Chapter 244: The Burning Black Blade
After the succubus turned invisible, Jesse looked at where the humanoid demon was standing before, now empty, feeling a bit scared of the supernatural abilities of these small demons.
But maybe it’s because these tiny demons have special hiding abilities that many warlocks choose them as servants, which is much more convenient than the giant servants like Demon Guard, Doomguard, and Hellfire.
Two thousand years ago, it was the countless medium-sized demons that could easily hide their tracks invading that made mages gradually powerless to resist, almost turning Dalaran into a terrifying city occupied by demons.
When walking through the streets, even at night, Jesse deliberately chose places that mages and priests rarely visit, like those hidden corners and alleys.
While shadowcasters are currently shunned by the public and investigated and expelled from magic institutions, demon summoners, and even demons themselves, are unforgivable, their treatment is worse than that of Necromancers.
He paid attention to the houses on both sides of the city, wondering if he should rent a larger room near the city gate for easier access out of the city.
Or should he rent a house in Goldshire specifically to accommodate the two demons there?
After safely arriving outside the city, Jesse walked for a long time to a dark forest far from the farms and city walls. He found a secluded slope and asked, "Are you still here?"
"Of course," the succubus appeared from a shadow and walked to a tree, saying, "I don’t think the people on the street are priests or mages, they lack magical power and cannot defeat me."
"Because I intentionally chose streets where we wouldn’t encounter those people, Molofeel," Jesse replied.
"Does my master care about my safety?"
"What matters more is my safety."
"You are definitely a thousand times more important than me."
"I remember my rule: no Charm Spells allowed."
"This is not a Charm Spell."
"Please reduce the frequency of your incantations." Jesse said, "If you live in Stormwind, I’m afraid you will be discovered sooner or later, you’re not like that imp…"
"Of course I’m not like it."
"Listen to me, it can fit in a bag, you…"
"I can stay invisible all the time, without losing anything."
"I want to be safer. How about I put you in Goldshire, which is a town over there in the southeast. Hardly any mages or priests go there to search for demons." Jesse pointed in the southeast direction.
"Can I refuse?" Molofeel asked coldly.
In fact, Jesse didn’t want to do this. Going back and forth such a long way, who knows how much time it would waste.
Plus, putting the demon in Goldshire, not being able to supervise at any time, even if the risk is lower, once a problem arises, it would be a big problem.
After thinking for a while, looking towards the southeast direction, Molofeel said, "I don’t believe anyone in this city can catch me. Even if they really detect my presence with powerful invisibility detection magic, I can quickly leave their detection range when they sense me, making them unsure of what they saw."
"Although I lost my wings, it doesn’t mean I lost my speed."
Jesse asked, "So, how fast are you?"
The succubus stared at Jesse, a small hand instantly took Jesse’s black sword from his waist, the muscles in her legs tightened and she leaped up, her black hooves stepping on a few small trees around in the air before landing back, the blade falling on his neck from behind, in the blink of an eye.
Is this an… assassin? Or a sky thief?
This made Jesse even more curious about the broken wing behind her.
"I feel fear, master, is it your fear?" the demon whispered in her ear.
"Of course it’s mine," Jesse said. "I have a sword at my neck, isn’t it normal to be nervous?"
"You still don’t trust me," Molofeel said disappointedly as he walked away.
"How can I trust you after only two days?" Jesse took the short sword handed to her by the succubus, glanced at the two moons overhead, and said, "Enough of this talk, it’s already late, so let’s make the most of our time. Molofeel, I’m curious about your fire resistance."
"Are you planning to burn me with fire magic?" Molofeel asked in surprise.
Jesse said, "Well, you’re a demon, a little fire shouldn’t be a problem for you. Do you know any Fire Protection spells or something similar?"
"I know a little," Molofeel said eagerly. "But why should I use it? Use your magic to torture me as much as you want, I won’t weaken your love for me by using any magic protection… never…"
"You’re a crazy devil, I give up," Jesse said helplessly.
