Chapter 10: Collapse of the Elf Princess
Tina Leinster Newmoon—the most dazzling jewel of the Moon Elf tribe.
From the moment of her birth, her parents’ pure and noble elven lineage destined her to become the future leader of the Moon Elf tribe.
She also displayed remarkable talents of her own.
Moon Elf had a special affinity for communicating with the stars and moon, hunting with a bow, elven swordsmanship, playing the flute, and wood carving. In just a short hundred years, she had reached extraordinary heights, becoming the youngest epic priest among the elves.
This also meant she had rarely faced any setbacks in her life.
So, when Tina learned of the Abyssal Demons’ delayed invasion, she immediately decided to join the war.
But unlike participants from other races, Tina was uncertain about her “reason for fighting.”
She simply believed that “I should resist the demon race”.
With such a simple belief, she stepped onto the battlefield, leaving the protection of her parents and teacher Froer, as well as the safety of the Valley of the New Moon and the Moon Elf tribe.
It was her first encounter with the “real” world—a reality far crueler than she had ever imagined.
Before facing the demon race for the first time, Tina had never even considered the concepts of “getting hurt” or “blood.”
These ideas were even more distant to her than the legendary “gods,” for the gods had statues among the elves, while no one had ever told her what “war” truly meant.
However, in just a few short days, Tina’s world collapsed.
Not only was she injured and captured, but she was also forced to confront “problems” she had never contemplated before.
Now, inside the Demon King Castle, facing a cunning, scheming, and indifferent succubus, Tina had to consider a serious question for the first time in her life:
That question was of “death.”
If her consciousness were to disappear, it would undoubtedly mean death.
As she calmed down, she felt not the panicked fear of the battlefield, but the cold, creeping terror of life and death.
There were no screams, no breakdowns, no fainting—just an unstoppable trembling.
For the first time, Tina realized she wasn’t as invincible as she had believed.
She wanted to stay alive.
The hand extended before she belonged to Lolth—a clear sign:
“Submit or die.”
This was the choice the succubus offered her.
When Tina was first captured, she naively believed that her reputation as a Moon Elf Princess was more important than anything else.
But now, facing Lolth’s cunning gaze, all her dignity had been shattered.
She wanted to survive.
Even if she didn’t choose surrender, what awaited her was not a simple “consciousness dissipation.”
It will be endless torment day after day.
As for her bottom line, her dignity?
Anyway, she thought she’d just betrayed all of those.
That map and the information on it are the best evidence.
She told the succubus everything about the west defense line.
The Demon Army would use the information pulled from her mind to capture the western defenses and incorporate the entire Moon Rising Mountains into their territory.
Her people, her family, her friends—all would fall into the Abyssal Demons’ hands because of her.
Tina no longer wanted to think.
Perhaps losing consciousness has its own form of relief.
But fear made it impossible for her to take even that step.
For a long time, she hesitated, staring at Lolth’s clean, white left hand—a hand that didn’t seem to belong to the demon race.
Finally, she bent down and obediently kissed Lolth’s hand.
“You win, Lord Lolth.”
Tina’s voice sounded hollow as if her soul had left her.
However, she felt that her soul had already changed ownership.
Lolth, watching Tina suddenly kiss her hand, felt equally puzzled.
“What’s going on?”
Lolth’s head buzzed with noise.
She didn’t even have time to pull her hand back.
Having read many travel accounts, Lolth knew very well that Elves did not engage in hand-kissing!
And what was even more outrageous was…
Even in human hand-kissing customs, there was absolutely, absolutely no sticking out of tongues.
Feeling the warm touch on the back of her hand, Lolth finally reacted and shook it off.
She looked at Tina, who had raised her head, and their eyes met.
At that moment, Lolth was sure.
This Elf Princess is a complete weirdo!
“Oh no, thought I thought I’d finally found someone to talk to, but it seems like there might be a problem!”
The exaggerated reactions earlier didn’t seem to be this Elf Princess’s typical behavior.
It was more like a usual thing.
But Lolth couldn’t figure it out—was it just the shock of being in the Demon King Castle that made her act so bizarrely, or was this elf lady always like this in her tribe?
She just felt…
She should keep her distance!
Although Lolth had no issues with same-sex relationships, she preferred to avoid this kind of seemingly kinky behavior.
“Um, Princess, don’t act so distant…”
“Do you want me to call you master?”
Tina said stiffly.
“No no no, just call me Lolth. Anyway, I need to go report to the demon lord!”
Lolth grabbed the parchment map from the table and hurriedly escaped from the interrogation room.
