Chapter 18: We, the Northman Knight Order, Are Unbeatable!
No matter how much Achilles distrusts the “intelligence,” under the command of Shelldor of the Demon Army, she can only follow orders.
The Red Dragon Grand Monarch and Balrog Lord, each leading about one-third of their armies, regrouped into three squads and stationed themselves at the entrance of the abandoned mine in Dragonspine Mountain, taking turns guarding it.
By the time they arrived at the rear, the battle at the front of the Anti-demon Great Wall had already begun.
The sun had completely set, leaving only the orange glow of the setting sun on the horizon. But this last bit of sunlight was completely overshadowed by the roaring fires and magical lights rising into the sky! The top of the Anti-demon Great Wall was as bright as daylight!
Balrog’s flames, the demon dragon’s breath, and the undead’s cursed aura were all being unleashed toward the guard posts of the Anti-demon Great Wall, mixed with the terrifying demons and magical beasts swooping down from the sky!
The loud, sharp howls and explosions mixed together, were carried faintly by the wind, along with the gradually thickening smell of sulfur, gunpowder, and blood.
The magic of elves, the shining cannons of dwarves, and the Holy Light that made Shelldor and Achilles frown could be faintly seen.
The war became intense right from the beginning.
This was because Shelldor planned to launch the Demon Army’s most powerful attack right from the start—it was their signature style!
Before the reinforcements arrived, they would conquer the Anti-demon Great Wall, destroy the fortress on the western front, and then defeat the arriving reinforcements in one go! They would stop just before advancing to the next defense line!
That’s exactly what Shelldor had planned!
Just like what she was doing now, was not to prevent any “unexpected events” from happening here.
But in case there were any “unexpected events” in the mine here, she would completely eliminate the problem right there.
Soon, Shelldor, who was all prepared for battle, received a communication from her deputy.
Opening the precious magic crystal ball, the face of her deputy, the green dragon Dolly, appeared on it.
“Lord Shelldor,” Dolly’s voice carried a tone of excitement, “everything is progressing smoothly according to the intelligence you provided. The enemy numbers closely match the estimates, and the legendary elite forces that advanced earlier are strategically positioned! By the end of the day, it’s anticipated that seventy percent of the Anti-demon Great Wall will be under our control. Additionally, the leader of White Moon Fortress has been successfully repelled!”
“Very good. Continue the fierce attack until all three fortresses are captured. After clearing over half of the outposts on the Anti-demon Great Wall, the Second and Seventh Legions can move to capture the Central Fortress!”
After issuing new orders based on the simplified battlefield situation, Shelldor looked towards Achilles.
Her proud expression seemed to say, “I told you the intelligence was correct!”
Achilles, with her extinguished flames, fierce upward-slanted eyes, and fiery red short hair, snorted coldly, still somewhat dissatisfied. Her pale red fingers interlocked in front of her chest as she said discontentedly, “It’s just a matter of having the right numbers. Even the lizard demons can sometimes achieve this! This is just irrelevant intelligence to the battlefield… Maybe she was deceived by the cunning elves she interrogated—maybe she’s just pretending to know!”
Achilles muttered under her breath.
“Are you still stubborn, Achilles?” Shelldor continued. “Well then—let’s wait and see!”
As soon as she finished speaking, Dolly on the other end of the line seemed to hear some news and exclaimed.
“What? Did the dwarf from the Molten Iron Fortress really produce a fake Divine Artifact?! A replica of the blazing sun cannon?”
He looked at Shelldor solemnly and said, “Lord Shelldor, I request immediate support for the Molten Iron Fortress battlefield. General Majimaji may not be able to withstand the attacks of the blazing sun cannon alone!”
“Alright, go support them now. Transfer command to the deputy officer of the Seventh Legion!”
Shelldor quickly made a decision.
Then, as if realizing something, she suddenly pulled out her map.
“Wait a minute, does it say… Divine Artifact on here?”
Shehe looked at the line of information about the Molten Iron Fortress on the map, feeling quite shocked. Even though she didn’t speak the common language fluently, by piecing together a few common words, she managed to guess their meanings.
When Achilles heard what Shelldor said, she blinked in surprise. But soon, she became stubborn again.
“Are you trying to trick me into not knowing the common language? Who knows if she mentioned the Divine Artifact!”
Achilles continued to argue stubbornly.
However, deep down, she was starting to feel unsure. Could it be true… that Interrogator Lolth is really so magical?
After staying stationed there for so long without discovering any issues, could there be some unknown key factors?
And inside the mine…
Isabella was riding on her faithful White Frost Direwolf, leading her “Ryman Northman Knight Order” through a difficult march. The march had been going on for almost a day and a night. The abandoned mine’s narrow, damp, and cold environment posed a challenge even for the elite knight order.
Not only was the Demon Army communicating with the front line, but the Holy Alliance also had Magic Communicators in contact with the front line.
The Magic Communicator connected to the commander of the Western Front Central Fortress. Isabella learned from the commander that the Demon Army had just launched a full-scale attack!
The forces of the four mixed legions were mobilized, consisting mainly of undead, Balrogs, trolls, and demon dragons, perfectly matching the Demon Army’s Third, Seventh, Ninth, and Second Legions that had just been pulled from the center line!
The Demon Army had truly unleashed a forceful attack in one fell swoop! Surely, the rear would now be vulnerable.
Judging by the time, she had less than an hour to break out of the abandoned mine.
Although the western front was at a disadvantage due to the sudden increase in the Demon Army’s Heart Legion forces, it was not something the Demon Army could take down in an hour.
At that moment, during the most intense battle, she emerged from the mine, only to face an empty camp and the unprepared Demon Army.
She would be able to trap the Western frontline troops!
In fact, Isabella wanted the situation to be as chaotic as possible. Because only if the situation was chaotic enough, the Demon Army would not be able to escape the quagmire of the battlefield and effectively block the enemy from the rear! That way, her surprise attack from the rear could wipe out the entire Demon Army!
“Hold on, Your Excellency, we’re almost there!”
“As long as there are no ambushes, the charge of the Northman Knight Order is unstoppable! It will crush all enemies!”
The White Wolf advanced as Isabella cut off the Magic Communicator.
In her field of vision, a faint glow appeared. That was the secret exit of this abandoned mine!
