Chapter 76: Exchanging Gifts Is Truly a Wonderful Experience
Since his birth, Felix knew that the Dark Elf is a very special branch among the elves.
Unlike most elves, who are respected or admired by other races, the Dark Elf is despised by many for worshiping the spider goddess.
At the same time, they deeply hate their white-skinned relatives.
Those proud white-skinned elves, who pretend to be indifferent, follow the ridiculous power of the forest or plants and see the Dark Elf as a shame among elves.
Felix was quite sure that Lin Lin had encountered a white-skinned elf during the last trip; he wasn’t sure if that elf had told Lin Lin about the Dark Elf’s bad deeds, after all, humans always prefer to trust the white-skinned elves.
Felix cursed the useless orca brothers in his heart; it was annoying enough that they were bothersome, but they couldn’t even do their simple tasks right.
As the moonlight fell, the Dark Elf felt very bad after discovering the earrings that the Moon Elf had given to Lin Lin.
Lin Lin was almost finished wrapping the bandage around Felix.
Felix glanced down at Lin Lin’s careful movements; he did not understand why she was being so gentle.
Of course, it wasn’t that he really "didn’t understand." After dealing with some humans, Felix knew that Lin Lin was worried he might be in pain, but her strength would not hurt him much at all.
Compared to being "gentle," the Dark Elf actually needed "pain"; they used it to prove they were alive and to feel loved.
Felix could not feel moved by Lin Lin’s careful wrapping; that wound would heal on its own in a few days, even if he left it alone.
After Lin Lin had wrapped his arm, Felix quickly pulled back the injured arm.
His movements were so casual and indifferent that Lin Lin looked at him with a worried frown again.
Felix only felt annoyed.
It’s just a small injury, why is she so troublesome?
"You should take your medicine first," Felix said, "The Dark Elf’s potion might have some side effects."
Sure enough, after Felix mentioned the possible side effects, Lin Lin immediately went to take the potion.
The potion took effect, and her long hair changed like magic, as the black color swallowed the platinum, finally becoming black, silky hair.
The black color lifted Felix’s bad mood a little, and he reached out to move the teacup on the table.
After Lin Lin finished the potion, she turned around immediately, not caring about how her appearance had recovered, and asked, "What did you do?"
Lin Lin questioned Felix, not understanding why he had made such a mess of himself.
This feeling was like when you have been nurturing a shiny black cat and one day it comes back limping, with a face full of wounds that say, "Mom, I’m back from my adventures."
"You know, I killed my own leader…" Felix leaned lazily against the back of the chair, his silver eyes showing a careless expression. "Some of my kind are scattered outside; they think I ruined their normal lives, so there are some little troubles."
Lin Lin was quite sure this couldn’t just be small troubles, "You should call some helpers."
Lin Lin admitted she was being a bit biased, but they were all Dark Elves anyway, and none of them were good people. A group of Dark Elves would cause even more trouble, so she might as well let Felix, whom she was familiar with, win.
It was unclear whether Lin Lin’s words or tone had touched Felix’s sensitive spot, but when Lin Lin made her suggestion, Felix quickly replied, "You don’t need to judge my situation!"
He spoke this line quickly and fiercely, which was different from his usual cold and sarcastic demeanor.
Lin Lin held back her anger to argue with him, staring at Felix for a few seconds until he awkwardly averted his gaze from her.
In the animal world, the weak often avoid eye contact, even if they growl and appear fierce.
Lin Lin stepped closer to Felix.
Felix sat there carelessly, and at that moment, Lin Lin felt a sense of superiority in height.
Lin Lin took a step closer to him, and then took another step closer.
Lin Lin noticed that Felix’s long legs, which were usually relaxed, were slightly tense. Because he was wearing leather pants, his muscles looked particularly defined when they were tight.
Lin Lin found herself in a situation that made her uncomfortable, but not so uncomfortable that she would jump out of the window behind her.
Well, even though Lin Lin was not used to it, her gender felt like a pressure to Felix.
"I am not judging you," Lin Lin vaguely sensed what made him angry, "I just worry about you."
"Ha," Felix scoffed, "That’s very touching, but you don’t need to worry about me because I am strong. You should focus on your pale elf, and watch out for me using a Dark Elf’s blade to cut his throat."
Lin Lin: …
Lin Lin processed Felix’s words spoken with a rising and falling tone. She touched the earring on her left ear, "Don’t you like this? Is this what makes you angry?"
After Lin Lin brushed her hair aside to fully reveal the earring to Felix, she noticed his pupils shrink slightly. She was quite sure he cared about it.
"This is an exchange gift from a Moon Elf. I think it looks nice, so I have been wearing it," said Lin Lin.
"Ah, exchanging gifts is indeed a wonderful experience. Why don’t you exchange engagement rings? I believe the Moon Elf must have an extraordinary appearance, and you will have a lovely evening," Felix said with a sharp glint in his eyes, while the Dark Elf sprayed venom to give Lin Lin advice.
