    Volume 3 + Chapter 12: Bai Yuxuan’s Fury

    At that very moment.

“You bastards!” With a voice blazing with rage, a black figure shot forward like lightning, rushing to Ouyang Qianxue’s side. With a single punch and a kick, two men were sent crashing to the ground.

“You trash think you’re worthy of laying a hand on her?”

Only then did Ouyang Qianxue clearly see the person standing in front of her, a pale-skinned, black-haired “boy”, her eyes burning with fury.

“Bai Yuxuan? You, how did you…?”

But Bai Yuxuan said nothing. She merely glanced back at the blood seeping from Qianxue’s wound, then slowly turned toward the men lying on the ground, her expression dark and chilling.

    “Who did this?”

Under that murderous gaze, the men felt as though the surrounding air had dropped several degrees. One of them, the one who had struck Qianxue with the baton, scrambled up and fled toward the alley’s exit.

“Unforgivable… you scum are utterly unforgivable!” Consumed by fury, Bai Yuxuan lunged forward in a flash, tackled the man to the ground, straddled him, and began raining down punch after punch on his face without hesitation.

The heavy, flesh-striking blows echoed throughout the alley.

“S–stop! Just leave them to the police!” Only after about ten minutes did Bai Yuxuan gradually regain her senses. Amid the haze of anger, she finally heard Ouyang Qianxue calling out. Looking down, she saw the man beneath her had already been beaten into a bloody, unrecognizable state. She lifted her bloodstained fists and walked over to Xia Bingdie.

At this point, Xia Bingdie was utterly stunned. She could only stand there blankly, watching Bai Yuxuan approach.

“Call the police, then leave this place without looking back. Understood?” Bai Yuxuan said softly.

    Xia Bingdie nodded silently.

    “Then get moving!”

Startled by the sudden shout, Xia Bingdie snapped out of it and ran out of the alley.

“Bai Yuxuan… are you alright?” Seeing the violent aura still clinging to him, Ouyang Qianxue took a cautious step back.

“That’s what I should be asking you!”

“How far do you intend to make me worry before you’re satisfied?” As she spoke, Bai Yuxuan stepped forward and pinched his cheeks. She had originally wanted to pull him into a tight embrace, but remembering his injuries, she forcibly restrained herself and settled for this instead.

“If I hadn’t happened to be passing nearby on my way back to the family estate, and happened to receive Xia Bingdie’s call for help, what would you have done?”

“Stop pinching, it hurts! I know I was wrong!” Ouyang Qianxue grabbed her hand.

“Hmph!” Only after hearing her admit fault did Bai Yuxuan release him.

“Ugh… why are you so rough? You nearly stretched my face out of shape,” he muttered, rubbing his reddened cheeks.

“And that’s your lesson. You probably reopened your wound trying to protect Xia Bingdie, didn’t you?”

“W–well…” Ouyang Qianxue averted his gaze, clearly guilty.

“Forget it. Scolding you is pointless, you’re the type who throws yourself away for others. How bad is the injury? Let me see.” Bai Yuxuan sighed, then bent slightly and reached to undo his collar.

“Hey! What are you doing? Stop that!” Ouyang Qianxue quickly grabbed his hand. Even though he was actually a boy, being seen like this while dressed as a girl still felt strange.

“Move your hand. I’m not interested in you like that, I just want to check your wound.”

Reluctantly, she let go, watching as Bai Yuxuan loosened her collar and pulled down her shirt.

Her pale, delicate skin came into view. When she reached the bandaged area, she carefully began unwrapping it.

“…Good. The wound hasn’t split too badly.” Bai Yuxuan let out a breath of relief.

“I told you I’m fine.” Ouyang Qianxue quickly pulled his clothes back on.

“You’re in such a hurry, afraid I’ll see something? It’s not like there’s much to see anyway…” Now that she knew he was alright, Bai Yuxuan’s tone softened.

“That’s none of your business! I don’t need anything ‘to see’!” Ouyang Qianxue snapped irritably.

“Yes, yes, you don’t need it. After all, you climbed to Sakura Academy’s ‘school beauty’ title with that flat chest of yours.”

“Can we not bring that up? I was just as confused when they suddenly gave me that title!”

“Alright, enough joking. The important thing now is your injury, you need to go back to the hospital immediately.”

“I’ll go by myself. Thanks for saving me today.” He turned to head toward the hospital.

“Don’t be ridiculous!” Bai Yuxuan stepped in front of him.

“In your current condition, how could I possibly let you walk there alone?”

“The hospital is right next door.”

“But your wound has reopened! Walking there like this could make it worse.”

“Then if you’re that worried, just help me walk?”

“But even that would strain your wound…”

    “Then what do we do?”

“Carrying you on my back would also stretch the injury…” Bai Yuxuan fell into thought.

“…Looks like this is the only option.” As she spoke, she slipped one arm around his waist and the other beneath his knees.

“Hey! What are you doing?!” Ouyang Qianxue cried out.

“A princess carry. It’s the safest way to get you to the hospital without aggravating your wound.” With that, Bai Yuxuan lifted him into her arms.

“I’m begging you, can you put me down?!” The thought of being carried like this in public by a boy made Ouyang Qianxue want to disappear from sheer embarrassment.

“It’s not like it’s your first time. If you’re shy, just bury your face in my chest.” Ignoring his protests, Bai Yuxuan carried him out of the alley.

    “Look, it’s a princess carry!”

“That guy’s not only handsome, he’s got serious boyfriend vibes!” Passersby began whispering and even whistling.

Hearing the chatter, Ouyang Qianxue felt like dying from embarrassment. In the end, he buried his face against Bai Yuxuan’s chest, just as she had suggested, to escape reality.

Seeing him like this in her arms, Bai Yuxuan allowed herself a faint smile. Since the hospital was close by, they arrived quickly.

“Alright. From now on, you must rest properly,” the doctor said after treating his wound.

    “Thank you, doctor. I understand.”

“Mm.” The doctor left the room. Almost immediately afterward, Bai Yuxuan stepped in.

“How is it? What did the doctor say?”

“It’s nothing serious, but I need to stay overnight for observation. I’ve already texted Wang Qian to let her know not to worry, I won’t be going back tonight.”

“I see…” Bai Yuxuan fell silent for a moment in thought.

“Then I won’t be going back tonight either.”
