Chapter 124: The Shy Feeling Disappeared

Being gazed at with a smile by a beautiful person is truly a test of character.

Especially after the other person saw Lin Lin’s face getting redder, they couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh. The sound was very light, carrying a naturally ambiguous charm.

Lin Lin couldn’t help but lower her head.

Norman shook his head; he stepped forward to block the person’s view and said softly, "Vivian, please don’t do that."

The teacher called Vivian by Norman shrugged and stepped into the wooden house. "Come in."

Once inside the wooden house, Lin Lin shivered from the cold; there were no heating measures in the house, and it felt colder inside than outside. She even thought about how warm it was under the outside sun.

The light inside the house is not very good; it feels a bit dark and damp.

There are many things inside the house, and what was once a spacious room is now filled with a pile of scattered items. Most of them look old and worn.

On the white walls hang oil paintings in golden frames; the designs look very abstract, mostly made of cool-colored patches.

Several dark brown wooden cabinets hold colorful ceramic cups and a set of dishes. One cabinet is used for displaying jewelry made of gems and pearls, as well as a feather fan. The owner of the house seems to be a collector.

In sharp contrast to Lin Lin’s fear of the cold, the beauty in the pearl-white dress sits gracefully in a chair, casually picking up a white jade fan. After waving it a few times in the air, she points the fan at Red Dragon, whose hands are locked in handcuffs.

The handcuffs fall off with a sound, as the part that holds them has obviously been broken.

Vivian nodded toward Red Dragon, "You know the way by now; go ahead."

He certainly didn’t show the kid any mercy, and Lin Lin looked at him with sympathy.

Red Dragon, under Lin Lin’s gaze, lowered his head, and every step he took felt particularly heavy.

As the boy walked, he transformed back into a dragon shape. His human form was already incomplete, with horns and wings on his back, and now he had returned to being the panda-sized Red Dragon.

In the living room, there was a translucent water tank. At first, Lin Lin thought it was a giant fish tank, but there were no fish inside. Now she understood what it was for.

The Red Dragon skillfully flipped into the water tank, and the tank made the sound of ice cubes clinking together.

It was not a water tank, but a box filled with ice cubes.

The moment the Red Dragon jumped into the box, steam rose up from the opening.

The Red Dragon made its nest in dry, hot places, as cold and damp environments were what they disliked the most. This little Red Dragon sat quietly with its legs drawn up in the water tank, causing a few ice cubes to spill out.

Lin Lin confirmed once again that the front legs of the Dragon race were really short, and it was quite a struggle for the Red Dragon to hug its legs.

Lin Lin’s filter over the beauty began to fade away, as now it looked rather scary.

After dealing with the Red Dragon, Vivian’s gentle smile remained unchanged, with a subtle look of tipsiness in his eyes.

"Are they the guests you mentioned?" Vivian asked softly.

Lin Lin really wanted to say no.

Norman nodded and pulled Lin Lin beside him, showing Vivian the collar around Lin Lin’s neck, "It’s this. I remember your family used to deal with angels."

"Indeed," Vivian looked at the collar on Lin Lin’s neck, "though it’s not a happy memory, if you want to find magic related to angels, coming to me is definitely a smart choice."

Hmm? Could it be that Vivian’s family was also punished by angels? Lin Lin looked up.

As if he already knew she would be drawn to the topic, Vivian was smiling at her. After their eyes met, he said, "After all, the people from the temple don’t think about how to break angel spells."

Vivian had a light teasing tone towards the temple, and Lin Lin couldn’t tell if this teasing was genuine mockery or just his usual careless playfulness.

Since she was closer to Vivian and he was sitting down, Lin Lin noticed something she hadn’t thought about before… Vivian’s chest was quite flat.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with a flat chest, and Lin Lin wouldn’t judge someone’s charm based on the size of their chest, but she used to be someone who was good at browsing the internet.

Thanks to technology, people’s knowledge has grown many times over. Lin Lin has also seen many different kinds of people online.

For example, some men like to wear women’s clothing. Many of them look very much like real women.

