Chapter 767
by fanqienovelChapter 767: South Mountain Realm
"Let Elder Tianji rest for a bit," Xu Fan said, unsure of what else to say.
"By the way, grandmaster, the Ten Thousand Treasures Realm has gathered another batch of treasures imbued with the wide road of time. There’s another batch on the way, and I’ll have someone deliver it to the Hidden Spirit Sect soon," Ming Kong mentioned.
Xu Fan quickly waved his hand, signaling that he didn’t want to accept something without merit.
"Grandmaster, just take it. The Second Clone managed to cut the repair time of the Ten Thousand Star Ship down to five years. Compared to that, these treasures are nothing," Ming Kong insisted.
Hearing this, Xu Fan nodded. If it’s offered, why not take it?
Such things were always useful to him.
While they were chatting, Ming Kong suddenly stopped.
"Apologies, grandmaster, my main body has encountered a powerful foe, and I must dissolve this clone," Ming Kong explained.
"Do you need my assistance?" Xu Fan asked, concerned.
"No need to trouble the grandmaster," Ming Kong replied as his body dissolved into a puff of smoke and vanished.
"Keep up the good work, and we’ll explore beyond the cultivation world someday," Xu Fan said before teleporting back to Hidden Spirit Island.
As soon as he arrived, he saw Xing engaged in a fierce battle with a giant beast on the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.
The beast, resembling a massive gorilla, stood ten zhang tall.
Despite its imposing appearance, it was being relentlessly beaten back by Xing, its cries of pain echoing across the lake.
Xu Fan appeared beside Wang Yulun.
"Did you fish this giant beast out?" Xu Fan asked.
"I was going to have Xing send it back, but she said she needed a mount, and this beast seemed perfect," Wang Yulun explained.
"A giant beast from the invincible realm as a mount? Not bad," Xu Fan said, smiling at the creature.
"Boom!!"
The gorilla-like beast was sent flying several thousand meters by Xing’s small but powerful fists.
Just as Xing was about to leap in for the final blow, a sudden force from the depths of the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake pulled the beast under.
"What just happened?" Wang Yulun asked, puzzled.
"The Heavenly Way’s Will called it back," Xu Fan said, pointing to where the fishing hook had sunk into the lake.
"The two realms are still connected, so it’s not surprising it was rescued," Xu Fan explained.
"Well, looks like Xing lost her mount," Wang Yulun said, a bit disappointed.
Xing walked over to them, clearly unhappy.
Xu Fan chuckled and pulled out a pile of snacks to cheer her up.
"If you’re still looking for a mount, you might want to check out the demon race. Those golden tigers seem like a good fit," Xu Fan suggested with a grin.
"Those tigers are too weak. The ones strong enough to be mounts have already been eaten by Uncle Xu," Xing replied, shaking her head.
"Alright."
At that moment, in another middle thousand world, the giant beast gorilla, still shaken, sat back on its throne. Cold sweat was dripping from its forehead.
"Why is there such a terrifying race?" the gorilla muttered.
On the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake, Xu Fan looked at Wang Yulun with a serious expression.
"You’ve got quite a bit of causal power tangled around you," Xu Fan noted.
"Is it because of all the fishing?" Wang Yulun asked.
Xu Fan nodded.
"Should I cut back on fishing then?"
"You need to fish to cultivate. Fish when you need to; having more karmic ties isn’t necessarily a bad thing," Xu Fan said with a smile.
Wang Yulun suddenly remembered something and pulled out a stone compass, handing it to Xu Fan.
"I fished this out a while back. Thought it might be useful for you," Wang Yulun said.
Xu Fan took the compass, examining the celestial script and formation lines etched into it. He gently infused a bit of spiritual energy into it, but there was no reaction.
"This seems to be a teleportation formation, and a high-level one at that," Xu Fan observed.
"I’ll take this back to study. If it’s useful, I’ll return it to you."
Could this be a return on my good brother’s investment? That was Xu Fan’s first thought.
"Big Brother Xu, no need to stand on ceremony with me; just take it," Wang Yulun said, waving his hand.
Back in the Source Realm, Xu Fan watched as the compass voraciously absorbed celestial energy, his expression darkening.
"So, it’s a Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation, far more advanced than the Golden Winged Roc’s. It’s quite valuable for reference," Xu Fan said, observing the formation that had now fully materialized.
As if hitting a critical point, the entire teleportation formation lit up with spiritual light.
A map of the void appeared above the formation, dotted with numerous points of light.
"Each point of light likely represents a teleportation destination," Xu Fan mused.
"Should I try it out and see where it leads?" Xu Fan felt a surge of curiosity.
A clone appeared beside Xu Fan.
"Go check out the other side and see if it’s safe," Xu Fan instructed.
The clone nodded and stepped into the teleportation formation.
Xu Fan casually activated a dim point of light on the star map above the formation.
The teleportation formation activated, and the clone disappeared within it.
After the teleportation, Xu Fan sensed it slightly.
"It really is a Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation," Xu Fan said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
"If it’s safe over there, we might as well explore it."
Three days later, the teleportation formation lit up again, and the clone returned, carrying Xu Fan’s hopes.
As the clone vanished, a memory flowed into Xu Fan’s mind.
"South Mountain Realm, North Sea Realm, and Spirit Element Realm—this setup is much larger than the human and demon realms," Xu Fan said.
The memory brought back by the clone revealed that the South Mountain Realm was predominantly led by the human race.
Not far from the South Mountain Realm were two other middle thousand worlds, forming a triangular layout.
The North Sea Realm was dominated by the Sea Tribe, while the Spirit Element Realm was led by the Star Luo race.
These three middle thousand worlds had been in conflict for hundreds of thousands of years, and now the human race was the strongest there.
"Interesting, truly interesting," Xu Fan said, then called for Xu Yuexian.
"Master, are you taking me out?" Xu Yuexian exclaimed as soon as she saw the Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation.
"This is a Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation that leads to other middle thousand worlds. You’ve seemed a bit bored in the sect lately, so I thought I’d take you out for a change of scenery," Xu Fan replied with a smile.
"Master is so wonderful~"
Xu Fan made thorough preparations and also created a clone for Xu Yuexian, allowing her to leave her main body in the cultivation world to prevent any unexpected situations.
With everything ready, the two stepped into the teleportation formation.
In the South Mountain Realm, on the Central Continent, as Xu Fan and Xu Yuexian appeared, they were greeted by a cultivator stationed by the teleportation formation.
"Are you two friends from the Feiyu Realm?" the cultivator asked.
Xu Fan nodded; the same questions had been asked when his clone arrived.
"Welcome to the South Mountain Realm! Please accept these," the cultivator said, handing them two communication artifacts.
"May I ask you both a question?"
"Was the demon race of the Feiyu Realm destroyed by the human race?" the cultivator asked eagerly.
"The Feiyu Realm is now predominantly human," Xu Fan replied.
"Congratulations to the friends from that realm for successfully overthrowing the demon race. Please enjoy your time in the South Mountain Realm, and someone will contact you soon to discuss matters regarding inter-realm trade and alliances," the cultivator said politely.
