Chapter 33: Isabella, Run Quickly!
With the attitude of “let’s give her a try” and the confidence of “can these two really conspire and run away together”, Lolth agreed to Tina’s proposal.
It just so happened that she needed some peace and quiet to write the budget approval report herself.
Tina got Lolth’s approval and headed straight to the Ryman Interrogation Room.
However, Tina herself wasn’t sure why she had such thoughts and impulses.
Was it because she wanted to “atone”?
Or was she hoping the other party could “rescue” her?
Or perhaps, even though her soul had plunged into the darkest place, it still held a glimpse of “good will”.
But regardless, even though Isabella wanted to kill her and saw her as a traitor, Tina had to tell her what she had in mind.
To warn her, not to make the same mistakes again…
If she could escape, that would be the best outcome!
With this belief in mind, Tina pushed open the wooden door of the Ryman Interrogation Room.
She saw Isabella sitting on the chair, quiet and thoughtful.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Isabella turned her head towards the opposite direction.
Then, a hint of surprise appeared on her stern face.
“It’s you.”
Isabella looked at Tina Leinster, the Elf Princess in a maid outfit, and spoke first.
“Yes, it’s me,” Tina walked up to her and sat down, “General Isabella… I know who you are, I’m Tina Leinster, Princess of the Moon Elves… But now, just like you, I’m just a prisoner of war.”
Isabella nodded, saying, “Tina Leinster, I know your name too.”
Her voice still carried a sense of distance and caution.
Tina noticed Isabella’s lack of trust in her, smiled helplessly, but since she was prepared for such a reaction beforehand, Tina didn’t feel too discouraged and quickly regained her spirits.
“I know, the way I am, you must think I have betrayed you…”
“Isn’t it true?”
Listening to the other party’s self-pitying tone, Isabella couldn’t help but coldly interrupt her.
“The fall of the Western Front, does it have nothing to do with you?”
Isabella was full of suspicion towards Tina.
No, not even suspicion.
She was absolutely certain that this spineless, undignified spirit had betrayed herself and the Holy Alliance!
What her father said was right, the spirits, Orcs, dwarfs, foreigners, and the mages from the Cloud Tower were all a group of unreliable softies!
Even though she had some preconceived biases before, the Elf Princess betraying information was something she heard directly from the demon race after arriving at the Demon King Castle!
They couldn’t possibly be making it up!
Even Tina, who was convinced that she had leaked the information, couldn’t help but shrink back when she heard Isabella’s cold tone.
She was already feeling guilty and Isabella’s words pierced her heart even more.
“You’re right…”
Tina meekly admitted her mistake, but then she bravely carried on.
“But, I really came to warn you!”
Because she had already caused significant damage to the Holy Alliance, she felt it was necessary to take some timely damage control measures.
With this in mind, Tina continued speaking.
“Although you may not believe it, I did retain a lot of autonomy even when my soul was being controlled by the other party,” Tina said, pointing to her head, “It might be the evil taste of that succubus…she’s someone who enjoys toying with people’s emotions, but that’s not the main point!”
“The important thing is, this succubus slowly corrupts your soul, so you may not even realize it,” Tina said seriously. “Just like I still don’t know when I leaked information to her, I can only guess maybe it happened when I fainted… I have no memory of it!”
To Isabella, these words sounded like making excuses.
However, she still continued to listen.
Tina kept on talking.
“So, be careful not to ‘fall’ without knowing it, watch out for sudden loss of consciousness – you can even pretend to surrender, because this succubus seems to like keeping the captives’ self-awareness, and once she thinks you have fallen, she will give you a lot of freedom – like I no longer have anti-magic shackles now.”
Tina paused slightly, showing Isabella her empty wrists and neck.
“But even if I have gained all my strength, my soul can never have any intention of harming her… So, I have no way to resist her or harm her.”
“After gaining her initial trust, she might make you do some gardening, or take care of animals… I’m not sure what the purpose of this is, but during that time, you are indeed very free, maybe you can try to escape.”
“That’s all I have to say… Please, do your best, General Isabella.”
After saying this, Tina thought for a moment and added a sentence.
“I believe your determination may be stronger than mine, but I must warn you, that succubus is the most cunning, evil, deceitful, and chaotic creature I have ever seen in the village. Please be careful and escape as soon as possible.”
“When I go back, I will tell that succubus that I have managed to persuade you… As for whether you intend to pretend to surrender and act, it is up to General Isabella to decide.”
With that, Tina stood up, nodded gently to her, indicating that she was ready to leave.
However, Isabella stopped her.
“Wait.”
She looked into Tina’s eyes, thought for a moment, and said, “If she really has such terrifying mental and soul spells that can freely manipulate people’s perceptions and memories, and you have already fallen under her control… how can I be sure that telling me this is not what she wants you to do?”
Isabella said this, and Tina was surprised too.
She wanted to argue, as it was her idea.
However, she was really unsure if this was also a hint from Lolth to her, if everything was part of her plan.
“I… really don’t know,” Tina forced a smile, “so, please be careful, General Isabella.”
Saying this, she turned and left the rough but cozy Ryman-style spacious house.
Isabella watched her back, also falling into a short moment of confusion.
She really couldn’t figure out what this elf was here for.
The other party seemed peculiar in every way.
Admitting “fallen” frankly, yet kindly reminding herself.
But… couldn’t think about that much anymore.
The other party’s suggestion was probably really practical.