When Lin Lin noticed Vivian’s flat chest, her low voice became proof. Lin Lin’s eyes focused on his lower abdomen before her mind could catch up.

Hmm… very flat, as flat as a chest.

Lin Lin’s mind started to feel overwhelmed, and the few brain cells she had began to quickly disappear.

Why! Why does it seem like none of the options are right!

What is happening here!

"Is there a problem?" The person Lin Lin was looking at smiled charmingly. Vivian reached out to touch Lin Lin’s cheek, making her look up and meet his gaze. "Are you confused?"

Vivian’s fingers were cold and his skin was too delicate, like a piece of white jade touching her face.

Perhaps it was because Lin Lin’s cheeks were too warm that Vivian’s knuckles brushed against her chin.

"Um," Lin Lin was always a simple and sincere person, and she was very bold in asking questions, "May I ask, teacher, are you a man or a woman?"

Vivian, supporting her cheek, blinked his eyes, and the folding fan covered half of his charming face, "What an interesting question…"

Before Vivian’s soft laughter had finished, someone answered the question for him.

Norman, "A man."

The gray-purple eyes behind the white jade fan glared at the Knight Commander.

Norman pulled Lin Lin back half a step to keep her away from Vivian, "You should be careful of his closeness; although Vivian wouldn’t do anything extreme at school, he is a mermaid. You know, right? Humans are on a mermaid’s menu."

Lin Lin paused for a moment, "He looks very much like a human."

Vivian’s folding fan hid his face, then he opened it again to reveal it.

Lin Lin noticed the delicate light purple fan-shaped scales at the corner of his eye, which reflected a faint silvery hue.

They were fish scales.

Just to show Lin Lin, after the folding fan covered his face again, Vivian revealed his handsome human features, "I am more used to looking like this."

Lin Lin: …the feeling of shyness disappeared.

Lin Lin, a devoted human enthusiast, looked at him with the same gaze one might give a dead fish when she learned that beneath his exquisite face lay the body of a mermaid.

Even though Lin Lin now seemed to be just getting by, in modern society, she needed to shift her focus due to her tiring job, so she kept pets. She had goldfish.

Following the secret of often changing the water and the fish, Lin Lin had at least seven or eight fish in her hands that had experienced life and death.

When Vivian had previously locked eyes with Lin Lin, she would blush; now, Lin Lin was as numb as a piece of wood.

Noticing the change in Lin Lin’s expression, Vivian playfully scratched her face with his finger, but Lin Lin remained resolute.

Vivian’s fingers tilted slightly, stroking along Lin Lin’s jaw to her neck, pausing at the collar.

"I can give it a try," Vivian said, feeling the magical waves from the collar, "I don’t sense any malice from this collar. In fact, it seems helpful; it can help her dispel the darkness and keep her safe. If it looks a little unattractive, I can help enhance its appearance."

It’s not a matter of appearance at all.

"I don’t need a collar," Lin Lin replied, "I need to regain my original strength."

"Oh? You’re quite confident," Vivian said, with a twinkle in his eye. His mole at the corner of his mouth wasn’t very dark, but when he smiled, that little mole always drew attention, "I like confident humans."

Ever since she learned that she was on Vivian’s menu, Lin Lin felt that there was no human in the world that Vivian didn’t like.

"One more thing," Norman cleared his throat gently, perhaps feeling a bit guilty, so his voice was a little weak, "I’ve been writing a report about this trip, and during this time, these two kids will need your care."

Vivian smiled, "No problem at all."

Lin Lin looked at Norman and noticed that his bright blue eyes weren’t looking at her.

Lin Lin suddenly had a bad feeling.

The Knight Commander said, "I think if it’s convenient, they can join some basic classes to learn about spells."

Class! It’s class!!!

Lin Lin had the expression of a little child being left at kindergarten by their parents.

As the Knight Commander waved and slowly backed away from the cabin, he said, "This is for your own good. Work hard and study!"

Lin Lin looked at Caligo with a pleading expression.

The red-haired boy looked very calm, "It’s good, not wasting time."

Lin Lin: Damn overachiever!