Molofeel sat on the ground, licking his lips and squinting his eyes, saying, "I am a weirdo, I am the master’s toy… as long as the master…"
"Stop… I am starting."
After standing still, Jesse drank a bottle of Mana Potion and suddenly felt much clearer, the day’s boredom disappeared.
He glanced at the spell he copied, staring at the succubus wagging her tail and chanting a burning spell.
A fleeting sound of wind passed by, Molofeel calmly blew out a small flame on his hair, pretending to ask, "Is this the master’s fire magic?"
Jesse felt a surge of anger and said, "The point is not this… it’s Shadowfire flame! Damn it, you just wait."
He repeated it again, but the effect was not good.
Molofeel couldn’t help but laugh, saying, "I can’t bear to put out this little fire, after all, you worked so hard to create it, it’s too precious…"
Jesse regretted bringing this thing out to practice, but the help imp could provide in this aspect was really limited, he couldn’t withstand any damage, and this spell was not Demonic.
Feeling… feeling…
Without excitement or thrill, Jesse felt indifferent while practicing. After all, he had no expectations for his Arcane talent anymore and couldn’t ignite the power of shadows like he did in the study room.
"Is there any magic that can make me excited, or angry… do you know the Curse of Recklessness?"
"Curse of Recklessness?" Molofeel said seriously, "Curse of Recklessness can make humans lose control. Are you sure you want that effect?"
Lose control?
Seeing a dark and quiet forest, the last thing he wanted to hear now were the words "lose control."
"But if you want to get excited…" succubus licked her lips and took off her close-fitting armor. Jesse looked at the succubus’ almost smooth and red body under the moonlight and asked, "What are you going to do?"
Molofeel approached, barely clothed, and leaned on Jesse whispering, "I know what you want to do, master. You want to use your innermost feelings to guide the dark power. Many demons are good at doing this. If only you had told me earlier…"
"Actually, from the first night, my dear, I felt how intense and restless your power of shadows was, how eager it was for you to accept them… and yet, you are acting like a sadistic prison warden, allowing them to gaze at your tempting body, driving the cages formed by your willpower crazy, roaring in anger…"
Jesse hadn’t thought about how to react to those words yet, but Molofeel was already nuzzling him with her nose on his cheek. Jesse could feel her strong legs slowly wrapping around him.
At that moment, he only felt his head getting hotter and his heart beating faster.
The succubus whispered softly, "Don’t… control yourself, at least not now."
The surging Shadow Power rushed through his veins like a tide. Jesse grabbed the succubus’s chest and pushed her against a thick tree trunk, staring at her burning magical eye and muttered, "Kibimophrosas…"
Suddenly, her hair started burning with dark red flames, and Molofeel’s eyes began to glaze over.
"This is the feeling… Master… This is yours…"
Molofeel muttered tightly grabbing Jesse’s shoulders and back, as if on the verge of losing control. The deep red Shadow Flame flowed like blood, spreading from her shoulders, arms, chest, and abdomen, searing Jesse’s skin. Strangely, at that moment he felt no fear of the flames; instead, he was increasingly excited and thrilled by their heat.
Jesse looked at his skin; his arms were just turning red from the heat, with some slight burns on his hands. It looked somewhat scary, but right now, he didn’t feel any pain at all.
Was this a success? Igniting the Shadow Flame with the Scorch Curse…
Success was certain, but reproducing it in other situations seemed not so simple. However, he felt like he had found a hint with the help of the succubus.
Through repeated attempts, Molofeel, burning with Shadowflame, suddenly embraced him, burying his head on his shoulder with a muted groan, lightly biting his skin with sharp teeth.
She gasped lowly, as if enduring immense pain, and asked, "Master, do you want…right now, at this moment?"
"I have a magic class tomorrow, I need energy to cast spells," Jesse said.
"But you still have Mana Potion," the succubus reminded remorsefully.
"A reason that can’t be argued against."
Jesse squeezed the succubus’s neck, forcefully pressing her against the already blackened surface of a dead tree trunk, his whole body crashing against hers, the eerie forest resonating with the demon’s rapid breathing.
