Chapter 240: Promise
Greed went home, and Jesse, still a bit dizzy in the afternoon, woke up by taking a stroll in the marketplace in the trading area, spending six silver coins to bring home a baby lamb.
Returning home in the evening, Jesse saw the securely bound baby lamb. Imp clapped hands and said, "There you go, try it out…try it out…"
Jesse placed the lamb on the floor and said, "First, draw the sacrificial array, then I will review the Anti-summon Spell again."
"No!" Imp yelled, "No…if the master reads it that way, my time will be up in an instant."
Jesse realized he almost forgot that Imp was summoned by him. "What should I do now?"
The imp said, "I’ll hide first. When you successfully cast the spell, call me out. As long as you can’t see me and your focus isn’t on me, the anti-summon spell won’t affect me, right?"
Jesse replied, "I haven’t tried it before, how would I know?"
"It should be like this, it should be like this."
The imp awkwardly chuckled twice, while drawing a magic circle. After finishing, it quickly slipped into the bag.
Jesse held his magic wand, took out his spell book, silently recited the Anti-summon Spell a few times, cleared his throat, leaned against the window, and looked at the only empty space in the room. Seeing the exhausted lamb in the middle of the circle, panting heavily, his anxiety grew.
Hopefully, there won’t be any Hellfire showing up.
Thinking this, he glanced outside the window, feeling that if Hellfire were to come, it should be a green meteor falling from outside.
It shouldn’t be a Demon Guard either. He suspected that if a Demon Guard appeared in the room, just a slight movement could destroy all his furniture and personal belongings.
Besides, he wasn’t sure if he could control the opponent. Even if he used the Anti-summon Spell to instantly defeat the opponent, a huge demon corpse would be difficult to handle.
However, his strong curiosity made it impossible for him to hold back anymore, the strong demon, his magic could not successfully summon.
Let’s just summon it.
So, he stared at the lamb and softly chanted, "Yin Hajet, Tuliocksenoni, Tayantasi Nody, Binodusis."
After finishing the chant, nothing happened.
There was no void crack, no demon appearing before his eyes, nothing.
Is there a problem? But he did feel a strong force of the void opening up as he chanted, just nothing appeared before his eyes.
What’s going on? What kind of spell is this, a summoning spell, or maybe a buff added?
Just as he was doubting, Jesse noticed that the lamb had already died, he hadn’t even touched it, blood was seeping from the lamb’s eyes, nostrils, and mouth.
The sacrifice had been completed.
Oh no… Is a meteor really going to fall from the sky? Do you need a Hellfire stone to summon Hellfire?
Wait, what a sweet scent.
Jesse approached the window and glanced outside, suddenly feeling a chill on his neck.
A pair of slender arms wrapped around himself.
"Let me take a look at you…"
Jesse turned around and elbowed the monster behind him, causing it to scream and fall on the bed. As he turned back, he saw a red-faced female demon staring at him.
Horns protruded high above her head, even more exaggerated than a goat’s, with dark long hair scattered all over the bed. She seemed to shrink back as if startled.
This demon was about four to five feet tall, with a curvy figure. Some parts seemed overly protruding compared to the scary slender waist. Beneath the clearly defined muscular long legs, a pair of hooves covered in black fur tightly pressed down on the bedsheet.
This is actually a succubus! Is this the summoning spell for a succubus?!
Different from the image of a succubus in mind, she was not wearing a leather coat, but a tight-fitting dark green metallic Mageweave armor, of course, still quite revealing, only protecting important parts.
And most importantly, where are her wings?
Where did her wings go?
The wingless demon’s eyes shimmered with a faint blue light, looking at Jesse’s face, the slightly startled expression suddenly turned into a creepy smirk.
"How about a bit more effort, my new companion, just like earlier… Let me see how far you can go as a man…"
"Succubus," Jesse stiffly said.
"That name is really too stereotypical," the demon on the bed laughed, "Look at my wicked and terrifying face, what charm is there, honest people like you would immediately punch me upon seeing me, just like earlier… If it was a beautiful lady, like the one in your heart… that… pure… like a blue Magic Crystal…"
She squinted her eyes, stared at Jesse for a moment, and said, "Or shall I say, a nobleman?"
"Can you damn read minds?"
"Of course not," said the succubus. "It’s just that humans are too easy to read. Do you want to try hiding your thoughts from me, dear? You need more practice."
"First of all, try not to use bad words. Anger will give away your thoughts, and impatience will make you lose all disguise. Just now, your words implied that I guessed right. I can also guess that you have another woman in your mind, whether you love her, hate her, or feel conflicted, suspicious, concerned, or hopeful… she’s very important to you."
"Maybe what you guessed is slightly different, succubus," said Jesse. "But I’m sorry anyway, I shouldn’t have hit you… Wait, why am I apologizing? Are you trying to Charm me?"
The succubus laughed and asked, "So what’s wrong with being attracted to me? Are you afraid of falling in love with a demon?"
"I’m going to anti-summon!"
Jesse was about to chant the anti-summon spell, but the succubus remained unfazed, just watching as Jesse half-chanted the spell.
He stopped and asked, "Aren’t you afraid?"
"Afraid of what?" the succubus said. "The mortal world is a dull and sticky quagmire. Warlock, if you’re willing to send me away from here, I’ll thank you. After all, you’re just another coward who doesn’t keep promises, Eredar, Mo’arg, Nathrezim… I travel through the Twisting Nether because of all sorts of promises, and you’re just one among countless traitors. Go on, dear, take me to the next stop, let me continue my endless journey."
After saying that, the succubus smiled. Jesse noticed that her initially strange demon appearance actually became somewhat pleasing, her pinkish skin giving off a hint of desire like a Blood Elf in the game.
"What did I promise?" Jesse couldn’t help but ask.
"You summoned me, promising to fulfill my request," the succubus said, "You do know some Eredar spells, right?"
"What do you want then?"
"It’s simple… I want you."
"Do you want to kill me directly?" Jesse asked, "Or take away my soul? Turn me into some kind of beast like this creature?"
The succubus’s eyes glanced at the dead lamb on the floor, as there were sudden knocks on the door outside.
"Damn it!"
Jesse pressed against the door, looked back, and the succubus had disappeared!
The old lady neighbor outside said, "Mr. Seso… why is it so noisy again?"
Jesse opened the door a little and said, "I’m studying my lessons, ma’am, school starts tomorrow!"
"Shh, Mr. Seso…"
"I understand, ma’am."
Jesse closed the door and turned around, where is the succubus?
