Chapter 75: The Dragon Tail Can Change Size?
“Wuwuwu, please Iris, I’m really desperate…”
Naya was almost about cry.
It was a dark and windy night. How could she dare to go alone without Iris by her side? Besides, she didn’t even know the way. Only Iris knew the way to Naya’s room like the back of her hand, while Naya herself had barely been there a few times. The winding, dark corridors and the damp passageways scared her just thinking about them.
Iris stifled a laugh and continued to ignore Naya.
“How desperate are you?”
“Stop teasing me, Iris, if you keep this up, I’ll really get mad.”
Naya clung to Iris’s arm like she was sinking deep into a hidden valley, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
“…”
In the end, Iris couldn’t bear to see Naya on the verge of breaking down, so she gave in.
She lifted Naya and took her where she needed to go.
After the matter was settled, and after a midnight snack, Naya was full, back in bed, and tucked under the covers, ready to sleep. Iris half-sat behind Naya, gazing down at her.
“Naya, I want to try something…”
“Try what?”
“My tail.”
“Are you out of your mind, Iris? Your tail is thicker than my thigh—it could kill someone!”
“I can control the size.”
“…That’s still terrifying, hard as a rock. It wouldn’t feel good at all.”
Naya shrank deeper into the covers.
“No, thanks.”
“Then next time, I won’t take you with me.”
“Hmph!” Naya pouted.
Anyway, she was satisfied and full this time.
Next time, she’d just act cute again, and Iris would obediently lift her to paradise with her hands.
“Goodnight, Iris.”
“You’re such a little temptress.”
Iris sighed helplessly.
She lay down behind Naya, gently hugged her back, and pressed her legs around Naya’s soft tail.
Actually, her tail could also become as soft as that.
Oh well. Next time, she would make sure Naya experienced the feeling of wanting but not being able to get satisfaction.
It was another beautiful day. Naya stretched lazily on the bed, turning her head to gaze at the golden curtains. The sunlight streaming through the gaps was still gentle.
It was probably not yet time for Illya to wake up.
But Iris was already no longer beside her.
On the nightstand was a purple magic stone. Naya picked it up, and, as usual, it played Iris’s voice.
“Good morning, my dear Naya. I got up early to take care of some official business. Around ten o’clock, bring Illya and Bella to the palace’s front hall. I’ll make those dragon cubs bow and apologize to Illya in front of all the dragons in the palace. Love, Iris.”
“Alright ~”
Naya kissed the magic stone and quickly got out of bed. She could still catch Illya’s waking time.
Illya usually woke up around nine o’clock. Judging by the brightness outside, it was probably around 8:30.
Naya lifted the blanket, looked down at her own chest, and noticed a few cherry blossom petals on top of the two snow-white peaks. They still felt a bit sore. So does her waist.
“Good thing I became part of the dragon race. Otherwise, with such frequency, I wouldn’t be able to handle it.”
She picked up her nightgown from the floor and walked to the wardrobe to find something to wear.
Thinking back to last night, Naya couldn’t imagine how frustrated she would be if Iris kept teasing her without letting her feel satisfied. She was already beginning to sense a looming crisis—was Iris planning to stop being the one in charge?
Last night might have just been a test—to see if Naya could take the lead, giving her enough time to counterattack Iris.
[System, is there any way to make Iris always the one on top?]
[Do you know what you’re saying?!]
[Wh-What’s wrong? Why are you shouting?]
The System’s voice in her consciousness could adjust in volume to help the host understand its emotions. For obedient hosts, the system used a cold, mechanical tone. But Naya was different. If the System didn’t speak more humanely to her, she would drive it crazy.
[Where’s your pride as a man? You used to want to be the dominant one, and now you don’t even want to one?]
[I think lying down is pretty good. No need to move, and it feels nice. Now I understand why I never took the lead all these years. The me who lost my memory didn’t care about whether I was once a man—I just did what felt good. Wanting to be dominant now is just causing myself unnecessary trouble.]
[You’ve fallen, host. You’ve completely fallen into the feminine trap…]
[Uh… so, is there a way or not?]
[No, now get lost!]
[Hey! System, do you have to be so mad?]
[I’m furious! I was rooting for you to be the dominant one, a Queen’s consort—just thinking about it is exciting… But if you keep going like this, the heart of a Hero within you will fade completely!]
[Sigh, I don’t even know why I need to be a Hero. I’m not going to abandon my wife and daughter like some Heroes do.]
[Host, a person’s fate should be in their own hands. You should strive to become stronger, little by little. You should aim high, be stronger than Iris, so that you can maintain your place in the family.]
[But Iris listens to me right now.]
Naya put on a dress and walked to the mirror to comb her hair. She was very satisfied with her current situation. Iris spoiled her unconditionally, and Naya felt that she was already at the top of her household.
