Chapter 91: The Gem Hits the Face of the Blood Clan
This vampire was threatening her, demanding blood, which was quite a rare experience for Lin Lin.
After Damonis threatened Lin Lin, saying he would report her closeness with the Fallen Angel to the Demon King, Lin Lin stopped and carefully examined the young man imprisoned in the dungeon before her.
In fact, in the modern world where Lin Lin lives, vampires are quite popular fantasy creatures compared to other races. There are many books, movies, and TV shows about vampires, and even those who know little about Western fantasy understand that vampires drink human blood and fear sunlight.
In some stories, vampires also fear silver and garlic, and they are said to love pure women.
In some works aimed at women, authors portray vampires as pale and handsome young men, elegant and noble. Often, these characters, after sleeping for many years, fall in love with the female protagonist, attempting to drink her blood to turn her into their long-lived kind. At first, they may see her as merely food, but later, there is likely to be a deep and passionate love.
After gathering so much knowledge about vampires, when Lin Lin looked at the Blood Clan that was really in front of her, she showed a look of disappointment.
This feeling was somewhat like when a college friend raved about how handsome a certain boy was, and when Lin Lin saw him in person, she couldn’t help but react with a "Is this it?" expression.
It was indeed very impolite, but Lin Lin found it hard to control her expression.
Clearly, even though Damonis was a bit simple-minded, he started to recognize human expressions. When he realized that Lin Lin was looking at him with a teasing expression over the railing, Damonis felt a provoked anger.
The food was teasing him.
The young man’s fist slammed hard against the railing, making a loud noise that stirred up the surrounding dust.
The vampire was a bit taller than Lin Lin, and his fist came close to her forehead when he hit the railing. Lin Lin was not sure if he did it on purpose.
"Little blood bag," Damonis said, lowering his voice. At that moment, he started to show the brooding beauty that a member of the Blood Clan should have, "Are you feeling proud? Proud that I’m locked up here?"
Lin Lin instantly grasped the main point of the young man’s words.
Damonis thought Lin Lin was feeling proud of having locked him up. To put it more bluntly, the Demon King was the one who really carried out all these punishments, but he held no resentment towards the Demon King.
In other words, Damonis cared a lot about appearing weak in front of Lin Lin.
He cared about this shift in status.
The hunter was trapped in a cage, while the prey stood outside, watching him coldly.
Lin Lin couldn’t fully understand Damonis’s feelings, but that didn’t stop her from finding it very interesting.
It was quite a special experience.
Lin Lin took a small step to the right, and Damonis followed her, taking a few steps in the same direction. His ankle was secured with a special iron chain, and you could hear the sound of metal rubbing against the ground as he moved.
Then Lin Lin started to walk to the left.
Damonis frowned slightly; in the dim light, his dark red eyes focused intently on Lin Lin as he followed her steps.
The young man began to feel a bit impatient; he was like a hungry and restless gray wolf. If Damonis had a tail, it would probably droop down and sweep back and forth impatiently.
Hunger can make it hard to focus; Damonis quickly fixated on the woman’s neck, which was partly exposed at her collar.
Unlike most creatures here, Lin Lin had a neck that looked very delicate and tasty, with soft skin that had not been exercised and faintly trembling veins beneath her thin skin.
A young and healthy human woman.
Lin Lin smells very nice.
Unlike other races, what Damonis smells is not the sweet fragrance of a woman, but the warm, sweet scent of blood.
He can smell the warmth, even though Damonis has no experience drinking human blood, it does not stop him from imagining the pleasure of his fangs piercing the skin and the warm blood rushing into his mouth.
Under the light, the vampire’s throat swallowed uncontrollably.
When Damonis’s gaze fell on her neck, Lin Lin knew what he was thinking.
A strange feeling.
Like a rabbit meeting a lone wolf, and the wolf seems to be in complete control.
Although she knows that there really is such a special food chain in this world, Lin Lin herself does not accept such racial oppression.
She truly found her desire to provoke him in Damonis’s displeasure.
Lin Lin pulled out a magic wand from her lower back, a brown light-type magic wand, filled with energy. The Light Gemstone lit up the cell like sunlight, and the magic wand passed through the gaps in the bars, with the Light Gemstone at its tip almost touching the pale, thin chin of the vampire.
Like a white blade piercing through the darkness.
Damonis slightly turned his head, awkwardly avoiding the Light Gemstone, while his short black hair partially covered his dark red eyes.
The Light Gemstone naturally harms dark creatures, with a corrosive effect.
In the Demon King Castle, purer dark beings like the Demon King and Felix were even less willing to touch it. As Lin Lin guessed, the light-fearing Blood Clan likely hated this magical gemstone, grown from the light of the surface world.
She was right about the damage the Light Gemstone could do to the Blood Clan, but she did not guess what kind of stubborn young man was in front of her.
Even with the light-type magic wand pressed against his throat, Damonis did not back down; he hated to retreat. "Hey, you still say you’re not connected to that stone angel. Your power couldn’t possibly be a gift from him, could it? Now he has run away."
Very well, he was quite the stubborn fool. Even though Damonis knew that talking trash was pointless, he did it anyway.
This time, Lin Lin’s magic wand did not hold back, and the gem hit Damonis’s face directly, quickly turning his pale cheeks a bright red.
It felt like the pain of sunlight burning his skin, which was a torture that the Blood Clan could hardly bear.
Yet, Damonis did not move away. His well-groomed, long fingers tightly gripped the railing, and his whole body turned a flushed pink, not just his cheeks touched by the Light Gemstone, but also his neck, hands, and a little bit of his ankle.
