Chapter 442: The Golden Conch
On a rainy night, the "Golden Snail" sailed smoothly on the sea.
This was a big ship carrying goods and food from Stormwind to Hillsbrad, as well as dozens of passengers.
Because there was enough space, passengers willing to pay an extra ten silver coins could get a small cabin. Jesse paid as well, since he brought two stowaways.
"I want you to imagine… the desperate look on that fat, stupid creature’s face as it’s about to die… Yes… master…"
"So when you… think about the moment you killed him, how does it make you feel… Ah…"
Molofeel tightly hugged his master’s neck, jumping vigorously on his legs, his two burning magic eyes staring intensely at Jesse.
"That’s it, my dear, just like that…"
Before long, her magic eyes started flickering, one of her hooves trying to step on the edge of the bed for stability, but failing several times… After a while, she couldn’t even speak.
She grabbed Jesse’s arm tightly, closed her eyes, couldn’t control opening her lips, and tilted her head back…
Jesse looked at her tense neck curve and took a breath, grasping her horn with one hand and continuing to exert force, feeling the swallow of her lower body, heartbeat speeding up, feeling a bit of clear numbness.
Suddenly the door made two "clank" sounds, Molofeel opened his eyes angrily, showing his sharp teeth and turning his head to stare in the direction of the door. The murderous intent emanating from the demon instantly made Jesse lose all interest.
"Hide." Jesse whispered.
The succubus supported his shoulder and stood up, Jesse frowned, this uncomfortable expression actually made her lose the bloodthirsty momentum she had just shown.
The demon hid in the shadows, Jesse wrapped herself in a cloak and went to the door. After opening it, she found that the person knocking on the door had already left.
"Ah, what are you doing?"
"So there was someone." The person turned back and said, "Be careful, there’s trouble on the ship. Also, the captain asked me to find anyone who can fight to help on the deck, you…"
He hesitated as he looked at Jesse’s slender arms and cheeks, asking, "Can you do it?"
"It depends on what we’re up against." Jesse replied.
"I still don’t know."
Jesse frowned and asked, "Don’t know? How do you know there’s something approaching?"
"The captain has a mage advisor from Kul Tiras who sensed the presence of impurity approaching," the sailor explained before adding, "If you don’t believe it, just close the door!"
"Thank you," Jesse nodded.
The sailor said nothing and walked towards the depths of the corridor, while Jesse leaned against the door frame feeling the gentle swaying of the ship, with the wind not too strong and the waves not too big.
Using Detect Demon, he looked around – besides the two demons in the room, was there anything else?
"Could it be that the captain’s mage has found you two?"
Jesse asked the succubus in the room.
Molofeel sat with a pout, squeezing his legs tightly, while Saenor sat on the other side, pretending to read the scroll written by Jesse.
Jesse was putting on clothes and asked, "Hey, is it?"
Imp put down the scroll and said, "If you could feel it, you would feel it when boarding, master, that mage is not that strong at all! He’s just an enchanter…"
As it lifted its nose, it said, "Speaking of which, Sayaad’s scent is really strange! Wait, is this your scent, master?"
"Stop talking nonsense," Jesse asked, "Can you sense anything around us?"
"At least no demons," Molofeel sat with hands on cheeks, "Master doesn’t allow me to go to places full of demons, but instead takes me to places full of humans, then how useful can I be…"
At this point, her expression changed as she said, "Wait… there seems to be a hint of shadowy scent."
Jesse moved his nose, looked outside the door, as if he smelled a familiar scent.
"Keep an eye on the money, keep an eye on the luggage," he pointed at two demons, "Don’t leave this door… don’t expose yourselves in front of those passengers."
"You’ve said it countless times, master," Molofeel said, eyes slanted.
Jesse nodded and wandered back and forth in the corridor, watching the rain splashing against the side window. He carefully observed the surroundings outside and then leaned out to look towards the sea.
The dark sea water made it impossible to see anything.
Suddenly, a door opening sound came from nearby, and a young female passenger emerged from a nearby cabin. She was wearing casual clothes, but Jesse noticed the apprentice ring of Wizard’s Sanctum on her hand.
She looked over and asked, "What’s going on, sir? Were you also woken up by the knocking on the door?"
Jesse nodded and replied, "I think our ship might be in trouble."
"Is it a storm?" The female passenger sighed and said, "I’ve heard that Palatine Bay is not calm…"
"We’re not even at Palatine Bay yet," Jesse said. "It’s probably something else."
Just as he finished speaking, Jesse watched in horror as a pitch-black shadow suddenly darted out of the window next to the girl, a slimy tail tightly wrapped around her neck!
Jesse reacted quickly, casting the Scorch Curse spell, a ball of bright red flames instantly bursting the tail. A sharp scream from the girl outside pierced through, and something unknown thudded into the sea.
Jesse quickly leaned out and looked outside. After a lightning strike, shadows appeared under the water surface.
"Naga," he said to the woman, "there are Naga."
"Black Magic… It’s Black Magic…" The woman covered her neck, looking at Jesse fearfully, "You can use Black Magic!"
Jesse looked at her, feeling a surge of anger.
"Unfortunately, you’ve recognized me, madam. I am indeed an evil sorcerer. Even if those cursed Naga climb on board to meet me, they would probably be scared to pee out of their vents."
"So go ahead and tell the others on the ship that I am a warlock who controls Black Magic and summons devilish demons."
The girl looked at Jesse and quickly said as she walked to the end of the corridor, "I’m sorry, sir… I didn’t mean to say that."
Jesse turned back and said, "Go back to your room, lock the door, and don’t come out looking for trouble, young apprentice."
The girl nodded repeatedly and hurried into her room, closing the door with a thud.
After speaking, Jesse started to walk up the stairs step by step, while pulling out the Azuresong Mageblade that was shimmering with a faint blue magical light.
Now he wasn’t Jesse Seso anymore, but Jurke, a warlock with a very ordinary name of Language Dwarven.
No ring, no Wizard’s Sanctum robe, not many people recognizing him, even those who had met him hesitated upon seeing him again.
Feeling pretty good.
