Chapter 100: She Is Ordering Me

"What are you going to do?"

Lin Lin opened her arms and stood in front of Caligo, blocking the man’s view who had pure white wings.

Lin Lin felt a little nervous; the man in front of her was very tall, and he had just sliced open a level 40 sandworm!

What terrible power and what shocking disregard for appearance!

The air was filled with a strong, sour smell from the sandworm’s internal corrosive liquid, and the dust was swirling, making Lin Lin’s throat a bit dry and hoarse.

She was already thirsty from not drinking water for a long time, and now her throat was even itchier.

After Lin Lin spoke, the man standing opposite her slightly raised his eyes.

A very pure light gold color, and the man’s eyelashes were also a light shade. It seemed that only after Lin Lin opened her mouth did he focus his attention on her.

Before that, his gaze was filled only with the chaotic, polluted sand worms and the dark aura oozing from Caligo’s wounds.

Lin Lin felt he looked a bit… fierce.

Although the man had pure white wings, his expression was extremely gentle.

And he was so tall! The members of Demon King Castle were all tall, but the only one who could match the height of this man was Safir, who was part dragon; even the Demon King was slightly shorter than him.

The man’s height made Lin Lin and the red-haired boy she was protecting look like two trembling little quails.

Lin Lin hoped this seemingly cold man would leave because of their dullness; after all, compared to the sand worms, they were quite fragile and couldn’t give him any sense of achievement.

To Lin Lin’s surprise, the man briefly glanced at her but did not linger; it was as if he could not hear what Lin Lin had just said. He avoided her and reached out to Caligo, who was still sitting on the ground and could not get up for now.

The man silently recited a spell, and a blade made of white light appeared in his palm, looking like a short knife.

Caligo widened his eyes, staring at the man, showing a calm acceptance, no longer struggling.

Lin Lin reached out and grabbed the man’s arm, trying to pull her arm back, but her efforts clearly failed.

Lin Lin was pulled forward by the man’s iron-like arm.

Because the man’s arm was bare, Lin Lin easily felt the warmth of his skin, which was even hotter than hers.

Is he a robot? Lin Lin frowned.

The man seemed like the kind of cold, hard robot that only follows a specific command to kill Caligo without caring about a reason!

Unlike Lin Lin’s anxiety, Caligo looked very calm; he even had the mood to speak to Lin Lin.

"He is an angel," Caligo said.

After the boy said this, Lin Lin was momentarily stunned, then immediately looked at the man’s handsome profile.

She didn’t recognize him! She completely did not recognize him!

In fact, Lin Lin did see the distinctive white wings, but because of the man’s terrifying actions and cold expression, she had not thought of him as an angel at all!

She thought he was a cruel bird like a bald eagle or an Orc!

In Lin Lin’s mind, angels should be kind and loving towards humans, like a cool moonlight figure.

If she had to compare, the Fallen Angels in the Demon King Castle looked more like angels than he did!

While Lin Lin was dazed, the white light in the angel’s hand moved closer to Caligo’s heart by an inch.

Caligo lifted his eyes, and his differently colored pupils looked at the angel.

"I used to think that angels were just a legend, and that the gods did not care about the world, so how could they send a messenger," Caligo said calmly, "but now it seems that angels can also kill those who make deals with demons."

Lin Lin suddenly realized what Caligo was about to say.

She was not sure if this angel could understand the common language, and she looked at Caligo with a stiff expression, signaling him to stop talking.

But Caligo did not pay attention to Lin Lin’s hint; although his expression was calm, his rising chest revealed his anger.

The red-haired boy ripped open the innermost shirt, exposing the red thorns attached to his chest, down from his collarbone.

The thorny pattern that wrapped around his heart looked even more bright and vivid; it was consuming the young mage’s life.

"Since you really exist, I want to know," Caligo asked angrily, "where were you when pollution fell upon the people?"

Lin Lin followed up with the question, "Where were you!"

Although she was not very strong in her questioning, she expressed her support for Caligo with her words!

Lin Lin stared at the angel’s expression, trying once more to shield Caligo behind her in this now cramped space.

The man did not give any answer.

In fact, he had always acted rather quiet and indifferent; not just to Lin Lin’s questions, and not only to Caligo’s inquiries, it seemed that no words could move him.

It was clear that the angel did not want to hurt Lin Lin, but when she got in his way, the man still turned his gaze, landing on the woman’s pale, fragile face.

The weak protect the weak.

This should be a virtue praised by the God of Light, if human women did not apply this trait at this moment.

Yes, the angel saw that Lin Lin was human, not the half-human appearance she showed now.

