Chapter 475: Curse of Recklessness
Jesse agreed to meet Erlan and Surena at Erlan’s house in Goldshire the next afternoon. After leaving The Slaughtered Lamb at night, Jesse went back to his previous rental and took away the remaining things and two demon companions.
Upon arriving at the new house, Molofeel cautiously sniffed around and said, "There is no scent of an owner here, it’s hard to get used to."
"What scent, sweat smell?" Jesse glanced at her and said, "It’s much more spacious than before, isn’t it, Molofeel? You two can live more comfortably here."
"I don’t have any requirements for space, master," Molofeel said.
"The rent for this room is ridiculously expensive, to put it nicely, darn it," Jesse complained.
"What praise is higher than what you like?" the succubus said with narrowed eyes, "Anything I say is unnecessary, dear."
Jesse awkwardly cleared his throat and said, "Alright, alright, that’s enough. I do really like it, after all, I still have requirements for space."
He sat on the bed and lay down, saying, "It’s been a long time since I’ve stretched out comfortably like this. After growing a few inches inexplicably last time, my feet kept hitting the wall and my knees were bent on the previous bed, it was excruciatingly painful."
He stretched out his arm and said, "Saenor, pass me your Curse of Recklessness, I didn’t practice any spells on the way to Booty Bay this time, it feels like I wasted time."
"Here I am, master," Saenor jumped onto the bed and placed the section about Curse of Recklessness from Sorrel’s copied Gakin manual on Jesse’s chest. Jesse picked it up and softly recited the spell.
Ur’ur, Go’ato, Yadros.
"Master’s Eredun is sounding more like an Eredar every day!" imp happily exclaimed.
"So you worked on correcting this spell for several days?" Jesse asked.
Imp whispered, "Although it’s short, it’s … it’s quite tricky to find."
Jesse flicked imp on the head, making him fly off the bed, and grumbled, "Don’t laze around with me here."
"Master!" Saenor climbed back onto the bed and said, "I corrected it very seriously!"
Jesse looked at succubus and asked, "I remember you know the Curse of Recklessness spell, Molofeel, don’t you?"
"My Curse of Recklessness is guided by our demon kind’s incantations, master. Only Sayaad can guide it in this way, just as only Nathrezim can transform into dark bats and fly away…" succubus lay beside Jesse and said, "I don’t deny that some human mages can also become bats, but the way they do it is definitely not the same as Nathrezim."
"I almost understand," Jesse said. "I am going to try this spell, Curse of Recklessness… It shouldn’t be too destructive, so I’ll test it on you two now."
"Test it on me, master," Molofeel said, licking his lips and pleading.
Jesse looked at her magic eye, already burning with intensity, sensing her recklessness even without using the spell.
"Give me a break, I still want to live a few more years," Jesse said, turning to the imp watching them. "I’ll use you as the test subject."
Saenor puzzled, pointed to herself and asked, "Me? Why…"
"You were lazy," Jesse said.
Jesse glanced at the spell and quickly chanted, "Uruur, Gloato, Yadus."
While casting the spell, he felt a rush of heat to his head, directing the energy quickly onto Saenor, making a gesture similar to the Curse of Weakness.
Then, he saw a small flame burst above Saenor’s head, who yelled in surprise and asked, "Why test it on me, what can I do?! What can I do?!"
"Is the master going to punish me?! Why is it this kind of punishment?"
The imp jumped off the bed and ran around, leaving a trail of sparks from the demon fire on the ground. One spark ignited the bed sheet, causing Jesse to quickly put out the flame with his hand and say, "Catch it, Molofeel!"
Molofeel swayed her hips and lifted the erratic fire-spurting imp with her tail. The flames burned her tail, making her wince, but Saenor continued to roar, "Don’t stop me! I will kill all the fools blocking the way for the master! I will destroy this pitiful world that traps the master! I will punish everyone in this world."
Jesse watched as the imp howled and gathered two flames in his hands. Was he going to set the house on fire?
The first day of moving in!
Across was the Stormwind Prison!
"Lidestawening!"
Jesse decisively used a counter spell to stop Saenor, causing the imp to scream and fall over, dizzy. The flames on its head and hands quickly extinguished, looking like a yellow dead mouse hanging in the air by a succubus tail.
Molofeel tossed it onto the table with her tail and rubbed the tip of her tail with her hand, softly saying, "This little thing sure has strong firepower."
"Almost burned down the house," sighed Jesse.
"If we need its help in battle, give it a Curse of Recklessness, Master," Molofeel said leaning against the wall. "Make it stronger so it can assist us!"
"Then it will attract too much attention," Jesse said. "This guy is too fragile, easily taken down. It’s better to keep it calm and discreet, waiting for the right moment to ignite the enemy, or give us a Blood Pact to save us. It’s not its turn for direct combat."
"The Master seems to care for this little thing," Molofeel said unhappily. "It makes me jealous."
"You too, Molofeel," Jesse said.
"I could use the Curse of Recklessness," the succubus smiled shyly, "I’m not that fragile…"
"Better be cautious," Jesse said. "But I’m thinking, casting Curse of Recklessness on the enemies, wouldn’t it make them more dangerous?"
Molofeel said, "Making enemies furious is a good strategy, especially for mages. Increasing their rage will disrupt their plans, make them impulsive, restless… and casting spells more difficult. It works for mages and warlocks alike, don’t forget, Master, how crucial emotions are for spellcasting."
"What about those warriors?" Jesse asked.
Molofeel said, "Even warriors can’t stay calm facing their opponents, making it easier for the opponents to find weaknesses. I am good at finding weaknesses."
