Chapter 158: Journey to the Half-Plane, Save Tina
“I have finally completed it… the magic fluctuations should appear like this,” Lolth declared at the altar, as a small arcane magic fluctuation materialized in her hands, “and then incorporate the spatial properties…”
A subtle layer of spatial magic enveloped it, and the magic flow instantly stretched into nothingness, as if reaching toward another realm. Momentarily, it seemed to receive feedback, and the flow accelerated rapidly.
“It worked!”
Lolth observed the expected reaction with a satisfied smile. “The composite magic G0106 is complete… as long as the spell is precise, what follows will be straightforward.”
As she spoke, she began to intensify the magical energy for this spell. A nearly terrifying magical power surged forth from her, steadily and uniformly simulating the previous magical wave, complemented by an equivalent amount of spatial magic.
Every second was equivalent to a Sage casting a forbidden spell beyond level nine, yet Lolth persisted. Attempting to artificially create a magic tide, even a minor one, would be deemed impossible by any Sage. The challenge does not lie in creating a spell that simulates magical waves as Lolth does, but in harnessing the magical power to trigger a magic tide, which demands an extraordinary amount of magical energy.
This represents a barrier between worlds, and even Sages or Great Sages lack sufficient magical power to support such a scenario. Constructing half-planes within a world requires the combined strength of an ancient civilization powerful enough to rule an entire continent; in the present era, only gods can achieve this when creating a Divine Kingdom.
Even gods do not casually descend to the main plane, illustrating the complexity of overcoming the Dimensional Barrier. The entire strength of Abyssal Demons requires ancient civilization ruins and a Plane Magic Tide to open a permanent plane channel. But Lolth… believed she could attempt it.
The magical power continued to expand, and even after stabilization, Lolth increased her output strength. However, she also began to feel slightly overwhelmed.
“Indeed, challenging the world’s boundaries, there simply isn’t enough magical power…”
After continuously outputting for nearly ten minutes and exhausting more than half of her magical reserves, Lolth was delighted to discover that the magic exchange activity had significantly increased!
A mysterious power had intermingled with her magical spell, and its velocity was rapidly accelerating! Soon, that power grew even faster than her own input. Lolth attempted to halt her spell, but the power continued to intensify.
The result exceeded her expectations!
“It worked! The magic tide in this area has accelerated!” Lolth expressed surprise.
Since the area was centered around the altar, the Plane Magic Tide quickened, reaching the level of a normal magic tide one day after initiation. Lolth could sense that the plane channel was subtly stabilizing for opening. Although she was uncertain about the exact opening method, as long as external conditions ensured steady progression, the specifics were inconsequential to her.
“Boom!”
Without hesitation, she employed her magic, transforming the remaining magical fragments into spatial energy and violently thrusting it into the plane channel above! The substantial magical surge rendered any attempts to recognize or control the magic circle ineffective, and the half-plane channel opened directly.
Lolth stepped inside without reservation. Following a wave of spatial energy, her consciousness blurred, and she found herself in a brand new half-plane! Simultaneously, her form vanished from the main plane… The uncontrolled composite magic “G0106” destabilized under the plane’s magical impact.
Rapidly, this minor magic tide began drawing more frequent magical exchanges between planes, spreading and expanding from the area north of Hillenbrand Town, preparing to sweep across the entire plain… It had officially commenced!
The magic tide’s impact range would grow exponentially before reaching its peak; in merely two more hours, the entire Vera Plain would be engulfed. Due to Lolth’s magic, this process had been accelerated by an entire day!
Inside Hillenbrand Town, the landlady, mixing drinks in the tavern, sensed the sudden magic tide’s arrival and looked up.
“How is this possible… There should be at least one more day…”
She muttered, then gazed towards the altar, and her cup inexplicably shattered.
“Crack!”
“A magical wave generated by someone… What has this succubus done?! Has she deliberately advanced the magic tide?!”
The liquid and cup fragments froze midair before touching the ground, as did the expression on the landlady’s face.
Simultaneously, Maider, Rayleigh, and the elf Mora, playing the card game invented by Lord Lolth on the second floor of the Southern New Development Zone cafeteria, shifted their attention towards the altar.
“So the magic tide’s outbreak point is Hillenbrand Town? No wonder work was abruptly halted this afternoon!”
“I assumed it would be delayed by a day…”
“Truly Lady Lolth, she is remarkably intelligent, beyond the comprehension of ordinary individuals.”
After praising Lolth, the three resumed their card game.
“Incidentally, Mora, did you just use ‘Swift Hand’ to swap your cards?”
“What? No… But you, as a wizard, have been using Eye of Astral Plane to peek at the cards since the beginning, right?”
While they lacked the landlady’s perceptive abilities, a turtle emerged from a pool, cursing loudly.
“Damn, the abyss is truly something… Wait, that succubus is my ally now, I should be pleased!”
Beyond Hillenbrand Town, other forces also detected the unexpected magic tide’s premature onset. Within the New West Line, under Janine Irene’s protection, people prayed to the Lady of Light, who revealed a surprised expression.
“It’s a day earlier than anticipated… Has His Holiness’s prophecy actually deviated?”
She exclaimed in surprise, then contemplated and looked at Janine Irene behind her.
“Irene, the magical tide has arrived early. We must expedite our plan… We’ll begin tonight, launching a feint against the demon race. Please inform Lady Dorothy and Lady Patricia to prepare for movement.”
The Lady of Light spoke, and Janine Irene, adorned in white armor with a scorpion tail whip, slightly bowed.
“Understood, Your Holiness, I will depart immediately.”
