Chapter 477: Completion of the Summoning Ritual
Molofeel glanced at Jesse, who remained silent. Molofeel then said, "It seems you have not fully submitted to your master, Gacresse. I believe I have to complete the final step of this summoning ritual, which is taming."
"Taming?" Gacresse suddenly held a spiked scepter in his hand and said coldly, "It’s not your turn, you may not even know what you are facing. Huntress of witches, my former mistress was Lady Delica. Do you think I am just a…"
"Never heard of her."
As Molofeel’s words faded, she disappeared in a flash of light. The smile on the Demon of Pleasure’s face instantly vanished, and its skin turned from light pink to bright red.
In the blink of an eye, the situation changed drastically. Jesse had just grabbed the sword by her waist when Gacresse suddenly flapped his wings, sending a large pink mist swirling around the room!
Saenor screamed and hid in a bag, Erlan quickly pulled up the mask around his neck to cover his nose and retreated into the corridor. However, Surena, who was closest, was sprayed in the face by the mist and immediately seemed to faint, muttering incomprehensible words.
Jesse instinctively covered her mouth and nose, feeling dizzy and disoriented. Just as she struggled to remain conscious, the Living Ice Crystals in her waist bag started to release their power. Sensing the clean Arcane energy flowing out, Jesse felt a bit relieved.
Suddenly, a shadow pierced through the pink mist in the field of vision and charged towards Gacresse. After a low roar and the sound of furniture crashing down, the room quieted down.
Taking out the Living Ice Crystals from the bag, their light gradually dispersed the surrounding pink mist. Before long, the room returned to normal.
In front of Molofeel sat on the table, swinging his two hooves. Gacresse was pierced in the neck by the sword of the black Tosrezm, firmly nailed to the wall, twitching all over and making a whimpering sound with black-purple magic blood overflowing from his mouth.
Molofeel glanced at Gacresse lying limp underneath him like a dead snake, then looked at Jesse and asked, "Should we chop this one up? At least then he will behave for a while, Master."
"Wait, this is one of Surena’s servants," said Jesse.
Erlan coughed as he walked out from behind the door, patted Surena’s face and said, "Hey, Surena Caledon! What’s all this mess about?!"
"Ah… um… uh…"
Surena, who had been slapped several times, suddenly came to her senses, breathing heavily.
"Sorry, Jesse… I…"
Then she noticed Gacresse, trembling with both hands and legs, nailed to the wall.
"He attacked me?! He actually… attacked his own master?!"
"He attacked me, but accidentally hurt you. Overall, at least he didn’t charm you. So, it’s not completely hopeless, Mrs. Surena Caledon," Molofeel said with a smile. "I think he’s just a bit arrogant and needs a lesson. Should I cut off his thing to make him more alert?"
"No…please don’t," Surena immediately said.
"It will grow back," Molofeel said. "He’s a Sayaad, not like Erlan Drudgemoor."
Erlan uncomfortably covered his crotch and cleared his throat, saying, "Don’t use me as an example."
"Don’t do that, Ms. Molofeel," Surena said. "Give me a chance. I will control him using his real name. I’ve truly learned my lesson this time."
Molofeel looked at Jesse, who nodded, before she sheathed the black sword stained with succubus purple blood.
Gacresse fell to the ground with wide empty eyes, clutching their neck where blood gushed out, convulsing uncontrollably.
"Don’t let me catch you raising that thing in front of me and my master again. I’ll cut it off much faster than my master can say my real name. My name is quite long, Gacresse," Molofeel said.
Gacresse nodded vigorously, spat out a mouthful of pus-filled blood, and said with difficulty, "I understand…ma’am."
Erlan spent a lot of time tidying up the house again, making sure the mess didn’t attract the attention of the guards or other neighbors outside. In the evening, the three of them boarded Erlan’s carriage with the demons and set off from Goldshire towards Lakeshire.
Even though Gacresse’s neck was stabbed, Jesse could still see his weakened shadow curled up in the corner of the carriage with Detect Demon.
"I’m sorry, Jesse," Surena said apologetically. "It wasn’t my intention. He has a habit of making decisions for me without my consent. But I thought since he is a demon, he should know more than me when we are looking for demon bodies, so I’ve gotten used to his care…"
"Don’t let the demon take control of you, Surena," Jesse sighed. "Of course, when I first summoned Molofeel, I also lost myself for a while, so I can’t blame you. We can only progress slowly bit by bit."
"Was Ms. Molofeel also disobedient at first?" Erlan, who was driving the carriage, asked curiously looking back.
"Not exactly disobedient," Jesse replied. "It was my own issue."
Erlan looked at Jesse’s complicated expression and didn’t know what to say for a moment. After a while, he said, "Even I’m a bit worried now, considering I’m the only one left who hasn’t summoned a succubus."
With that, he touched his hair, smelled his fingers, and said with a frown, "There’s still a smell lingering. I must wash by the river when we reach Eastvale later. It’s unbearable."
"And Jalane Ayrole," Jesse added.
"Oh, yes, but that woman is clearly very talented," Erlan said. "I think if she’s willing, she can quickly summon a succubus or Felhound, but Zardeth doesn’t want her to rush."
"When you went with those people to The Black Morass before, did you notice Gacresse’s issue?" Jesse asked.
"The Dwarf Warlock thinks Gacresse is strong, and he admires me," Surena said. "So I am happy to have such a companion to summon…and he has indeed helped a lot on the way, not just in that way…so relax your guard, Jesse."
"That’s how Sayaad is, competitive and jealous!" Saenor suddenly popped his head out of the bag and said. "He must feel threatened by Molofeel, so he wants to show off. Ha! Who knows this sinister and violent mother Sayaad is much more competitive than him!"
Jesse felt Molofeel’s shadow nearby getting a bit annoyed, and immediately said, "Honestly, go back into the bag and hide."
"There’s no one around, master!" imp looked around and said. "But I’ll still follow the master’s orders, after all, there’s already a poor guy on the carriage who was beaten for not obeying orders!"
Surena covered her face and said, "I must have been out of my mind!"
In the middle of the night near Eastvale, Erlan didn’t drive the carriage near the logging camp’s campsite. The three of them got off the road, walked along the river for a while, washed their clothes in a smooth section of the river, and also washed themselves briefly.
No one felt like saying anything under the icy cold soak of the late autumn river water. Jesse stared straight at Molofeel on the riverbank, as well as Gacresse huddled under a tree in the distance, thinking that the problem had been resolved ahead of time. If they only showed up in a crisis, there would really be a fatal outcome.