His pale skin, filled with pain, showed warm colors, and he bit his lips tightly, letting out muffled sounds of pain.
Lin Lin tilted her head back to meet Damonis’s gaze.
Damonis continued to stare at her like a predator watching its prey, even as the sharp, clear gem of the light-type magic wand pricked his chin, his lips, and even shifted to his bright red eyes that sparkled with restlessness.
The young man did not back down.
The continuous pain made Damonis tremble; the Blood Clan does not sweat, yet his chest rose and fell heavily. The Blood Clan does not need to breathe; all he was doing was a natural reaction of his muscles.
As the Light Gemstone moved closer to Damonis’s shining eyes that sparkled like the gem, the young man slowly parted his lips.
Did he finally surrender? Lin Lin tilted her head and stood on her tiptoes to hear the faint sound coming from the young man’s lips.
"Hey…" The vampire raised an eyebrow and spoke in a hoarse voice, "You better kill me now; otherwise, I will definitely drink your blood."
Hmm? Does it have to be this serious?
Damonis’s words made Lin Lin’s magic wand pause; she pulled back the wand that was overflowing with light power.
Lin Lin calmly looked at him, "If it’s just a little bit of blood, you should be nicer when you talk to me; I might just give you some."
In a way, both are bloodsucking, but the Blood Clan is at least not like mosquitoes that leave you with an itchy bump you can’t help but press.
"Huh? Do you think I’m stupid? Am I supposed to believe your nonsense?" Damonis said angrily.
Lin Lin’s magic wand confidently jabbed back, hitting his nose.
The vampire, with his strong will, covered his nose and crouched down, blood seeping from the knuckles where he covered his nose.
Ah, oh no.
Lin Lin bent down, feeling very embarrassed, and handed over a handkerchief, "I didn’t mean to, I didn’t know it would hit your nose."
A woman’s fingers slipped through the railing, and Damonis quickly grabbed the handkerchief and held it to his nose, "What do you know! Every drop of my blood is very precious!"
Lin Lin nodded in agreement, "Indeed, otherwise you wouldn’t be so hungry."
Not understanding the sarcasm in Lin Lin’s tone, Damonis shot her another fierce glare to release his anger.
Damonis is an easily angered fool, and Lin Lin unashamedly labeled the vampire as not very bright.
He crouched down, carefully holding his blood to avoid wasting it, while Lin Lin leaned down and touched Damonis’s short hair, which was well-kept, just like his noble appearance as a member of the Blood Clan.
Lin Lin ruffled his hair.
The arrogant Blood Clan immediately looked up, glaring at her angrily, shouting about wanting to snap the fragile human’s neck.
Lin Lin looked down; now she was taller than Damonis. Her slender body blocked some of the light, and shadows were cast from her body, covering Damonis.
"Don’t be so angry," Lin Lin said with a smile. "I will give you some blood as a reward."
The young man she touched looked at her hesitantly, unable to believe such good fortune.
"In exchange, you must promise to be honest and say less nonsense," Lin Lin’s brown eyes widened like syrup.
The woman’s soft fingers brushed over a small spot of blood that was not cleaned properly from the Blood Clan’s lip jewel.
"For blood, you would do anything, right?"
–
"Can you do that for me again?" Dark Elf Felix asked after Lin Lin left the dungeon.
Lin Lin: ?
Felix, "You better be honest and keep quiet."
Are you not embarrassed when you change this sentence according to your own taste?
Although Lin Lin met Felix on the dungeon stairs and knew he must have heard her because of the Dark Elf’s sharp hearing, it was still very awkward to be acted out in front of her.
"No," Lin Lin refused Felix’s request, "I can’t do that strange thing. I am a human with principles."
Felix said, "I don’t want to stick the travel expense receipts this time. Just take the tickets and get reimbursed."
Lin Lin’s hand decisively slapped the Dark Elf’s face, making a crisp sound.
The movement of the hand was faster than the thought, it was a reflex.
Lin Lin and Felix looked at each other.
Felix covered the side of his face that was hit, "Thank you."
The Dark Elf thanked her for her generosity.
Lin Lin became angry, "You cannot use my instinctive reaction!"
The Dark Elf huffed twice, "What does it matter? We both got what we wanted, and I will take good care of the tickets."
Lin Lin ignored him and continued to walk forward, with Felix standing behind her.
"Don’t ignore me," Felix said as he followed Lin Lin, "I have news for you, and you will be too busy hating Your Majesty the Demon King."
Lin Lin suddenly stopped in her tracks.
The Dark Elf was certainly annoying, but Your Majesty the Demon King’s ability to cause pain was also quite amazing.
Fearing that any mistake could lead to an irreversible loss, Lin Lin turned to look at Felix.
"Tell me what you know," Lin Lin said in a cold voice.
The sudden sharp and serious expression on the woman’s face made Felix touch his bruised cheek again, and under such a gaze, he felt even happier.
Felix replied, "Wasn’t the statue of the Fallen Angel missing?"
Lin Lin saw that thing disappear; she just didn’t know how it was related to her.
"The Demon King should be busy figuring out how many statues in the Demon King Castle are alive," Lin Lin guessed based on her own thoughts.
But at the same time, she also knew that the Demon King’s thoughts were definitely different from hers.
Felix lifted the corner of his lips, and the Dark Elf showed a faint smile, "Your Majesty thinks that the center on the second floor is just right for placing your statue in the empty space."
Lin Lin: …Damn!
