    Volume 3 + Chapter 11: A New Crisis

“Yawn~” Early in the morning, Ouyang Qianxue let out a long yawn as he stepped out of the dormitory.

“Good morning, Qianxue-senpai!” The moment he opened the door, he saw Xia Bingdie already standing respectfully outside, bowing as she greeted him.

“Whoa!” The sudden appearance of Xia Bingdie startled Ouyang Qianxue so much that he instantly felt fully awake.

“Why are you here so early?” He rubbed his forehead, looking at the girl by the door.

“I figured mornings can be rushed for you, so I prepared breakfast in advance and thought I’d accompany you to class.” With that, Xia Bingdie handed him a lunchbox.

“Thanks, but I’m going to the hospital this morning, not school. You can head off first,” Ouyang Qianxue said.

“The hospital?” Xia Bingdie asked, puzzled.

“I got injured a while ago, so I need to go back periodically to have the dressing changed. You don’t need to come with me.” With that, Ouyang Qianxue turned to leave, but Xia Bingdie stepped in front of him.

“No, if you’re injured, then it’s even more necessary for me to stay by your side and take care of you. That’s a maid’s duty.”

In the end, unable to argue her down, Ouyang Qianxue reluctantly allowed Xia Bingdie to accompany her to the hospital.

“You can just wait here,” he said upon arriving at the entrance.

“But since you’re injured, wouldn’t it be better if I stayed with you?” Xia Bingdie tilted her head.

“No need. If I walk into the hospital with a maid, people will stare at me strangely. Just wait here.”

“Understood.” Xia Bingdie nodded and remained at the entrance.

“Phew…” Ouyang Qianxue let out a breath as he entered the hospital. He couldn’t let Xia Bingdie see him during the dressing change, otherwise, his true identity as a boy might be exposed.

    Half an hour later.

“Your wound is healing well, but you must avoid strenuous activity. Otherwise, it could reopen at any time.”

“I understand. Thank you, doctor!” After receiving the instructions, Ouyang Qianxue headed out.

“It’s been quite a while… I feel a bit bad for making her wait so long.” He glanced at his watch.

    Meanwhile, outside the hospital.

Xia Bingdie felt extremely embarrassed. Dressed in a maid outfit, she drew strange looks from every passerby.

“Ugh… this is basically public humiliation. Did Ouyang Qianxue make me wait here just for this? She looks gentle on the surface, but is she actually that scheming inside?”

At that moment, a small kitten poked its head out from an alley beside the hospital.

“So cute!” Seeing the fluffy little creature, Xia Bingdie felt her heart melt.

“Ouyang-senpai has been inside for quite a while. It should be fine if I go play with the kitten for a bit, right?” With that, she chased after it into the alley.

“How is it? Feeling good?” She picked up the kitten and gently stroked its fur.

“Hey now, whose little maid might you be?” A mocking voice suddenly sounded nearby. Several rough-looking, streetwise men surrounded her. They were loiterers who hung around the hospital, making a living by stirring up trouble.

“What I wear is my business. Why should you care?” Though she appeared calm, panic had already set in. Quietly, she reached behind her and dialed a number.

“Who are you calling?” One of the men swiftly snatched her phone.

“Yuxuan-senpai? Calling him so affectionately, your boyfriend, huh? Hahaha!” The man hung up the call.

“But really, this ‘Yuxuan-senpai’ of yours doesn’t seem very responsible, letting his girlfriend wander around dressed like that.”

    “He’s not! Yuxuan-senpai isn’t my…” Xia Bingdie’s voice grew softer and softer.

“Not? Then you must just have a hobby of dressing like this and wandering around? Since you’re into that sort of thing, why not come play with us? I’ll be your master.” One of the men reached out toward her.

“Help!” Terrified, Xia Bingdie shut her eyes and screamed.

“Bang!” A powerful gust of wind swept past her. She slowly opened her eyes to see the man who had reached for her sent flying, his face slammed hard into the wall.

A few strands of golden hair brushed past her face. Looking up, she saw the blonde girl in front of her still holding the finishing pose of a spinning kick.

“Bullying girls isn’t something gentlemen should do,” Ouyang Qianxue said lightly, placing a finger against his lips.

“O–Ouyang Qianxue!” Xia Bingdie cried out in shock.

“Heh, looks like we’re lucky today, buy one, get one free. And that one up front is quite the beauty…”

“Cut the crap, first come, first served!” The men lunged at Ouyang Qianxue.

“Honestly, why does this kind of thing always happen to me…? Oh well, I’ll just treat it as post-hospital rehabilitation.”

With a slight shift of his body, he dodged a grab from behind, then drove his elbow backward into the attacker’s face, knocking him down.

Without hesitation, he spun and delivered a side kick, sending another man flying several meters away.

“So… so strong!” Xia Bingdie exclaimed in awe.

“Damn, this girl knows how to fight!” Seeing two of their companions taken down instantly, the remaining men grew wary.

“Grab your weapons!” They pulled out knives, some even producing batons.

“If you won’t behave, I’ll show you some real pain!” One man lunged forward with a knife. Ouyang Qianxue sidestepped, letting the blade miss, then tripped him lightly, sending him crashing to the ground.

“Watch out!” Xia Bingdie shouted. One man had circled behind Ouyang Qianxue and swung a baton at her.

“Ugh!” With no time to react, Ouyang Qianxue took the blow on her back. The impact caused the wound on his chest to split open again, and blood quickly soaked through his white shirt.

“Look! She’s injured!” the men shouted upon seeing the blood.

“Hmph, looks like your luck’s run out. Get her!” Two of them charged at her.

“This is bad…” With his wound reopened, even the slightest movement sent searing pain through his body. Leaning against the wall, he could only watch as they rushed toward him.
