Chapter 180: Level 8 Arcane? What Kind of Breed Is This Succubus!
“Oh no, something’s happening!”
When Lolth sensed an ancient and powerful presence awakening beneath the water, she quickly changed the subject and pointed underwater with a gasp.
After her exclamation, the others began to explore as well, noticing that something was approaching rapidly under the water toward the magic crystal boat!
“Is it attracted by the vibrations of the Light Artifact earlier…?”
Dorothy murmured.
“No, I’m afraid it’s because we’re headed in the right direction,” Patricia shook her head and said. “It looks like we’ve encountered a ‘guard’…”
“What should we do now, Master Lolth?”
Tina looked toward Lolth and asked.
“What else can we do? Let’s deal with it!”
As Lolth said this, her magic began to glow again.
She could sense that below the water, something was approaching the magic crystal boat, and it was at the Legend Upper Level!
And it was immense.
“Don’t hold back, Great Sage,” she said, looking at Patricia beside her. “If you want to survive, show your true skills.”
“You too, succubus.”
As Patricia spoke, she crossed her hands, half-clenching them in the air.
Then, a wave of spatial magic appeared, and a huge wizard staff, slightly taller than her, materialized in her hands.
This magic wand was completely white, and at its end, there was a fist-sized blue gemstone shaped like a star. At the top of the wand, the curved part was formed by the wand’s body bending, and six star-shaped gemstones hung in the middle.
The seven green gemstones were connected by magic, and when held in Patricia’s hand, they created a perfect circle of power with her own magic.
Each gemstone on this magic wand was nearly at the level of a ninth-grade magic device.
Combined on this wand, they created an existence at the Sacred Tool level, just below the Divine Artifact!
“Magic Wand: Green Sky Star Heaven…”
Dorothy called out the name of the magic wand in Patricia’s hand.
“Your identity is quite impressive.”
Lolth said this, clearly recognizing the origin of the magic wand.
Seeing that Patricia had revealed her strongest card, Lolth felt it wasn’t right to keep her weapon hidden, so she pulled out her family heirloom weapon from her storage space.
That was the item her old mother had forced on her before she joined the Demon Army… To be honest, Lolth never really wanted to use it because of its appearance and function.
After all, it was made by the succubus clan, so expecting it to be too serious was basically impossible.
But it really was the best weapon she had in terms of both style and rank.
“Abyssal Whip!”
Lolth pulled out a black thorny whip with barbs coiled in her hand, holding the handle, which was decorated with pink hearts, and shouted seriously.
Patricia took a glance and started to criticize, “Isn’t this one of the three Sacred Tools of the Abyssal Succubus clan, ‘Whipping of Passion and Punishment’?”
“So you think you know everything, huh? You just have to say it to show off,” Lolth glared at Patricia in embarrassment and anger when she realized her lie was exposed. “Your whip is still my whip—if I say it’s Abyssal Whip, then it’s Abyssal Whip!”
Tina adjusted her sitting position and squeezed her legs together after looking at the whip.
“Whipping of Passion and Punishment…”
She repeated the name that Patricia had discovered, her face turning red again.
Only Dorothy, standing by the edge of the boat, gazed at the water and gave a warning.
“Now is not the time for jokes… That creature is getting closer! I can’t sense its thoughts!”
Shouting this, Dorothy finally drew Patricia’s, Lolth’s, and Tina’s attention away from the Sacred Tool, and they refocused on the area beneath the water.
And that fearsome giant creature was already very close!
“It’s coming!”
Tina’s expression changed, and she warned Patricia.
But at that moment, she, like Dorothy, could only act as an early warning since she had not yet regained her strength.
“I know… Let’s go!”
Patricia said this as she struck the Green Sky Star Heaven magic wand against the crystal boat. A huge wave of magic power erupted, and the entire magic crystal boat suddenly shot forward.
And in the place where the crystal boat had been, a huge monster burst out of the water!
“Boom!”
Several dark green tentacles, enormous like octopus tentacles but a hundred times thicker, emerged. At the moment they burst from the water, they carried the immense Power of the Evil God. The surface of the tentacles was covered in disgusting blisters, and they constantly released green smoke from their suckers.
After the magic crystal boat narrowly escaped this watery attack, the tentacles quickly changed direction, aiming the dark green smoke from their suckers toward Lolth and her group, spraying it with even more force, like deep green smoke arrows shooting toward the small boat.
From a long distance away, Lolth could smell the decayed, foul scent of the green smoke.
She felt a wave of nausea and waved her hand vigorously, cracking the whip in her grip.
“What a disgusting thing, go away!”
Although “Whipping of Passion and Punishment” was a whip, the succubus, being a race mostly of spellcasters, had a whip that also possessed enhancement spells!
Even as a treasured Sacred Tool of the succubus clan, its enhancement effect was no worse than some level seven or eight wands!
If it was a mental-type spell, especially those used for “Charm” or “Confusion” from the Succubus clan, and it was cast while attached to the whip, it could even have the amplification effect of a level nine wand.
Moreover, when striking enemies, it could also cause mental confusion, intimidation, and a certain chance of Charm effect. With its various clever uses outside of battle, the succubus clan saw it as a true Sacred Tool.
Of course, Lolth would not use those things.
She simply used this whip as a magic wand shaped like a rope.
“Crack!”
Whipping of Passion and Punishment sliced through the air with a sound, and a massive magical energy burst forth from the tip of the whip, forming an Arcane shockwave.
This was a defensive magic specially developed by Lolth for various divine powers, improved from “Break Magic” and “Dispel Spell!”
Considering Patricia was present, it would be best for her not to use divine spells further, so Lolth decided to stick with her self-created Arcane magic.
This Arcane structure looked very simple at first glance, and the fluctuations were not strong. It seemed like an enhanced version of a level three Dispel Spell, so it should not catch the attention of this Great Sage.
But as soon as she made her move, Patricia immediately turned her head like a dog that caught the scent of meat.
“I’ve never seen a level seven… no, an eight-level Arcane… Who did you learn your arcane magic from? Did you create this yourself?”
She asked with great surprise.
Lolth sighed, realizing that this Sage was much sharper than she had imagined.
She had indeed underestimated the Great Sage of humans and had made such a silly mistake repeatedly!
“I mean, can we finish fighting before asking questions?”
The Arcane shock dispelled the green, disgusting mist, but behind that mist appeared a huge tentacle.
Those numerous tentacles once again slammed toward the crystal boat together!
