Chapter 366: Disturbed Earth
At this moment, the rocks in the entire ravine seem to be getting really hot, almost like they’re about to boil.
Before going crazy, Deathwing was known as the Earth Guardian. Their offspring can control the elements of lava and scorched earth. The black dragon that just passed by has flown far away, but the crazy power it brought has clearly made these elements abnormal.
The newly formed earth element immediately lunged towards the direction of two dwarfs. Greed swung a hammer to smash a rock and block the earth element’s incoming strike. The scattered debris exploded into the sky.
The earth element angrily made a rumbling sound as the wind blew over the rocks. The hot body of the element rotated around, absorbing a large chunk of debris to reform into a fist. Another fist quickly struck towards Daggett.
In the midst of these actions, Jesse quickly muttered a weak spell. Just as the earth element was about to chase after Daggett, a large chunk of debris fell down as Curse of Weakness was released, disrupting its momentum.
The element felt its scorching power being hindered by the Shadow Magic approaching from behind. It was about to strike towards Jesse when Greed quickly hit its body with a hammer!
The struck boulder shattered with a loud crash, causing the entire earth element to tilt and collapse like a destroyed stone house.
The first standing earth element was knocked down after a few hits, but several earth elements of different sizes had already risen around.
Jesse felt a wave of hot wind behind him. When he turned around, he saw several rocks gathering in flames, swinging towards him, still unformed, to launch an attack!
The shapeless earth element swung the power of rocks with great strength, but its overwhelming force revealed its intent too early.
Jesse easily dodged the attack, cast Scorch Curse at one of its "arms" out of habit. However, the flames hit the already burning rocks with little effect. Despite shattering a few pieces, the fire seemed to attract more rocks to gather together, making the earth element appear larger.
Greed let out a roar behind him, followed by the sound of a war hammer smashing rocks. It was obvious that they were also being entangled by other earth elements.
"Ku…ka!"
The earth element in front of Jesse, with two fiery eyes, suddenly sprayed a bunch of rubble from under its eyes. Jesse dodged to the side, hot rocks scattered all over the ground. Then, a burning whirlwind blew up, bringing the scattered rocks back to the earth element.
After consolidating these rubble, the earth element seemed to grow taller again.
Jesse easily grabbed a piece of rubble from its chest using Gorefiend’s Grasp, causing the earth element’s body to sway, but it quickly filled the gap with several large rocks. A clump of stones swept in from the side to fill the previous gap, making a strange whooshing sound. The rubble beneath it suddenly accelerated towards Jesse, rolling like a charge towards him, lifting its arms high. Jesse reacted quickly, immediately chanting, "Tom Sogas, Viholi…"
The arms formed by giant stones struck down together. Jesse dodged aside to avoid the blow, glancing at the cracked dry ground it hit. He continued chanting, "…Siya, Vasdaong!"
The earth element, furious for missing its strike, violently swung its fist, hitting the Shadow Shield with full force!
The Shadow Shield took the hit firmly, the dark shadow shield with dark colors exploded loudly, earth element was knocked back and his whole arm shattered, sending a swirl of dust into the air.
The light purple Dark Energy ate away at the rocks on his body and head, slowing down his gathering of shattered rocks.
Jesse raised his magic wand towards the half-broken earth element, focused his mind, and chanted the Scorch Curse. The bursting Shadowflame devoured the remaining fire on its broken body, triggering a more intense dark explosion.
The force of the exploding flame not only shattered the rocks, but the Shadow Power inside passed through the heat of the congealed stone element, digging a black elemental "fissure", as if directly infecting and destroying the power connecting these broken stones.
The already heavily damaged earth element immediately disintegrated, the floating giant stones fell one by one, dimmed, turned black, rolled a short distance, and never moved again.
Jesse took a breath, the scattered rubble on the ground had lost its vitality. Looking into the distance, Greed had just smashed a pile of earth elements with his war hammer and threw it at an earth element that was entangled with Daggett.
Daggett defended against the earth element’s attacks with a long stick, looking like an agile fellow, but was a bit embarrassed under the continuous strikes of the earth element.
Greed’s war hammer struck the back of that earth element with lightning, his lightning war hammer was very effective against such elements, a burst of electric current directly smashed the stone into the air, rescuing Daggett from the continuous hammerings.
He retracted the hammer with electric power, nodded at Daggett, and Daggett also took a breath, raised his hand and said, "Thanks, brother Greed, I’m okay!"
Greed shrugged and said, "I was hoping for more folks to show up, so I could release the anger from being chased by a bunch of wild animals for half the night."
Daggett looked at the two people in front of him and said, "You two are even more amazing than I thought. If we had people like you in the expedition team back then, maybe we wouldn’t have ended up in such a sorry state."
He looked at the broken stones on the ground, searched through them, walked to a big rock with cracks, still smoking, took out a chisel, smashed it, and black smoke billowed out.
"What is that?" Greed asked.
"Watch this." Daggett said as he took out a thick glove from his backpack that looked like an oven mitt, put it on, picked up a piece of the still smoky broken stone from the ground and said, "This is a fragment of the earth element’s core, experienced Alchemists can refine real earth element from it… I mean pure Elemental Earth."
It was Elemental Earth… Jesse had completely forgotten about it in the heat of the battle with the earth element earlier.
"Are there other earth element creatures?" he asked. "The ones nearby?"
"These things are not common," Daggett said. "Because the force that drives the earth element in the world disappears when the earth element collapses, leaving behind a core with warmth like this is rare. The other stones have all cooled."
Daggett picked up the stone with his glove and handed it to Jesse, saying, "Find a skilled Alchemist, offer them two or three silver coins for labor and materials, and they will be willing to help you refine this core into Elemental Earth, mage."
"Do you want this special stone that you found?" Greed asked.
"I only want to go in one more time, nothing else is necessary, you all defeated those hostile elements, so it should belong to you," Daggett said. "Let’s keep moving forward."
