Chapter 26: I Want To Eat Pineapple Pie.
“Why are you suddenly apologizing?”
Naya looked at Iris with confusion.
The warm and cozy atmosphere just moments ago had now taken a sorrowful turn. What had changed?
“I’m apologizing for the years I missed, for not realizing sooner…”
Iris cupped Illya’s face, looking directly into her eyes.
“For not realizing sooner that Mama is the gentlest and most beautiful dragon in the world. Don’t you agree? Illya, isn’t Mama the most gentle and beautiful dragon in the world?”
“Of course! Mama is the best mom in the world, and the most beautiful dragon!”
It felt like a fan club meeting for Naya, filled with joy.
As long as you praise my mom, we’re siblings from different fathers and mothers!
Oh, wait.
Mother is also my mom, so we can’t mix up our relationships.
Okay! Since Mother complimented Mama, I’ll forgive her for monopolizing Mom’s attention.
After watching Naya finish her breakfast while in Iris’s arms, Illya immediately ran back into Naya’s embrace.
Because Naya had woken up late today, the maids had already prepared lunch ahead of time.
The maids did their best to replicate Naya’s meticulous Eastern cuisine.
In truth, the maids were more professional, so replicating Naya’s dishes wasn’t difficult at all.
However, for Illya and Iris, Naya’s cooking had the added flavor of love, which made them think it tasted even better.
When the maids served the dishes, Naya was already full from eating bread.
But, since it was rare for the whole family of three to gather for lunch, Naya held Ilya in her arms.
Just like when she was little, Naya fed Illya spoonful by spoonful.
Ever since Illya learned to eat on her own, her appetite had become insatiable, so feeding her with a spoon was too time-consuming.
It was easier for Illya to devour the food on her own.
Now, sitting on her lap, Illya slowly opened her mouth as Naya fed her spoonfuls of food.
Memories of four years ago flooded Naya’s mind.
Back then, Iris wasn’t by her side.
Iris hadn’t even bothered to share a table with her, always eating out, and occasionally returning to the castle at night. Naya had slept alone with Illya every night.
“Mommy, Mommy, I’m done eating!”
So fast?
When Illya was younger, she couldn’t finish chewing in less than a minute.
Naya scooped up another spoonful and brought it to Illya’s mouth, and Illya immediately opened her mouth and swallowed it.
“Naya, you’re going to spoil Illya rotten this way.”
Illya puffed out her cheeks.
“Mother, mind your own business!”
“Illya, you’re almost six years old. Eat by yourself.”
Iris was extremely jealous.
But how could an ancient dragon over a hundred years old possibly ask Naya to feed her?
So, what she couldn’t have, no one else should, not even her daughter.
“No! I want Mommy to feed me!”
“Here, Iris, ah.”
While the mother and daughter bickered, Naya had already prepared a spoonful of rice and meat and brought it to Iris’s mouth.
The atmosphere turned slightly awkward.
“Ahem… Naya, you’re playing along with them.”
“If you won’t eat it, I will.”
Before Iris could hesitate further, Illya pressed down on the table with both hands, pulling Naya’s hand toward her, but Naya’s hand shook, causing the rice to fall to the floor.
Iris and Ilya simultaneously looked at the ground.
Not even three seconds later, Nitiya quickly came over to clean up the spilled rice.
Naya glanced at Iris, unable to discern her emotions.
She didn’t seem to care, remaining as aloof as ever.
Would Iris have eaten it if she had waited a little longer?
Naya lowered her head and continued feeding Ilya, not teasing Iris any further.
Iris immediately lost her appetite, listlessly cutting her steak with a knife and fork, with no desire to continue eating.
Iris had never found Illya so annoying before.
Having a second child was one thing, but there wouldn’t be a third.
She couldn’t imagine how many pieces Naya would be divided into once more children came along.
But all of Iris’s small movements didn’t escape Naya’s notice.
Naya smiled subtly.
You still want me to feed you, don’t you?
But I gave you the chance, and you didn’t take it.
After feeding Illya for a little longer, Naya realized that at this rate, Illya wouldn’t be full by dinner time.
“Alright, Illya, you can eat by yourself now. This is too slow.”
“Okay ~”
Having enjoyed enough, Illya slid off Naya’s lap and sat in the chair beside her.
She quickly cleared all the food on the table.
Then she stared at the last piece of meat in front of Iris, who had been eating it for half an hour without finishing.
“Mother, are you still eating this steak?”
“Yes, yes, yes, you can have it.”
Iris pushed the steak toward Illya, grumpily.
Such a small child, yet her stomach was like a bottomless pit.
“Hehe…”
Illya, not used to using a knife and fork, preferred chopsticks, influenced by Naya.
She picked up the steak and devoured it, her tiny sharp teeth effortlessly tearing through the tough meat.
Scientifically speaking, a dragon girl like Illya shouldn’t be able to eat so much, but this was a magical world—Newton needn’t interfere.
When Illya had just hatched, she was only as big as a palm.
Even at the transformation stage, she was only the size of a watermelon.
Now, at five years old, her true form was likely around 1.78 meters tall.
So, considering her true form, it wasn’t surprising that she could eat so much.
“Urgh…”
After eating her fill, Illya let out a satisfied burp.
She rubbed her small belly, which only showed a slight bulge.
Most of the food had gone to her true form.
Based on her mother Iris’s true form size, Illya wouldn’t be fully developed until she reached at least three meters in height.
By then, she wouldn’t need to eat so much, maybe going days without food.
“Illya, I need to take a bath first. Since you’re full, why don’t you sit quietly for a while, okay?”
“Okay ~”
After a meal, all Illya wanted was to sleep.
Naya took Illya to her room to rest before heading to her own room to gather clothes, planning to bathe with Iris.
She wanted to wash off the strange scent on her body, soothe her sore muscles, and relax her body after a night of tossing and turning.
She was curious.
Do all dragons smell so fragrant down there?
Naya glanced at Iris, who was selecting clothes from the wardrobe.
To find out if it was just her own scent, she felt it was necessary to conquer Iris at least once!
[System, what should I do? How can I make Iris willingly submit to me? And give her ten smacks on the butt while I’m at it?]
[You’re still thinking about that task? I thought you’d forgotten.]
[How could I forget?! I need the Holy Spear! I need power!]
With enough power, she wouldn’t hold Iris back during their journey, and she’d be able to protect Illya.
[Host, I’m tired. Figure it out yourself.]
The system was done trying.
It had suggested giving Iris some kind of potion, but Naya refused.
She couldn’t beat Iris in a fight either. Naya didn’t want to hurt Iris, yet she still wanted to succeed. How was that even possible?
The system decided to give up.
[System, that’s not fair! You’re slacking off. Be careful, or the Lord God will dock your pay!]
[Yes, I hope they fire me. Bring on the destruction.]
System… have you really lost all hope in me?
Naya sighed inwardly but quickly regained her energy.
[Watch me, System! There’s always a way!]
“Iris ~”
Naya moved closer, wrapping her arms around Iris’s waist.
“What is it?”
Something was off.
Naya’s unusually sweet voice made Iris uncomfortable.
“I heard that after eating pineapple, down there, it smells really nice. Illya mentioned earlier that I smelled nice, and I got curious, but I can’t really tell what I smell like. I want to test it on you, okay?”
Iris’s silence made Naya’s toes curl in embarrassment.
Please respond, I’m dying of awkwardness here!
Unable to bear Iris’s cold shoulder, Naya continued.
“Iris, you didn’t eat much earlier, did you? There’s some leftover pineapple in the kitchen from making milk tea. I can make pineapple pie and feed it to you personally ~”
