Chapter 1137
by fanqienovelChapter 1137: The Grand Formation of the Thirty-Six Spirit Bodies of Great Fortune
Xu Fan gazed at the woman in battle armor in the sky, her appearance unchanged from the first time he had seen her.
Her eyes, indifferent to all life, seemed as if nothing in the world could touch her.
"Weiyun, come back with me," the woman in battle armor commanded, addressing Zhang Weiyun directly and ignoring Xu Fan.
Zhang Weiyun turned her gaze to Xu Fan.
Instantly, Xu Fan entered the Great Luo state, and a multitude of scriptures materialized around him, shielding Hidden Spirit Island.
"This time, Weiyun stays with me," Xu Fan declared, looking up at the woman in battle armor.
"Don’t overestimate yourself; you can’t keep her," the woman responded coolly.
"No, you’ll let her stay," Xu Fan said with a confident smile.
He then raised his hand, summoning an immense divine formation with thirty-six nodes.
"My mastery in the formations discipline has reached the pinnacle of the Three Thousand Realms. I understand why you seek the Spirit Bodies of Great Fortune."
"This is the Grand Formation of the Thirty-Six Spirit Bodies of Great Fortune; it surpasses your method by twofold."
"Let my wife stay, and the grand formation is yours. Otherwise, our conflict will never end."
At that moment, Xu Fan’s power surged once more, reaching the peak of the Great Luo.
He gestured, and a vast River of Time appeared, upon which eyes resembling Xu Fan’s own gazed down.
Those eyes locked onto the woman in battle armor, exuding a subtle threat.
The woman in battle armor remained silent, her gaze fixed on Xu Fan and Zhang Weiyun.
"Hand over the grand formation, and from now on, Weiyun may come and go from Wanquing Island as she pleases, remaining my disciple."
Hidden Spirit Island returned to its original space, and Xu Fan presented the Grand Formation of the Thirty-Six Spirit Bodies of Great Fortune to the woman in battle armor.
She disappeared, and all was settled.
Zhang Weiyun looked at her husband as if in a dream, disbelief etched on her face.
"You just sent my master away like that?" Zhang Weiyun asked, incredulous.
"What else could I do? Since I can’t defeat your master, I had to find another way," Xu Fan replied, pulling out his little notebook.
He glanced at the woman in battle armor on the cover, pondered for a moment, and decided to leave her image there.
The grudge remained; he would deal with it later.
Zhang Weiyun threw her arms around Xu Fan, burying her face in his chest.
"I’ve been so worried, thinking about what would happen if my master came and you two fought," she confessed.
"Now everything’s fine; there’s no need to worry anymore," Zhang Weiyun said, lifting her head to look at Xu Fan.
"I told you, no one can take you away from me," Xu Fan said, gently stroking Zhang Weiyun’s hair.
"I believe in you, husband," Zhang Weiyun nodded.
That night, as Zhang Weiyun practiced her cultivation, Xu Fan sat alone in the courtyard, a look of concern on his face.
Once again, Xu Fan found himself penniless, having exhausted his supply of Xuanhuang aura crystals.
A sphere of light, densely packed with runes, materialized in Xu Fan’s hand.
"I went through so much trouble to unlock the outer layer of runes in this system, and all I get is temporary access with a time limit. Seriously, what a joke," Xu Fan muttered, frustration evident in his voice. If he could, he’d love to take the system head-on.
He decided to use the same approach his old fifth brother would have taken to deal with the system.
"On second thought, having access to the Great Luo for fifteen minutes every month isn’t the worst deal."
"It’s a bit weaker than the Great Luo unlocked with crystals of Xuanhuang aura, but it should still be enough to handle an Ancestral Dragon," Xu Fan mused, gazing at the sky.
"Looks like I’ll need to gather more crystals of Xuanhuang aura to fully unlock the runes surrounding the system," he added.
In the underground space, Xu Fan first checked on the progress of Number One and Number Two as they worked together to refine the Primal Spiritual Treasure.
Next, he assigned Number Three the task of refining a Postnatal Spiritual Treasure Star Ship, specifically designed for speed.
"Master, the proof of the secret treasure from the Great Immortal Emperor has been retrieved from the major trading guilds," Grape’s voice chimed in.
"Let’s take a look," Xu Fan replied.
Inside the treasury, Xu Fan’s eyes landed on the Primal Spiritual Treasure embryos and the assortment of Primal Spiritual Runes. The sight made him feel like the Hidden Spirit Sect’s resources were growing richer by the day.
"With the two remaining ones, we now have a total of eleven Primal Spiritual Treasure embryos in the Hidden Spirit Sect," Xu Fan thought aloud before turning to Grape. "What’s the usual price for a Primal Spiritual Treasure?"
"There’s no fixed price in the market. According to the database, someone once presented a Primal Spiritual Treasure to a major force in the celestial dynasty and was rewarded with three thousand crystals of Xuanhuang aura," Grape explained.
"Three thousand crystals of Xuanhuang aura? If we were to sell one, we could definitely get more than that," Xu Fan pondered.
He then raised the status of Number One and Number Two by two levels, granting them more free time and a larger share of Immortal Jade.
After leaving the underground space, Xu Fan made his way to the edge of Hidden Spirit Island, where he found the Four Scorpions—a name he had recently given them.
"Greetings, Grand Elder!" the Four Scorpions bowed respectfully.
"How’s it going? Can you set up the formation I gave you across the entire Hidden Spirit Island?" Xu Fan asked.
The formation he had assigned to the leader of the Scorpions was meant to elevate Hidden Spirit Island to the level of a Postnatal Spiritual Treasure.
Since Number One and Number Two were occupied, Xu Fan had entrusted the task of inscribing the formation to the Scorpion leader.
"Grand Elder, the formation you gave me is incredibly complex. So far, I’ve only grasped the basics. I’ll need more time to fully understand how to inscribe the entire grand formation," the leader admitted, sounding a bit embarrassed.
"No rush. Take your time to figure it out here," Xu Fan said with a nod.
The overall upgrade of the Hidden Spirit Sect was scheduled to take place after the Ancestral Dragon event.
Meanwhile, in the Half-Demon Immortal Realm, a Golden Immortal woman was speeding through space, heading toward human territory.
Every now and then, a look of panic flashed across her face.
"If only I hadn’t left Weiyun. Now, with this great catastrophe looming, what am I supposed to do?" she muttered anxiously.
She had originally planned to explore other Immortal Realms, with the Half-Demon Immortal Realm serving as a mere stopover.
But she never expected the teleportation formation to malfunction while transporting her from another Immortal Realm to the Half-Demon Immortal Realm.
Instead, it had dumped her into an unfamiliar demon territory.
As soon as she arrived, the woman was reminded of the nightmare of the great catastrophe that had haunted her in the lower realms. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this place might be where her tribulation awaited.
Using the stars as her guide, she located the direction of human territory, concealing her energy as she flew toward it as fast as she could.
Despite her efforts, she was spotted by three Golden Immortal demons.
The moment they saw her, the three demons charged like rabid dogs after prey.
As the fleeing Golden Immortal woman watched the demons close in, her expression grew increasingly desperate.