Unlike most beings who observe each other based on appearance, angels can always see the essence more directly.

These are two humans.

The angel Lenidien did not know why these two humans appeared in the dangerous Old Demon Realm, but it was clear that the male among them was deeply tainted.

He was like an infectious source ready to explode at any moment, and Lenidien easily saw that he had struggled many times between life and death.

The angel made the best choice for the human.

The woman was still trying to stop him.

A weak and feeble attempt to block him.

Lenidien was not angry because of her interference, but he also did not intend to comfort her; he did not communicate much with humans.

Among angels, there is a type of angel that listens to human prayers, answers their questions, or offers blessings. They are better at communicating well with humans, and Lenidien clearly did not belong to this group.

He existed as the sword of the God of Light, and his command was to eliminate all darkness that could be removed, including humans who already posed a threat.

And in front of him, at least at this moment, Lenidien did not see signs of her being tainted by darkness.

And she is a light-type mage.

This made Lenidien naturally feel a slight fondness for the seemingly delicate woman, but the angel was very confused about how a light-type mage could walk with a Dark Mage.

He did not want to waste too much time on these two humans; Lenidien had other areas to clear.

The blade of light in his hand was sharper, and he also saw that the light-type mage held her magic wand tightly.

Lenidien did not divide his attention on her; as a creature created by the God of Light, he certainly knew how clumsy Lin Lin was in using light powers.

Just a moment ago, she was able to hinder the sandworm, which had already exhausted her abilities, and she was in a state of complete fatigue.

Lenidien even thought that she would be unable to leave this area by herself; she would be devoured by the frenzied monsters.

But what did that have to do with him?

The blade of light pressed against the stiff body of the red-haired boy.

"Soul trembling!" A woman’s firm voice appeared in his ear.

A bright white light pierced into his golden eyes, the angel’s head tilted slightly, and compared to the calmness before, the man seemed taken aback.

Lin Lin, who had just used a light spell, trembled with exhaustion as her body weakened from magical energy depletion; she held her breath and kept her eyes on him, watching his reaction.

Lenidien looked again at the human woman he had overlooked.

He reached out his hand and touched the side of her face, the sticky golden blood of the angel staining his fingertips.

Her light golden eyes blinked once, then twice.

Lenidien realized he had been hurt by the power of light.

The human woman didn’t even praise the God of Light while casting her spell.

–

Very well, she should not laugh at the vampire; now it is her who is trapped in the cage.

And it is a luxurious dungeon; in this cage, she can even see all sorts of monsters outside.

The monsters seem to sense danger and do not approach the cage, they only pass by.

Lin Lin was able to see many strange-looking creatures, and she knew that the angels who could subdue them were not easy to deal with.

Unconscious Caligo was placed by Lin Lin on a soft patch of ground in the cage, while Lin Lin leaned against the bars, hoping a kind person would come to save them.

Both of their necks were fitted with a pale yellow ring to limit their abilities, but their backpacks were not taken away.

Perhaps in the angels’ eyes, the true threat is magic, and the things on those objects are all illusions.

After Caligo had been unconscious for a while, Lin Lin opened some supposedly nutritious sandworm eggs for him to drink.

But his body still looked very bad.

The ring around his neck limited the demon’s power to restore his body.

Lin Lin waited anxiously for a long time before the angel came again.

He still looked clean.

After returning, he dealt with the monsters around the cage and then looked at the human woman standing by the railing.

Lenidien didn’t know how to handle them for now.

One was a time bomb that was a source of pollution, and the other could use the power of light to harm the gods; both were quite troublesome.

In the past, Lenidien did not have to deal with such complicated problems.

But luckily, he already had a plan in his heart; he just needed to clean up this place first before he could take the time to handle them.

The woman in the cage waved at him.

Lenidien walked up to the cage, and once again he remembered the feeling of being hurt on his face by the warm power.

The strength that had given him life crashed into him, and this feeling was not pleasant.

At that moment, a human woman’s hand reached through the bars and grabbed his wrist.

It was the second time that woman touched him.

The warm human body heat came from her soft palm, and she did not seem to think that touching an angel was disrespectful.

"Water!" Lin Lin said. She felt that this angel might not understand complicated human words, so she tried to keep her words simple and clear.

"Food, and medicine!" Lin Lin said.

She is ordering me, Lenidien thought.

The God of Light would never command an angel, because angels have their own judgment; they handle problems in their own way.

Angels do not command each other; they even talk to each other less.

Angels talk to humans more than they talk to each other.

"Water!" Lin Lin repeated once more.

Even though she should not think this way.

Lenidien found the human in front of him a bit annoying.

But he had to go find some water.
