Chapter 315: Getting Ready for a New Adventure (Part One)
Jesse’s understanding of Booty Bay… Honestly, apart from the in-game content and some details mentioned by others, there wasn’t much left.
Booty Bay isn’t like Dalaran or Lakeshire, relatively peaceful places where you can explore slowly after arriving. It’s a free port where all kinds of people gather – gladiators, mercenaries, pirates, merchants, and wild mages. Rushing in without any preparation would definitely lead to trouble.
Back home, Jesse examined the cloak that had been almost half burned.
Although it still fits, this cloak is quite rare and special. Wearing it might make me stand out and be recognized by others, especially since it’s torn.
When he goes to Booty Bay, it’s best to use a fake name to hide his identity as much as possible.
And I don’t think Booty Bay has any fire magic, so this Incendosaur cloak doesn’t have any special advantages compared to other cloaks.
So, it’s better to buy a new one that’s less conspicuous.
"By the way, I plan to take you two out," he said, looking at the succubus.
"Out?!"
Molofeel was originally sitting on the bed, idly scratching his horns, but as soon as he heard this, he sat up and asked, "Is my eternal imprisonment finally over?"
"Eternal… it’s only been about two months in total, right?"
"Where is the master going next…?" Saenor weakly asked, "Don’t make me deal with black dragons like last time… Master, let me live a few more days, I haven’t seen enough of beautiful Azeroth, oh, the Ley Lines…"
"Not going to fight," Jesse said. "I’m going to a harbor managed by goblins to buy something."
"Hmm…" the succubus whispered, sitting on the side. "Sounds interesting. What does the master want to buy?"
"Speaking of which, I must thank you, Molofeel," Jesse said. "If you hadn’t reminded me about the smell of death on me, I might have overlooked my issue. The priest at the Cathedral of Light told me that I am under a deadly curse."
"Deadly?!" The blue flames in Molofeel’s eyes dimmed halfway.
She grabbed Jesse’s shoulder, leaned in to sniff, and asked, "What curse? I didn’t know about this?"
"Probably a death curse from a Death Knight, rare in the Twisting Nether," Jesse replied.
"Deadly, master is still alive, right? When will he die?" Saenor asked curiously.
Molofeel quickly grabbed the imp’s horn and said, "Whenever he dies, scum, I assure you that you will die before him. Aren’t you afraid of your previous master? Don’t worry, I won’t let your soul return to the Twisting Nether."
"Ouch… ouch! I’m sorry," the imp grabbed the succubus’s arm and begged, "It hurts… it hurts! Molofeel, how can I dispel the master’s curse even though I’m sad?"
"At least shut your rude mouth," Molofeel said as he slammed imp hard against the wall.
"So, Master, is there something in that port you’re headed to that can cure this curse?"
"It should be," Jesse replied. "I have reliable information that there is a medicine there that can fake death to deceive the deadly curse. I can only give it a try."
"Ha! Crafty mortal," imp crawled back onto the table. "Truly powerful demon curses like Archimonde’s Finger of Death cannot be tricked by such clever tactics! Have you heard of Archimonde’s Master of Death’s Finger?"
"Are you asking for trouble again?" Molofeel asked. "Is there room for deception in the Corruptor’s Finger of Death?"
"What I mean is, the Finger of Death can curse even the dead," imp explained. "Completely, without a trace of death, wiping you out from all forms of existence in all planes."
"Unfortunately, you may not get the satisfaction of seeing me die so cleanly," Jesse said. "The one who cursed me clearly isn’t as powerful as your ‘Archimonde Master,’ otherwise, do you think I would still be here?"
"I’m not hoping for your death, Master!" imp said. "I just want to see how much time we have left."
"In theory, I won’t die right away," Jesse explained. "I have some ways to delay it, but it can’t go on like this forever, or problems will arise sooner or later. It’s best to find a way to solve it completely as soon as possible."
"So when shall we leave?" Molofeel asked.
"I haven’t decided on a time yet. I’ll go to the dock in a bit to inquire, but it will definitely be within a week, Molofeel," Jesse said. "Let me go over the rules for going out with you all again."
He took out the scroll with the Gorefiend incantation written on it and glanced at it. "We can’t waste time on this journey. Honestly, I’ve taken life-threatening risks before, but this time the risk of death is not outside, it’s within myself. So, we must do what needs to be done. You all need to understand everything on this scroll."
"However, of course, when there’s no one around, like finding a hotel, or a cabin without others. If there are others present, or even if someone gets close… you all must hide, unless I call you out. I’m not certain about Booty Bay’s attitude towards warlocks, let alone demons."
"We’re quite used to this, master," Saenor said. "Is there anything new?"
"Keep an eye on my belongings," Jesse said. "If any thief dares to steal from me, whether it’s money or anything I’m carrying, if anyone dares to touch…"
"Molofeel, you’re quick to react. You’re in charge of this task. I don’t want to lose anything when we go to Booty Bay, especially this sword. Especially this sword. Do you understand?"
"We’ll follow your lead, master," Molofeel said.
Jesse drew out the Azuresong Mageblade, and the arcane glow radiating from the blade even caught Jesse’s eyes for a moment.
There were two beautiful sky-blue gemstones that were so captivating once you looked at them, it was hard to look away.
A mystical echo softly reverberated in the room, not just him, imp and succubus were also staring at the sword as if mesmerized.
"Of course, I will keep holding onto it."
Jesse said while thinking to himself, perhaps this is what they mean by Arcane being addictive.
He hadn’t felt such a strong attraction before, after all, he hadn’t had many chances to come into close contact with such powerful Arcane sources. He had gulped down the water from the Sunwell bottle so quickly, he hadn’t even had time to feel anything.
