past. This task was no different—just filling in the blanks!
Thinking about this, Lolth couldn’t help but show a joyful smile, picked up the feather pen placed on the table, and licked the tip of the pen.
This smile and the mischievous act of licking the pen coincidentally caught the eye of Tina who was secretly observing her. The poor Moon Elf once again got scared, her pupils dilated, and she almost passed out.