Lin Lin subtly felt that the Dark Elf was indeed like what the books said, a race that sees desire as simply drinking water. Felix’s conversations often drifted in this direction.
"By the way, the magic wand you played with before, is the clear magic wand that Safir charged for you. It belongs to the elves, and I took it from a Wood Elf. Doesn’t it work well for you? Just don’t let the Moon Elf know I gave that to you; the pure and innocent white-skinned elves cannot hear about these things."
"But you probably don’t have much sympathy for the Wood Elf, right? After all, compared to the Moon Elf, the Wood Elf is not as fair and handsome."
"Let me guess, did the Moon Elf sing to you? Those fools just love to do that!"
Felix’s beautiful words seemed endless.
Seeing him get excited, Lin Lin quickly walked over to him, covering Felix’s moist, soft mouth with her right hand to prevent more elegant sentences from coming out.
As Felix struggled, Lin Lin lifted one leg and pressed her knee on his thigh to keep him still.
Felix’s legs were tense.
"I was just wearing it for fun," Lin Lin said as she took off the earring with one hand and casually threw it onto the big bed behind her. "If you don’t like it, I won’t wear it in front of you."
Felix tried to resist again.
Lin Lin pulled tightly on his silver ponytail, forcing him to look up.
She already knew that being a bit strict would work better when dealing with Dark Elves. Even though Lin Lin felt clumsy, it seemed to be very effective on Felix.
"Anyway, the Demon King gave me lots of jewelry, so I don’t mind this one or two."
After Lin Lin pinned down Felix’s movements, he looked like a cat being held by the scruff of its neck, completely still.
Lin Lin felt Felix’s breath on her palm, a cool touch that was different from a human’s.
Lin Lin looked down, forcing Felix to meet her gaze again, "Okay, now that the earring is gone, can you calm down?"
The Dark Elf’s long silver eyelashes fluttered, and finally, he quickly blinked twice to show he agreed.
Lin Lin’s knee nudged his thigh again, and she noticed the elf’s whole body was slightly trembling; he was used to this pressure from being commanded, yet he was unhappy about having this trait.
Felix’s forehead began to sweat, dampening a little bit of the tiny hair at his temples, the fine silver strands curled tightly against his forehead.
The chest of his black tank top was also soaked with sweat.
Elves find it hard to sweat, and Felix had not been pressured like this for a long time, so his reaction was particularly strong.
The two stared quietly at each other for more than ten seconds; Lin Lin confirmed that the anger in Felix’s eyes had faded, and she let go of his mouth.
"The hatred between elves is truly frightening," Lin Lin said slowly as she pulled her legs back.
Felix remained quiet.
He calmed down a little, then his gaze darted towards Lin Lin’s ears and the earrings tossed on the large bed.
"You don’t have to take that off," Felix said. "Women shouldn’t change their behavior because of others."
You don’t have to pretend to be generous now," Lin Lin thought. "Once she puts on that earring, Felix will be upset again.
"Well," Lin Lin said honestly, "I can understand a little bit of how you feel. If my good friend wore something that someone I didn’t like gave her, I would feel uncomfortable too."
But I wouldn’t go crazy, Lin Lin added in her mind.
Felix was quiet for a while again.
The Dark Elf looked up and confirmed one thing with Lin Lin, "So I am more important."
Felix thought he should be more important than that pesky little bug sprite that came out of nowhere.
Lin Lin nodded quickly in agreement.
Felix smiled, as if he had won a battle.
The Dark Elf’s tense feelings relaxed again. He gently curled his long leg back, brushing against the small calf that peeked out from under Lin Lin’s nightgown, bringing her closer to him.
"I don’t believe it," Felix said, "Women are like that; they say one man is better in front of him, but then secretly meet with another man."
Lin Lin replied, "That may be true for female Dark Elves, but not necessarily for other races… Oh, I mean there are some like that, and some who are not."
But clearly, Felix was no longer interested in discussing this matter with her.
"Since you prefer me, you should like my gift more than that of the white-skinned elves," Felix said.
Lin Lin was a bit surprised.
He was the first among these few men to give her a gift.
Lin Lin watched as Felix pulled out a delicate silver hairpin from his small bag behind him. The silver hairpin looked even more exquisite in his dark wooden hands.
Lin Lin was momentarily stunned.
"Don’t worry," Felix obviously misunderstood Lin Lin’s daze, "this is not a classic Dark Elf style, so no one will know it’s from the Dark Elf. Oh, but if it were a white-skinned elf with a dog nose, that might be different."
The sensitivity between you two should not be called big brother and second brother.
Lin Lin shook her head and reached out to take the gift from Felix, "I wasn’t worried about others knowing I dealt with the Dark Elf, I just think it’s beautiful."
Felix quietly gazed into Lin Lin’s deep brown eyes.
He spoke softly, "It’s better if no one knows."
