Chapter 765
by fanqienovelChapter 765: The Most Comfortable Protagonist
A new day brings a fresh start.
Xu Fan, along with his good buddies, hopped onto a small moving island formed by a giant turtle.
He was ready to spend another day in leisure.
He had thought it would be a peaceful day.
But that peace was broken by a sudden apparition in the sky.
A humanoid figure of the Golden Winged Roc appeared above.
"Well, well, what brings you here?" Xu Fan chuckled as he looked up at the figure.
Being the strongest in this realm, even the mightiest avatar from the upper realms could only match his strength at best.
"Xu Fan, aside from that Star Spirit brat, you’re the human I’m most concerned about."
"Keep up your cultivation; I’ll be waiting for you in the upper realm," the Golden Winged Roc said, his eyes gleaming with a cold light.
"Did you go through all this trouble just to say that?" Xu Fan’s look turned slightly mocking.
Talking about hatred too much just makes it lose its edge.
"Not just that. I came to warn you to be careful when you ascend."
"Our great beings have already noticed you. Your ascension might land you in our little Immortal Realm."
"And once you ascend, my avatar will return to the cultivation world. Whatever you do to the beast race, I’ll do the same to your human race," the Golden Winged Roc’s figure said before vanishing.
"Interesting."
Xu Fan smirked, thinking it was like a kid threatening another to stay after school.
"Big Brother Xu, that sounds pretty serious," Wang Yulun said, his brow furrowed.
"It’s no big deal. Someone as powerful as us doesn’t need to ascend the usual way," Xu Fan laughed.
He had always planned to sneak the entire Hidden Spirit Island into the upper realm.
According to the Elder Council, the upper realm linked to the cultivation world doesn’t reject outsiders.
Pay the right price, and you’re in.
Xu Fan modestly figured that with his human race merit and fortune, he’d at least get VIP treatment up there.
"Big Brother Xu, Star will keep an eye on the sect. If the Golden Winged Roc clan dares to show up…"
"Then I’ll ask Big Brother Xu to whip up some braised chicken wings," Star chimed in, appearing behind them.
"Finished cultivating?" Xu Fan asked, looking at Star, who still appeared as a little girl, with a touch of sympathy.
He had initially promised her two shares of celestial energy but, feeling a bit stingy, ended up letting her absorb 40% of the celestial energy from the Source Realm.
"All done cultivating. Thanks for the celestial energy, Big Brother Xu," Star said with a grin.
"Glad to hear it. So, do you know which race you belong to now?" Xu Fan asked, curious.
Star just shook her head.
"My inheritance memories haven’t told me yet."
"Alright," Xu Fan said, feeling a bit disappointed.
Just then, Wang Yulun suddenly started glowing and then became a lifeless body.
Though his blood and energy were still circulating, his soul was gone.
Xu Fan frowned, glancing at his good friend’s body and then at the fishing line leading to another dimension.
"Did the cheat just level up?" Xu Fan muttered to himself.
Star began to grow anxious, and Xu Fan said, "Uncle Xu, what happened to my godfather?"
"Where’s his soul?!"
His voice was tinged with panic.
"Don’t worry. Yulun’s soul must have followed the fishing line to another world,"
"Let’s wait a bit. If nothing happens, we’ll figure something out," Xu Fan reassured.
Though he wasn’t sure what had happened to his friend,
he could clearly sense the fortune surrounding him.
No danger, just great blessings ahead.
That was the reading for his good brother today.
Meanwhile, in an unknown world,
Wang Yulun found himself surrounded by a group of stunning women, feeling utterly confused.
Wasn’t I just fishing?
"My dear husband, what should we do? The Haoran Sect only gave us three days. If we don’t hand over that demonic treasure, our whole family will die," a beautiful woman clung to Wang Yulun, her tears falling like pear blossoms.
Anyone would feel a surge of protectiveness seeing her like that.
"My husband, make a decision. If we flee, I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth. If we fight, I’ll die without regret," a holy and aloof woman said through gritted teeth.
"I’ve chosen you, and I’ll die with you," another woman, who seemed less prominent, added.
Wang Yulun looked around; there were at least 20 women surrounding him.
"Why don’t we just hand over that demonic treasure?" Wang Yulun suggested cautiously.
But with that one sentence, all the women turned to stare at him.
"Who are you? You’re not our husband!" the holy and aloof woman exclaimed.
"I don’t know how I ended up in your husband’s body. Do you believe me?" Wang Yulun said carefully.
He could tell that the original owner of this body had only reached the Golden Core Stage,
while the women around him were at least at the Void Refinement stage.
The women closest to him exchanged glances, then suddenly moved in unison to seal him.
Wang Yulun’s body shuddered, and his soul instantly returned.
"What happened?" Xu Fan asked, concerned. His good brother couldn’t afford trouble at such a crucial time.
After reaching the Immortal Realm, he still needed to "help" his good brother properly.
"I felt my soul enter another person’s body through the fishing line…"
Wang Yulun recounted his recent experience.
"How long were you in that world?" Xu Fan asked thoughtfully.
"About fifteen minutes," Wang Yulun replied after a moment.
"The flow of time is different there. It’s not part of our cultivation world."
"How did you get back?" Xu Fan pressed.
"They realized I wasn’t their husband and sealed me together."
"Them? Husband? Your destiny follows you no matter where you go," Xu Fan chuckled.
"You’ve got great fortune within you. Make sure to use it well," Xu Fan said, looking at his good brother.
Compared to his own struggles, Xu Fan sometimes wondered if his good brother was the strongest person with a destined fate in the cultivation world.
From the moment he joined the sect, he was destined to become the strongest, binding himself to it with his unique physique.
He married the most beautiful woman in the sect, and his romantic luck never ran out—though often against his will.
As his personal cheat, Xu Fan provided him with the most attentive support.
All the treasures, pills, spiritual boats, and puppets were gifts from Xu Fan, and even their two sons had the best mentors from birth.
Now he had this cheat that could fish across realms, along with a goddaughter whose fighting strength was a mystery.
Everything that seemed out of reach for others came effortlessly to his good brother.
Compared to other potential protagonists with destined fates, at this stage, his good brother was undoubtedly the biggest winner.
