Chapter 479: Leading the Way
After drinking with five other people in the evening, eating a lot of meat, Jesse went upstairs to his room, still thinking about that strange priest.
Ideally, a strong priest skilled in using weapons and able to wear armor should be able to join The Silver Hand Knights and become a true Paladin.
He called himself a priest, claiming to come from Holy Light Monastery, which means he did not join Silver Hand.
Maybe it’s because he hangs out with warlocks every day, doing some business related to demons, that he can’t pass the scrutiny of Silver Hand.
Far away, Erlan, Surena, and the female dwarf Wallis were laughing and hugging as they walked to the end of the hallway, with Gacresse even showing up and following them openly.
After a night of rest, that guy’s injuries seemed to have healed quite a bit, and he looked lively again.
This probably has to do with Surena. Last night, while resting in Eastvale, they seemed to have another round of messing around in the tent, probably "replenishing magic" at that time.
Entering his room, Molofeel emerged from the shadows and sat on the bed.
Curiously, Jesse asked, "Why isn’t Gacresse angry that Surena is with other men?"
"Demon of Pleasure… that’s why." Molofeel asked with a displeased look, "Does the master also want a servant like that?"
"Why would I want such a monster," Jesse said.
Molofeel giggled and said, "I don’t mind you having fun, master. I just don’t want you to be deceived by the other Sayaad. That Gacresse clearly has eyes on your shadow power, trying to drain strength from you. I will never allow that."
"But…" she curiously leaned in and asked, "Are you not attending their gathering because you’re afraid I’ll be upset?"
Jesse replied, "I can’t socialize with men. I’m not making up excuses to fool Surena Caledon. And most importantly, like you, I can’t trust other succubus."
"Hmm… trust," Molofeel said, "Does this mean I finally earned the master’s trust? Such a challenging journey."
"Sort of," Jesse lay on the bed and said, "I’m tired today, traveled all day, better sleep early, Molofeel. I also had quite a bit to drink, feeling a bit dizzy."
"No," Molofeel said, "I can almost hear their movements… I don’t want to just listen to those noises all night without doing anything, master!"
"So, do you want to join them?" Jesse asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Absolutely not," the succubus chuckled, leaning against Jesse, "I belong to the master alone…"
"That sounds nice," Jesse said. "We probably won’t reach The Black Morass tomorrow, based on my previous estimate of that place…"
The succubus pulled Jesse’s belt and said, "So tomorrow, Master shouldn’t have to deal with any trouble, and won’t need to use magic, right?"
Before Jesse could speak, the succubus quickly pulled down his pants and was about to bury her head between his legs. Jesse grabbed her horn and lifted it, saying, "Whether we need magic or not is up to me."
Molofeel stared into Jesse’s eyes, and her long tongue suddenly darted out, swiftly licked him, leaving him feeling numb. He watched as she retracted her tongue, swirled it in her mouth a few times, and closed her eyes in enjoyment.
"You wait for me…"
"Well, Master decides. Do you need to use magic tomorrow?" she asked softly.
"I think… don’t need to use it…" Jesse swallowed nervously.
As he let go, Molofeel immediately lowered her head and swallowed him whole…
"Tonight is doomed…"
Just as this thought crossed his mind, with a greedy gulp, Jesse felt like half of his life was being sucked out of him, almost fainting. He had to grip the edge of the bed tightly to feel a sense of being alive…
Early in the morning, Jesse sat on the bridge over Lake Everstill, watching the flowing river with a mind blank.
Molofeel was really mean, almost making him pass out from exhaustion, definitely with a desire for revenge that had been building up for a long time. If it weren’t for the Living Ice Crystals in his hand that helped him relax that night, he probably wouldn’t have any energy left at that moment.
Even now, holding the bag in his hand and feeling the Arcane energy flowing slowly into his body, he felt like he couldn’t turn back.
Molofeel beside him was full of energy, like a magic bomb ready to explode at any moment, even though he had been invisible, he insisted on staying close by.
At this moment, he finally saw two familiar figures appear at the inn entrance, the two men he had met yesterday, a priest and a hunter.
Jesse stood up, brushed off the dust from his pants, and walked over. Father Hubert saw him and waved, saying, "by all that is holy, at least someone is still awake."
"Where are the others?" Jesse asked.
Hunter Dunn replied, "What else can they do, it’s just a pre-departure celebration, they surely plan to have fun. At least Aubergine hasn’t arrived yet, we can wait here for them!"
The three of them sat at the inn entrance for a while, when suddenly Dunn looked up and gazed into the distance, a man wearing a very nice light blue tight-fitting outer jacket was waving and walking towards them.
Jesse noticed that his coat was actually a short robe, along with the ring on his hand…
As the man approached, Jesse was surprised to see that he was wearing the official mage ring of the Wizard’s Sanctum!
He was actually a mage, despite what Erlan had described, Jesse had thought he was a dwarf.
Even though they were both from the Wizard’s Sanctum, Jesse had never seen this person before, and he didn’t seem to recognize Jesse either. After greeting Dunn and Hubert, he approached Jesse and asked, "Are you Mr. Jurke?"
"Yes, I am," Jesse replied.
"Erlan Drudgemoor thinks highly of your abilities," Aubergine said, "That’s why I plan to venture further south, towards the hills near Stonard for exploration."
Lowering his voice, he continued, "So, I need more and stronger assistance, more warlocks. By the way, did Erlan discuss the commission with you?"
Jesse nodded and said, "He did."
"I hope you can demonstrate the strength worthy of this price, Mr. Jurke," Aubergine said.
"I hope we don’t encounter anything." The priest said, "Just like the first time we came, when Erlan and Surena weren’t with us."
"But that time didn’t bring much harvest, at least much less than the second time." Dunn said.
Aubergine said, "Nowadays, there are more forces looking for demon bodies, which means if we avoid dangerous places, we will have less to gain."
