Chapter 345: The Summoning Assembly

The rain had lessened in the afternoon, Jesse bid farewell to the administrator and returned to the Mage Quarter.

He planned to go to The Slaughtered Lamb, to see if there were any potions that could help him and Greed travel to Khaz Modan.

Even though the Invisibility Potion could help avoid the Dark Iron Dwarves, Jesse knew there was another trouble in Uldaman, the Rockjaw Trogg.

Rockjaw Trogg was fierce and rough, but also had a Shamanic ability to control natural elements due to his strong connection with the earth and mud.

To defeat this monster, you need to prepare some potions that protect against nature.

Jesse had just arrived in the basement when he saw Zardeth discussing something with Surena and Erlan.

"Are you all here? Is Ursula around?" he asked.

"Of course, Jesse, she’s inside packing up and will be out soon," Zardeth said. "You’ve arrived just in time; I was about to send Surena to find you."

Jesse patted the rainwater dripping from his wet hair and asked, "What’s going on?"

"I plan to summon a succubus," Zardeth said. "I think it’s time for us to take this step. Do you have time this afternoon and evening?"

"Certainly," Jesse nodded.

"Great," Zardeth said. "I’ve been wanting to complete what Gakin didn’t finish before. Ursula mentioned that you were away on a mission to the south for a while, so now that you’re back and have time, let’s quickly get this done."

Erlan said, "According to Gakin’s notes, summoning a succubus requires sacrificing a soul and having a magical object that proves love."

"A magical object that proves love?" Jesse asked, "What does he mean specifically?"

"I have no idea," Erlan said, "Gakin had so many things there, I don’t know what he actually used."

But what Jesse was really curious about was why he was able to summon a succubus without using any so-called proof of love magical object.

This is also why he was completely unprepared for a succubus to appear at first, because in the game, summoning a succubus usually requires something representing the power of love to attract her attention.

Erlan exclaimed, "How did he figure all this out?"

"I think he probably went to see Mor’zul," Zardeth said, "I have always suspected that even after Mor’zul left us, he still kept in touch with that guy."

"But no matter how he found out, it indirectly helped us. Let’s try summoning a succubus today!"

"So, what love token do you want to use?" Jesse asked.

"One wedding ring, this should be good." Erlan said, "I bought it, spent a lot of money on it, the person who sold it to me said its previous owner passed away from grief after her husband’s death."

"Who sold this ring then?" Ursula walked over and asked.

"Who else could it be, their children, of course," Surena smiled.

Ursula clicked her tongue and looked at Erlan, asking, "Could it be that the seller made up the story just to trick you into buying it, and in the end, it’s all just a lie?"

"Why would someone trying to sell me a wedding ring come up with such a disgusting story to gross me out?" Erlan glanced at Surena and said, "You agree, right?"

"Get lost," Surena shot him a displeased look.

"Anyways, trying it out is the only way to see if it works or not," Zardeth said.

"What about the soul?" Jesse asked.

"There are a few small Soulstones in Gakin’s room." Zardeth pointed to a black box on the table.

Jesse picked it up and asked, "Can I open it to have a look?"

"Of course," said Zardeth.

Ursula said, "A soul is trapped in the Soulstone, not in a box."

Jesse opened the box and saw a small, black, glass-like shard inside. He could feel a fearful soul trembling inside, and it wasn’t a human soul.

However, even for summoning a special succubus like Molofeel, a human soul wasn’t needed. So, this should work.

After looking, Jesse closed the box. Zardeth brought over the Soulstone and a ring, asking, "Are you ready to summon?"

Jesse replied, "You go first."

Zardeth nodded and said, "If anything unexpected happens, I hope you all can help me as much as possible. After all, this is a true demon, and one of us has already lost their life."

The surrounding warlocks nodded. Jesse noticed Erlan holding a pair of tongs and picked up a fruit knife from the table.

Everyone gathered in the practice room. Zardeth placed the Soulstone and ring in the center of the shadowy magic circle. He stood up, took a deep breath, looking a bit nervous.

Others were even more nervous. Surena and Ursula stood at the door, as if ready to run at any moment. Erlan leaned against the wall, tightly holding a pair of pliers, staring intently at Jesse.

Zardeth glanced at the spell on the paper, then turned to Jesse and said, "I know you’ve killed succubus before, Jesse, but please give me some time…"

"The demon’s mental magic," Jesse reminded.

Zardeth nodded, turned back, and focused on the paper in his hand, starting to chant, "In Hagete, Tuliocksanoni…"

He chanted slowly and earnestly. Jesse noticed the Soulstone seemed to respond.

"Tayantasaidini, Binosodoxis, Tarwiset, Elerman, Urhaukis…"

As the spell finished, the Soulstone dimmed, the shadowy magic circle lost its color, and the ring gave off a faint vibration.

Suddenly, for no apparent reason, a gust of air blew out the only lighting brazier in the room.

"What’s going on!"

"Me…"

In the darkness, there were whispers, Jesse mumbled a Scorch Curse and rekindled the fire basin, suddenly illuminating the room, revealing a pale-skinned female demon smiling as she leaned against Zardeth.

Zardeth turned his head to look at her, looking weak and exhausted from using too much magic, barely standing with the demon’s support.

The demon did not look at Zardeth, but instead stared in their direction. "Hmm, you’re not like the others."

Just as Jesse was about to pull out his dagger, these words sent a chill down his spine, making him glance sideways to see everyone in the training room acting strangely.

"You should kill him, master," the succubus whispered softly, leaning against Zardeth’s neck.

"No, I shouldn’t…" Zardeth struggled to say these words.

"The master doesn’t want to listen, he must be very tired," the succubus sighed helplessly.

"So, the master’s friends, help the master deal with this unruly creature."