[She’s the Dragon Queen, host. She’s not like ordinary people. She’s good to you now, but that’s only because you haven’t touched her interests.]
[There you go again, right?]
The System instantly fell silent. Naya puffed her cheeks.
This annoying System—why couldn’t it say more nice things about Iris? She ignored it.
After finishing her makeup, Naya stood in front of the mirror and lifted her skirt slightly in a graceful curtsey. Today, she had chosen a complex and extravagant gown, reminiscent of a Queen from ancient times. The silver-white dress was adorned with numerous jewels, and the skirt was supported by layers of crinoline, giving it a grand, regal appearance. She looked noble and elegant.
Time to wake up Illya.
After yesterday’s battle, Illya had used up a lot of her magic. When Naya tried to wake her, the little one was still reluctant.
So, Naya had no choice but to hold the half-asleep and half-aware Illya, changed her clothes like a dressing doll.
Finally, they had breakfast, and Illya gradually regained her energy, starting to eat heartily at the table.
“Illya, later we’re going to see your Mother. The little dragons who tricked you yesterday are going to apologize to you, okay?”
“Okay ~”
Illya obediently nodded and continued stuffing meat into her mouth.
“Oh, by the way, Illya, can you contact the former Dragon King whenever you want?”
“Mmm-hmm… I think so.”
“Oh…”
Naya thought she should talk to Iris about this at some point. That former Dragon King was really something—teaching Illya how to have babies and encouraging her to go out alone. Wasn’t that just asking for trouble?
After breakfast, it was almost ten o’clock. Naya took Illya’s hand and, along with Bella, headed to the square in front of the palace’s main hall. The area was already packed with dragons.
The warm morning sunlight bathed the square as Bella led Naya up the side steps. In the center of the square, the five young dragons who had been watching the spectacle from above yesterday were now kneeling, facing the palace hall. Iris stood at the top of the stairs.
Once Naya brought Illya to her side, Iris began to speak.
“Alright, now that everyone is here. Although you all already know what happened yesterday, I will repeat it here. Yesterday, these five deliberately led the Crown Princess into a trap set by humans, causing her to be unjustly attacked. Such despicable behavior is tantamount to betraying the dragon race. If they wanted to test the Crown Princess’s strength, they could have issued a formal challenge instead of deceiving her and leaving her to face a human ambush alone.
“Though the Crown Princess was unharmed, their betrayal cannot go unpunished.”
“They will be punished. Parnis, Chris, Nevis, Yarus, and Taimis will kowtow one hundred times before the Crown Princess Illya and will be expelled from the palace, stripped of their titles as Heirs.”
Those young dragon cubs, clearly not expecting their playful actions with Illya yesterday to result in such severe consequences, were stunned. Even though Illya hadn’t even been seriously hurt, the punishment was still harsh.
Kneeling at the front, Parnis looked around nervously, while the other four dragon cubs were already trembling and in tears.
He raised his head to look up at Iris, who stood atop the stairs.
“Your Majesty! I refuse to accept this! I challenge Illya! If she can defeat me, I’ll kowtow to her!”
Iris cast a cold glance at Parnis.
“Do you even deserve it?”
Her words, though indirect, also delivered a harsh blow to Chloris, who was standing on the Stairs as well.
After all, Parnis was her biological son.
Chloris indeed felt a little displeased.
She retorted.
“Your Majesty, we dragons don’t follow human traditions, where status is everything. Since Parnis has issued a challenge to the Crown Princess, if the Crown Princess, a direct descendant of Your Majesty, backs down, wouldn’t that imply she’s indeed inferior to Parnis? How could the strong be expected to kowtow to the weak?”
Iris glanced sideways at Chloris.
“Hmph! As you wish!”
“What?”
Naya was stunned. She had just agreed on Illya’s behalf?
Illya was completely dumbfounded.
Iris reached out and pulled Illya away from Naya’s side.
“Go, Illya, have a thrilling duel with Parnis and prove your strength as Crown Princess.”
“Mother, I…”
Illya looked up at Iris, utterly confused.
Naya clenched her fists, angry but too afraid to shout Iris’s name in public.
Illya had grown up like a flower in a greenhouse, never having truly fought another dragon.
Meanwhile, Parnis was an emperor-level dragon who had been trained since childhood. He couldn’t be compared to fragile humans like Leo.
Even if Illya, using her natural talent, managed to win, she would still be hurt by Parnis in the process.
Naya wasn’t worried about Illya losing, she was worried about Illya getting hurt.
She glared at Iris, warning her with her eyes not to use this self-damaging tactic.
If Illya got injured, this punishment wouldn’t even be worth it.
But Iris remained unmoved, not even acknowledging Naya’s death stare.
“What’s wrong, Illya? Don’t worry about killing Parnis, he’s quite resilient.”
Then Iris crouched down, leaned close to Illya’s ear, and whispered a few words. Afterward, Illya nodded firmly.
