Chapter 386: A Dangerous Venture

A huge ferocious beast emerged from the crack, immediately going wild upon seeing Jesse in front of it. Jesse felt it was quite strong, with a body size comparable to an overly fat pig.

"What a… impressive Felhunter, Jesse Seso!" Mor’zul exclaimed loudly, moving closer excitedly. The Felhunter beside him also nervously growled.

In the bright light from the burning brazier in the courtyard, this demon looked even scarier. Jesse could see red scales under the black fur, resembling flesh cut into pieces.

As it broke free from the crack, it immediately lunged towards Jesse. Layers of serrated teeth protruded from its blood-stained mouth, with a purple slimy tongue wrapping around.

Jesse stepped back, but the hound moved incredibly fast. With a leap, it was in front of Jesse, thrusting its bone-like spikes from its shoulders. Jesse grabbed them tightly.

The forces clashed, pushing Jesse back a considerable distance. Mor’zul’s astonishment was understandable. This creature was far more savage and violent than the Felhunter he had encountered in the alley.

The Felhunter wobbled on the ground, realizing Jesse’s strength was formidable. It immediately swung the tendrils on its back upwards towards Jesse’s neck.

Jesse raised his head to dodge the first tendril, but the second one bit onto his shoulder. He kicked hard on the Felhunter’s head, pushing it away, then used Gorefiend’s Grasp to grab one of its horns on the shoulder and pulled back forcefully.

With this force and the Felhunter’s forced retreat, its upper half, including a part of its head and an arm, were torn off!

Evil blood splattered, emitting a pungent smell. However, the Felhunter did not die. The half of its head on the ground with tentacle-like hairs trembled, and the tongue extending from its jaw swayed. It stood up straight again and charged towards Jesse.

Demons are hard to kill if their hearts are not destroyed. Especially monsters like Felhunter. Even though it lost its head and couldn’t charge straight ahead, Jesse took out a dagger, cut off its approaching tentacles, and stabbed its side fiercely a few times to finally stop its frenzy.

After killing the monster, Jesse took a few deep breaths while holding his waist. Mor’zul’s Felhunter, which had just been summoned, started tearing into the corpse. By comparing the two, Jesse realized that the Felhunter he summoned was unusually large.

"It’s dead," Jesse said. "I wasted one of your Soulstones, Mor’zul."

At that moment, the Felhunter tore open the demon’s chest using its tentacles, revealing a demon heart pierced by the dagger, with purple and green colors. As the heart was pulled out, the entire massive Felhunter’s body suddenly lost its shine and became dull.

The hound returned to Mor’zul and placed the heart beside him.

"It was not a waste at all," Mor’zul said as he picked up the broken demon heart from the ground. "Even piercing the demon heart has value, not to mention its enormous size. I believe the Soulstone has been put to good use."

"You do have remarkable shadow talents as Gakin mentioned. Together, we can achieve things I never thought possible, Jesse. Even though you can summon such a powerful Felhunter, it pales in comparison to our next plan."

"But it’s already late," he said. "You can rest here. I have a few empty rooms available for guests, and Daphne will take good care of you."

Jesse glanced at the succubus in the distance, who was staring at him with longing eyes, filled with a thirst for magic.

Looking at Jesse with a hint of doubt in her eyes, Mor’zul said, "Don’t you like it? Your magic can make her stronger, she can gain ultimate satisfaction… and I can also get better protection, you can also get pleasure, hah, I really can’t see any reason to hesitate."

"Are you worried she will harm you?"

"It’s not that I doubt anything," Jesse said. "It’s just that I’ve been here for too long, Mor’zul. But thank you for your kindness. Also, my horse staying at the inn needs care, I must return to Moonbrook now to prepare for tomorrow’s journey."

Mor’zul smiled and said, "Well then, goodbye Jesse. I hope you consider my offer carefully, the rewards will be great. Since you don’t want to accept her kindness, at least take this bag of Soulstone. It’s not easy to come by in Stormwind." He handed over the bag in his hand.

"Thank you." Jesse nodded, took the bag, and walked away from the lonely cabin in the woods.

He couldn’t trust Mor’zul yet.

Even though he was still alive in the game, and had become a very powerful Demon Warlock, Jesse couldn’t be sure that working with him would be problem-free based solely on that.

After all, Gakin was also alive in the game.

Back in the inn in Moonbrook, Jesse kept wondering what kind of demon Mor’zul wanted to summon.

In the game, the warlock player can summon a demon stronger than Felhunter… it’s called Demon Guard.

Demon Guard is a tall Mo’arg Demon, wearing heavy armor and wielding a huge weapon, very strong and skilled in battle.

Even though these demon soldiers are better at direct combat than succubus, and tougher than imp and Felhunter, they are considered only vanguard in the whole Burning Legion, and were even seen among the Orc Legion warlocks invading Azeroth.

Mor’zul’s description of the demon he wants to summon is so terrifying, would he be satisfied with spending so much effort just to summon a high-level cannon fodder that even an Orc can control?

After all, what he seeks is to surpass the achievements of those Orc Warlocks. If not Demon Guard, then what?

There are just too many types of demons, and Jesse’s thoughts are jumbled with no clear conclusion for the moment.

Certainly, the demons that can be summoned here are not limited to those allowed to be summoned by warlocks in the game.

Breaking free from the constraints of the game, the famous Gnomish warlock Wilfred Fizzlebang could even summon a powerful Eredar Lord.

During the Scourge War, Kel’Thuzad even managed to summon the corruptor Archimonde himself here.

So, Jesse didn’t really want to be involved in this plan that had endless possibilities and was very dangerous.

But Mor’zul clearly had a lot of knowledge that neither he nor the other people at The Slaughtered Lamb understood, especially when it came to Mor’zul’s spells and where his knowledge came from… it was really intriguing.

This was what Jesse was most interested in.

He planned to investigate further into the background of this person, to see where he got this knowledge of demonology from. His collection of books at home definitely wasn’t written by him, and it was unlikely that he collected them all himself. The stacked parchment must also have been copied from somewhere.

In any case, Mor’zul definitely didn’t come up with all of these things on his own in that room.
