Chapter 67: Spear Technique Descending From The Heaven
Under Nitiya’s lead, Naya aggressively stormed into the Earth Dragon Palace to find Chloris, who was living there.
Chloris sat on a chair in the living room, crossing her legs, while Flanna stood beside her. The atmosphere between them seemed off.
“Isn’t this the Queen?”
Upon seeing Naya, Chloris immediately stood up from her chair and bowed to her.
Naya didn’t waste time on pleasantries and asked directly.
“Where’s Illya?”
But Chloris tilted her head in confusion.
“Why does the Queen come looking for me when the Her Royal Highness the Princess is missing?”
“You’ve never been to my place before, but today you suddenly come to my home just as Illya goes missing and brings Flanna along. Are you really telling me this is just a coincidence?”
“It’s not a coincidence, well…”
Chloris smiled slightly.
“Even if I hadn’t gone to see you, Illya would have sneaked out. I brought Flanna here as a hint for you.”
“What hint?”
“Illya went out to play with my fourth son, Parnis. It has nothing to do with me. I just happened to overhear that he was going to find Illya, and out of curiosity, I followed along. Then I brought Flanna with me to guide you here.”
“So you know where Illya is?”
“But Your Majesty, it seems your attitude toward me isn’t very good. I’m clearly helping you.”
Naya clenched her fists.
“Chloris, I’m sorry, I was too impulsive just now. I’m just anxious to find Illya. Please tell me where she is, I’m really worried about her.”
“Hehe… Is it really necessary? After all, Illya is the daughter of the Dragon King. Your worry is completely unnecessary, isn’t it?”
Chloris wore a faint smile, and although she have a similar face to Illya, she exuded a completely different vibe.
Chloris give people the feeling of a smiling tiger.
Naya, who had been storming in fiercely, was now humbly pleading with Chloris for information about Illya’s whereabouts.
“Don’t you know whether it’s unnecessary?”
“Um…”
Chloris returned to her chair, lightly sighing.
“These days, I’ve been wandering around the island and noticed that there seem to be humans active nearby.”
“What?!”
“I sensed them with my awareness of living beings, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. After all, I was more interested in the scenery than the ants on the ground.”
“Flanna, let’s go!”
Naya turned to Flanna, who was standing nearby. She couldn’t waste any more time chatting with Chloris, this little bit of information was enough.
“Yes, my Queen.”
Flanna walked over to Naya’s side.
She had been wondering why Her Royal Highness the Princess suddenly wanted to see her today and asked her to become her maid. It turned out to be just an excuse to get her out of the Dragon Palace.
“Thank you, Chloris. I’ll take my leave now.”
Naya turned and walked towards the main hall entrance with her two maids when Chloris suddenly called out from behind.
“Those little minions should be easy for the Crown Princess to handle, right? My Queen, why make such a big fuss over them? It seems you underestimate our royal bloodline.”
“I’ve never underestimated royal bloodlines, like yours.”
Naya glanced back at Chloris.
Humans were certainly not to be feared.
What was truly frightening was the rivalry and intrigues among royals.
Why did the dragon race have to learn deceit and trickery from humans?
After leaving the Dragon Palace, Naya said to Nitiya.
“Nitiya, go tell Iris that I’m going to the seaside to find Illya. I might encounter danger, so she should hurry over to help.”
“Yes.”
Back at her own Dragon Palace, Naya found Bella, who looked dizzy.
Naya felt both amused and exasperated. “Stop looking! Quickly transform into a dragon and take me to the seaside.”
“Alright, Miss Naya!”
Since she had a pretty good idea of Illya’s whereabouts, Naya’s mood calmed down a bit, but she was still anxious.
Not daring to delay for another second, she needed the fastest Bella as her mount to quickly find Illya at the seaside.
Once Bella transformed into a blue and white wyvern, Naya jumped on her back and set off.
Holding on to Bella’s back, they headed straight for the seaside.
After taking off, she saw a bright light shooting up into the sky from a distance near the seaside.
Naya urged Bella to speed up.
Eventually, she spotted the little pink dragon curled up on the ground, and the magic circle was aimed directly at Illya.
“Quick! Bella! Fly over there as fast as you can!”
Naya tightly hugged Bella’s neck with one hand while summoning the Flame Spear with the other.
Bella also rushed towards Illya at the speed of a falling meteor.
“Great Wasteland Starfall!”
The spear erupted with fierce flames, enveloping Bella’s form and concealing her blue and white glow.
The flames unfurled in the air like the wings of a giant dragon.
Like a phoenix reborn from the ashes.
Bella’s roar resonated through the sky, culminating in a thunderous crash as she landed.
“Divine Shield of Protection!”
As the myriad spells rained down, Naya positioned herself in front of Illya, steadfast and unmoving like a mountain.
The spear transformed into an umbrella large enough to cover Illya’s body, the canopy morphing into a shield to deflect the barrage of spells.
That voice… was Mama!
Illya carefully unfolded her wings and first saw a massive blue and white wyvern, then noticed Naya’s small silver form, which loomed like a mountain holding an umbrella in front of her.
All the beams of magic disintegrated against the crimson shield, dissipating like raindrops splashing on the umbrella.
When the magic touched the umbrella shield, it turned to nothingness, vanishing into oblivion.
“Mommy…”
At this moment, Illya was filled with tears, but she knew the turmoil wasn’t over yet.
This round of magical bombardment lasted a full minute.
Once the rumbling sounds faded, Naya’s gaze pierced through the dust, spotting the golden-haired man floating in the air.
She retracted the umbrella and transformed it back into a spear.
Naya leapt high, charging directly towards Leo’s location.
She saw a purple magic circle light up beneath Leo’s feet, and he was instantly teleported away.
Naya missed her target.
She adjusted her direction and landed lightly.
Naya turned and charged towards Leo again with her spear drawn.
But Leo actually lifted his staff and deflected Naya’s charge, gazing at her just three meters away.
He sensed that this dragon’s magical power was not as abundant as that of the pink dragon.
It was evident that the silver-haired dragon lady was a better fighter than the little pink dragon.
Without giving Leo much time to think, Naya swung her spear and continued to attack him.
In an instant, the magical showdown transformed into a close combat duel.
Leo calmly held his staff, clashing with Naya. As a mage, how could he not know how to fight in close quarters?
Leo simply didn’t want to place himself in danger.
Faced with a wild creature like a dragon, once he was close, escape would be difficult since the teleportation circle required chanting time, which could lead to stiffness in his body, and if he wasn’t careful, he would be interrupted.
This time, he hadn’t fled immediately because the silver-haired dragon felt too familiar.
This spear technique…
As Leo faced each of Naya’s strikes, past memories surged back, and he became increasingly adept at parrying.
He could never forget.
His former friend had once dragged him to practice close combat, forcing him to use his staff to fight against his spear-wielding friend.
“You, as a mage, how can you not have a close combat dream? Come, take your staff, this is your spear. Let’s have a fight.”
His former friend had once said.
It was from that moment that Leo had gradually trained in close combat skills.
Naya also noticed that her opponent seemed to know her spear techniques well, every attack was easily countered. She decided to stop the fight with Leo.
She retracted her spear, jumped back to create distance, then gripped the spear’s handle again, pointing its tip at the golden-haired human, her eyes holding a hint of coldness.
“Long time no see, Leo.”
