Chapter 168: You Will Not Take Me Now
Hello, I think I may have found the source that led to the downfall of Demon King Castle, but I cannot confront this source.
Lin Lin watched helplessly as the gold coins in the treasury disappeared, unable to stop it, and the noble Sapphire Dragon didn’t spare even a glance for more, taking the money and leaving.
Even though there is a waterfall of gold in the treasury, it cannot withstand Safir’s gold shovel used again and again.
Actually, the Dragon race factor is not very advantageous; Safir loves sapphire very much, but the instincts of the Dragon race will make him prefer gold, which does not hold much value as a single item.
Unlike Dark Elf Felix, this guy has no sense of beauty when he takes things from the treasury; his eyes seem to measure the value of each item, very practical in taking whatever is expensive.
Compared to those ordinary people, surprisingly, Bulwo, who looked the most ordinary, had little interest in money.
Bulwo thought the pile of gold coins overflowing from the treasure vault was just too troublesome to clean up.
In a way, the later spending habits of the orca brothers, who spent money like dirt and had meals where they didn’t know where their next one would come from, couldn’t be said to be without Bulwo’s influence.
Bulwo transformed back into the shape of an orca, and this creature was indeed much larger than the orca brothers that Lin Lin had seen before.
Even without seawater, the orca floated in the air as if the air was water, and then, with a swift flick of its tail, Bulwo swept the gold coins outside back in.
Lin Lin suddenly understood why fishermen let fish run; the fish’s tail had such great strength.
Watching one or two gold coins roll to the ground with cracks because of his power, Lin Lin truly witnessed someone who saw money as worthless.
Until the majority of the gold coins were finally pushed back into the vault, Lin Lin, under Bulwo’s direction, inserted the key into the doorpost and closed the treasure vault’s door.
After the door closed again, Lin Lin breathed a sigh of relief as the huge orca floating in the air lazily flicked its tail.
Lin Lin walked beside him and reached out to touch his… head?
It should be the head area, right? For Lin Lin, the front of the fin is also considered the head.
Such a big head! One reason orcas are very smart in the ocean is because they have huge brains.
Bulwo really enjoyed Lin Lin coming close to touch him. He closed his eyes and rubbed against Lin Lin.
Unlike cats and dogs, the large orca’s approach pushed Lin Lin back, making him take two steps back.
"Your head is too small," Bulwo realized he almost knocked Lin Lin over. He transformed back into a suit-clad man and looked at Lin Lin again. "You don’t seem tall and impressive, not like a Demon King."
"Great, you finally noticed I’m not tall and impressive," Lin Lin intended to speak in a normal tone, but he couldn’t help but sound a bit sarcastic.
Bulwo’s attention was completely off Lin Lin’s tone. He came to a new conclusion, "You should be given some guards; you look like you could easily get hurt."
"Your words are a little offensive," Lin Lin spoke plainly.
"It doesn’t matter," Bulwo said more straightforwardly than Lin Lin, "after all, the one who taught you to be the Demon King is Safir, not me."
After Bulwo said this, Lin Lin immediately felt it would be better to win him over, "Why can’t you teach me? Safir looks like he would turn me to ashes if I don’t meet his expectations."
"It’s not ‘looks like,’" Bulwo honestly replied, "his patience isn’t very good; he really will breathe fire on you."
It seems Bulwo has been burned by dragon fire before.
Lin Lin looked at Bulwo earnestly, "Can you be my teacher then?"
Bulwo said, "No, I have less patience."
Bulwo firmly refused Lin Lin; although he liked humans very much, he was clearer about work matters.
If you don’t take me now, you will have two little ones in the future.
Lin Lin looked sorrowful.
–
Safir was very unsuitable to be a teacher. Even though Lin Lin had known this for a long time, when she witnessed it herself, it brought her a lot of tears.
He was very strong-willed.
Lin Lin began copying the book, reciting those pages she was not interested in at all.
Safir, on the other hand, sat in the same room, reading books that interested him.
The room was quiet, only the sound of copying and the turning of pages could be heard.
After a few pages, Lin Lin’s hands felt numb, and then she looked up to secretly glance at Safir, who was not far from her.
Under the light, Sapphire Dragon slightly lowered his head, with his eyelashes downcast. Unlike most of the officials in Demon King Castle, he sat very upright.
Regardless of his race, Safir fit the image of an old noble young master that Lin Lin had imagined very well. Handsome and dignified, he often had a relaxed demeanor as if everything was under control.
There was also a clear display of arrogance.
He did not plan to hide this arrogance, which is also a kind of arrogance.
Lin Lin had to admit that Safir was indeed patient. For example, right now, she was secretly watching Safir, but she knew very well that even though Safir appeared to be reading, the keen Dragon race was aware that she was looking at him.
This obvious spying lasted for a few minutes before the Sapphire Dragon slowly lowered the book in his hands and looked at Lin Lin, saying, "What’s wrong?"
Lin Lin stared into his eyes.
Safir’s sapphire eyes were now brighter and more vivid, and his single earring swayed gently. He looked a bit younger, but that quiet and deep feeling made him still seem steady and reliable.
I don’t want to copy the book anymore, Lin Lin thought.
But she couldn’t say it directly. Before her mind finished racing, her mouth came up with an excuse, "I’m thirsty and want to take a break."
Lin Lin’s break meant going downstairs to make a pot of hot tea. If she brought some for Safir, it might ease the teacher’s sternness.
But, Safir is the teacher of His Majesty the Little Lamb.
Lin Lin should have thought of it earlier; the Sapphire Dragon had the ability to take care of itself even before having lizard servants.
The young man snapped his fingers, and a blue and white porcelain teapot appeared before Lin Lin, pouring her a cup of hot tea.
The cup emitted a gentle steam, at the perfect temperature, not too hot or too cold to drink. Lin Lin took a sip and noticed a slight bitter taste.
This is nice; the tea clears the mind. Lin Lin decided to pretend to drink for at least ten minutes.
As Lin Lin sipped her hot tea, a cold breeze blew in through the open window, and a few dark spots fell on the balcony. Suddenly, Lin Lin realized it was raining.
Even in eternal night, it can rain.
The rain gradually grew heavier, and the raindrops fell faster, but due to the angle of the wind, the rain couldn’t get into the room.
The temperature is about to drop again, Lin Lin thought sadly.
Although Safir bought her some bedding, the mattress and blankets were very thin, likely because being from the Dragon race meant they were not used to the cold, so they were barely enough.
It has started to rain now, and it will be even colder.
Lin Lin glanced at Safir again, and after her thirst, she had a new request.
The Sapphire Dragon put the book down once more and calmly looked at Lin Lin, "Is there any other problem?"
He probably thinks she is a bother, Lin Lin thought.
Lin Lin had heard from the Demon King that he thought the bed was too hard and had mentioned it to Safir, but he was ruthlessly turned down and teased for being too delicate.
"My bed is too thin and a little cold," Lin Lin said.
She was also going to be teased for being delicate, and Lin Lin quietly awaited that moment.
The Sapphire Dragon stared at her for a few seconds, as if processing the meaning of her words.
"I really didn’t expect this," Safir said, his voice deep and gentle, "It’s nice that you take care of yourself."
Huh?
This is the first time Lin Lin has received praise for knowing what is good for her.
