Chapter 151: The Tide Is Coming
Near the New Western Line of the Holy Alliance, inside the Republic of Seychelles, members of the Oracles Knight Order have been searching for the elusive Ditch Village for several days.
Along with the missionaries from all over Seychelles, they have found nothing at all.
In fact, they have even begun to doubt whether the village really exists!
Only Janine Irene still believes it wholeheartedly.
"That girl’s soul is recognized by the Holy Light as pure and sacred; how could she deceive me!"
If she weren’t waiting on the New Western Line to welcome Her Holiness, she would have gone out to search herself a long time ago.
And today, the Lady of Light, who set out from the Holy Capital Eden Palace, finally arrived in the New Western Line, guarded by a small team of elite Oracles Knights.
"Your Holiness, I am so glad you are safe… I knew I should have personally escorted you."
When she entered the newly built tent, she saw the saintess, who looked perfectly fine and even had no signs of tiredness. Janine Irene felt relieved.
"I have the Great Sage personally escorting me, so you don’t need to worry too much, Irene."
The saintess sitting in the center of the tent appeared much more calm, and her pure, flawless face still had a gentle and composed expression.
After she finished speaking, Janine Irene noticed that there were two other people inside the tent.
They were wearing the standard priest robes of The Church of Light, but upon closer look, they did not seem to be two priests.
One of them was a pale-skinned girl with light purple hair, who looked as if she was very sick, her lips lacking color.
The other one seemed like an innocent little girl, her robe sleeves rolled up, revealing delicate arms like green onions, waving and greeting her.
"Hello, Lady Irene! My name is Patricia, but you can call me Cui Cui!"
Hearing the self-introduction, Janine Irene was slightly surprised.
"Hello, ‘Morning Star’ Sage Patricia, thank you for escorting Her Holiness," she said respectfully, turning to the side, "I wonder who this is…"
"Dorothy Diana, from the Golden Peacock Kingdom."
Dorothy said humbly.
"So you are the princess of the Golden Peacock," Janine Irene nodded again, "which means everyone is here, right, Her Holiness?"
"Yes, the plan can begin," Lady of Light said softly, "we just need to wait for the right time… then everything can start."
"The right time?"
Dorothy showed a curious expression.
"The best time to open links to other planes is when the Plane Magic Tide is at its strongest… Summoners, Elemental Mages, and Shadow Dancers among Rangers have similar skills," Patricia said with a thoughtful look, her innocent face sharing deep knowledge, "different magic tides and places represent the weakening of different Dimensional Barriers. Aside from completely parallel alternate planes like the realms of various gods and the Divine Kingdom, special spaces built by ancient civilizations, or even lost Mage Towers that are half-planes, ordinary people can sometimes enter them."
"So, that place is indeed a half-plane…"
Dorothy Diana murmured.
"Of course," Lady of Light smiled and nodded, "according to our predictions and the prophecy of the Pope, the next Plane Magic Tide in Vera Plain will reach its peak in over fifty years… At that time, we will be able to open the passage there."
"Janine Irene and I will lead the attack with the Oracles Knight Order at the New West Line, using mystical techniques together with Irene. In a short time, all four Demon Legions in Vera Plain must respond… Irene and I will hold them off, while you move in and sneak into that town of Hillenbrand."
"Although there is information showing that the Demon Army also values that town, it seems impossible to stop Lady Patricia."
Lady of Light spoke calmly, and Dorothy and Patricia finally understood the whole plan.
"It really is a simple and effective way. While I believe the saintess and little Irene can hold back the demon race, opening the half-plane space passage is quite a profound skill," Patricia said, spreading her hands, "so what should Dorothy and I do once we get to that town?"
"I know the method; it was written in the notes of my ancestor about how to enter that half-plane space. However, she did it with the help of a legendary sage mage," Dorothy explained to Patricia, "I will do my best to explain it to Lady Patricia when the time comes."
"Actually, there’s no need to be so serious, because the mage who helped your ancestor is the great-grandmaster of my master… well, my grandmaster," Patricia waved her hand and said. "I am the kind who surpasses my predecessors—so you just need to tell me the general direction, what my grandmaster can do, I should be able to do too."
A confident and proud look appeared on her little face.
"It is wonderful that both of you are fully prepared, but recent events at the front lines have shown that the Abyssal Demons are not the reckless and foolish beings we thought they were; they can use cunning plans. So, please be careful when you enter the heart of the demon territory."
The Lady of Light carefully instructed.
"But do not worry, while we hold back the main army, Seychelles and Ryman’s new western front guards will also cooperate, and we can come to assist you," Janine Irene said seriously. "So, you do not need to worry about your escape route."
"Then we shall rely on the two of you from The Church of Light."
Dorothy said softly as well.
"Ah, you don’t need to worry about me; I know a bit of spatial magic from rule-type spells," Patricia waved her hand. "If the situation goes bad, and the Demon King comes with three armies to surround me, I will run away."
"Then… we will wait for the magic tide to burst!"
Inside the tent, the four of them reached a consensus.
Meanwhile, in Hillenbrand Town, Lolth, who had just finished writing a report about the actions of The Church of Light on the western front, was about to use spatial magic to send the letter to Demon King Castle when she suddenly sensed something was wrong.
"Ah… the fluctuations in space and the concentration of magic feel a bit off?"
"It feels like the tide of the sea rising, and the magic flow is all messy… it’s almost as if it’s one-tenth of the Abyss."
